Salman Khan is set to return to the IIFA stage for IIFA 2027, bringing his association with the international awards platform into another edition. The actor has spoken about his long-standing connection with IIFA and his plans to be part of the celebrations in Abu Dhabi. Reflecting on his association with the awards, Salman Khan said, IIFA and I go back a long, long way. I have been part of this journey since its early years, and every time IIFA calls, there is a special feeling because it is not just an awards show, it is a celebration of our films, our people and the audiences who have given us so much love. The actor has previously performed at IIFA over the years and said that returning to Abu Dhabi holds particular significance for him. He is set to star alongside Chitrangda Singh in Maatrubhumi, in which he will play an army warrior. The film has been in the pipeline for release for some time and marks his first collaboration with Singh. Salman is also set to headline an untitled action film with Nayanthara. Lyricist Sameer had a conversation with Komal Nahta, during which he spoke about the banners and filmmakers he enjoyed working with and also shared several fascinating anecdotes. During the rapid-fire round, he was asked, If you had to write a song for Shah Rukh Khan today, what kind of song would you write? Sameer replied, Now, its difficult. I cant write a song like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (smiles). Umar ka takaza ho chuka hai! However, agar mujhe unke saath romantic film aaj bhi mile, then Id love to do that! Sameer then revealed that, according to him, his most underrated song is Aake Teri Baahon Mein Har Shaam Lage Sinduri from Vansh (1992). Nikkhil Advani began his career as an assistant director before making a smashing directorial debut with Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003). After helming several significant films, he switched gears and carved a niche for himself in the OTT space with shows like Mumbai Diaries, Freedom at Midnight and the recently released The Revolutionaries. He has also produced acclaimed shows such as The Empire, Rocket Boys and Adhura, along with films like Airlift (2016) and Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway (2023), further adding to his impressive body of work. In a recent interview, Nikkhil opened up like never before about his family migrating from Sindh during the Partition and also spoke about how younger generations are reacting to his films. After Kal Ho Naa Ho, Nikkhil Advanis next directorial was Salaam-E-Ishq (2007), followed by Chandni Chowk To China (2009). The latter, starring Akshay Kumar and Deepika Padukone, didnt receive a favourable response from the audience at the time. However, Nikkhil revealed that Gen Z viewers have since appreciated the film, with many even asking him to make a sequel to Chandni Chowk To China. Nikkhil Advani told Mumbai Mirror, The people asking me for a Chandni Chowk sequel today were four years old when it was released (laughs). They didnt care about narrative structure; they just saw Akshay Kumar [who plays a chef in the film] fighting a giant potato and somehow it worked for them. In the same interview, the acclaimed filmmaker revealed that in the summer of 1947, just before the Partition, his great-grandfather flew with his whole family from Sindh to Mumbai, before the former became a part of Pakistan. Nikkhil Advani also revealed that during the journey, his grandfather carried a heavy money belt strapped around his waist. The money was not his savings. According to the article, He worked for Habib Bank, which was shifting its headquarters to Karachi at Muhammad Ali Jinnahs behest. Hence, he was entrusted to deliver the cash to its Bombay branch. And his grandfather handed over every rupee. Veteran artiste Raghubir Yadav has a pivotal role in Om Ka Hari, which released in theatres on Friday September 18. Directed by Harish Vyas, the movie sees the actor play father to Anshuman Jha, who has also produced the film under his banner First Ray Films. The movie explores a bitter-sweet conflict between a father and his son. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Yadav said that he agreed to do the film as he has witnessed such scenarios before. I have stayed a lot in a lot of villages in UP (Uttar Pradesh), MP (Madhya Pradesh) and Bihar. I have been witnessing this relationship between a father and his kids since ages. Earlier, it was different and then things started changing. In our era, people didnt have much money to study. A father used to somehow educate his children and take them to a level. He then would look at the son of his neighbour and get his son also to become an engineer and get married. Yadav pointed out that now, of course, things have changed. Now the time is such that kids wish to live their lives as per their own wishes, he said. So, I found this conflict between a father and a son very interesting. I got a chance to become a father of this era. Om Ka Hari also stars Soni Razdan in the role of Yadavs wife, along with Ayesha Kapur and Samta Sudiksha. Yadav also found other characteristics of the father interesting. He is someone who realizes that the one he thought would provide him with support (his son) is having a conflict with him. He is also well-versed with astrology, so he realizes that he has only six more days to live. The character has a funny side and some conflict as well. So, I thought it would be fun to do it, he said. A large portion of the film was shot in Varanasi and its ghats. It was great fun, recalled Yadav. When we shot at the Harishchandra Ghat, we felt this is such a peaceful place. In our film, the father reaches that place to die. The ones who were getting burnt appeared to be more peaceful (laughs). Yadav has played various characters in his decades long career. When asked about his selection criteria, he simply said, It should be something I have never done before. It should challenge me. I dont enjoy if I am able to do it easily. It should give me sleepless nights (laughs). Doobne mein maza aata hai mujhe.
