The Madhya Pradesh government has made shocking allegations in the dowry death case of Twisha Sharma, a former model-actor from Noida, who was found hanging at her marital residence in Bhopal's Katara Hills area on the night of May 12. Appearing before the Madhya Pradesh High Court, the government claimed that injuries found on Twisha's body were inflicted before her death. While the HC was hearing the petitions seeking cancellation of Twisha's mother-in-law's anticipatory bail, the government alleged that both Giribala Singh and her son Samarth Singh subjected the deceased woman to cruelty over dowry and told her that the money spent by her family for the wedding was not enough. It went on to claim that the injuries on her wrist, elbow and head could have been caused during a scuffle or struggle. The government also added that the injuries could not have occurred after Twisha's death or while her body was being taken down, as per the post-mortem. The government accused Giribala of not cooperating with its probe even after notices were served on May 13 and 14. Meanwhile, a Bhopal court on Wednesday sent Samarth to CBI custody two days after the agency took over the probe. It has re-registered a Madhya Pradesh police FIR against Giribala and Samarth under Sections 80(2) (punishment for dowry death), 85 (husband or his relative subjecting woman to cruelty) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita along with relevant provisions of the Dowry Prohibition Act. Advocate Ankush Pandey, lawyer of Twisha's family, says, Earlier, the accused Samarth was arrested by the SIT. He was brought from Jabalpur to Bhopal and produced before the court. After being presented before the Magistrate, the SIT sought seven days of police remand, which was granted. Subsequently, the CBI registered an FIR in the same matter and named both individuals as accused. Since the custody and all related documents have now been handed over to the CBI, any further investigation in the case will be conducted by the CBI. Therefore, today's proceedings in the Magistrate Court were merely a formality, as the custody is no longer required by the SIT because the investigation has been transferred to the CBI. From this point onward, any further legal proceedings will take place in the concerned CBI court, and the CBI will continue the investigation. On Sunday, a team of doctors from AIIMS-Delhi conducted a second postmortem of Twisha in Bhopal following directions from the Madhya Pradesh High Court, after her parents raised serious concerns about procedural lapses by local authorities.

Why late afternoon naps make you feel more exhausted instead of refreshed?
Late afternoon naps can lead to exhaustion due to sleep inertia, where waking from deep sleep causes disorientation. Naps exceeding 30-40 minutes can disrupt the circadian rhythm and worsen fatigue, especially if sleep-deprived. Experts recommend short power naps or 90-minute cycles to avoid grogginess and maintain nighttime sleep quality.

Tensions erupted after a raid was conducted at the house of former Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan near Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram. ED teams reportedly arrived at Vijayans residence early in the morning under heavy security. CPI(M) workers allegedly attacked vehicles belonging to Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials and smashed car windows. The ED had launched searches at 12 locations, including Pinarayi Vijayans residence in Kannur, his rented house at Bakery Junction in Thiruvananthapuram, and the Kozhikode residence of his son-in-law and Public Works Department Minister, P.A. Mohammed Riyas. CPI(M) leaders criticised both the ED and the Central Government over the action. The raids followed a High Court order allowing the ED to continue its investigation into the alleged monthly payment case. The investigation is currently focused on Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter, Veena Vijayan. The case concerns allegations that crores of rupees were diverted from CMRL to various individuals under the guise of fake expenses. According to the ED, Veena Vijayan has been identified as one of the major beneficiaries who allegedly received money illegally. Here are five updates you need to know about the development: 1. CPI(M) general secretary M.A. Baby was detained after the party organised a protest march to the ED headquarters in the national capital. 2. Meanwhile, Pinarayi Vijayan lamented the lack of support from the Congress, saying: Do not think that conducting raids can weaken us. The party has always given unwavering support, and what happened today is proof of that. There is much more to say, but I will speak later. 3. The raids took place at ten locations in Kerala and two outside the state. Searches in Kannur and Kozhikode have since been completed. 4. Three vehicles were damaged as stones, bottles, and other objects were reportedly thrown at the convoy, Manorama Online said in a report. Protesters also allegedly snatched helmets from police personnel stationed outside and threw them at CRPF personnel inside the premises. Bottles were also reportedly hurled, the report added. Shyam Kumar, driver of one of the vehicles suffered an eye injury in the incident. 5. Reports say Pinarayi Vijayan and his daughter, Veena Vijayan, were present at the Bakery Junction residence, and ED officials reportedly recorded Veena Vijayans statement. Raids were also conducted at the residence of CMRL Managing Director Sasidharan Kartha. It was a team of five-strong ED officers that reached Thiruvananthapuram in the company of eight officers to provide security cover.
4-deputy-cms-key-names-emerge-as-karnataka-congress-navigates-leadership-discussions
Amid reports that the Congress High Command asked Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to step down, to replace him with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, a new consensus formula is being discussed, according to reports. Speculations are that Siddaramaiah has asked for four deputy chief minister posts for his close confidants, a move that has reportedly not gone down well with D K Shivakumar. Local media reports attribute the deputy chief ministers sombre demeanour to his unhappiness at the formula. Shivakumar was seen getting upset at media persons who approached him. That said, a couple of names are being discussed for the post of Deputy Chief Ministers, including Siddaramaiah's son, Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah. Here are the probable names doing the rounds: Yathindra: While Yathindra is almost certain to be included in the cabinet, he may also get the deputy chief minister's post. He is currently an MLC. Appointing Yathindra as DCM could also help keep Congress party's Backwards Classes vote bank intact . M B Patil: A powerful Lingayat leader in North Karnataka and a close confidant of Siddaramaiah, Patils ascent to the post of deputy chief minister may help Congress secure the votes from the Lingayat community in the 2028 Karnataka Assembly elections. Eshwar Khandre: A powerful leader from North Karnataka and a representative of the Lingayat community, Khandre also features in the probable list. Dr. G. Parameshwar/Priyank Kharge: There has been a growing demand in the state for a Scheduled Caste to be made CM. For the same reason, senior leader Dr. G. Parameshwar and Mallikarjun Kharge's son Priyank Kharge could emerge as likely winners. Zameer Ahmed/UT Khader: The Muslim community in the state mostly supports the Congress party. Therefore, in order to secure the Muslim vote bank, it is being said that there is a plan to make Zameer Ahmed or UT Khader, who is recognised as a prominent leader of that community, a deputy cheif minister. The name of H C Mahadevappa, a senior leader of the old Mysore area and close confidant of the Chief Minister, is also doing the rounds.
