After working in Broken But Beautiful, Bambai Meri Jaan, Kajol-starrer Maa (2025), etc., Jitin Gulati will next be seen in two Pan-India projects Mahakali, co-starring Akshaye Khanna, and Prabhas-starrer Fauzi. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the talented actor explained how these films should benefit him, and also opened up on the possible sequel to Maa. Both Mahakali and Fauzi are Pan-India films and will be seen by a large section of moviegoing audiences across the country. When asked whether he hopes to get more author-backed roles from now on, the actor replied, Thats always the hope. I am just grateful because whatever I am doing in Telugu is possible because I have learned a lot while working on the Hindi films I did before. I have worked with varied directors, from Neeraj Pandey to Habib Faisal to Gurmmeet Singh to Bejoy Nambiar. Today, I am able to work in bigger setups simply because I have learned so much from these directors. So, the hope is that I move forward from here and I move upwards from here. I also hope I get better author-backed roles in Hindi as well. But I am not limiting myself to Bollywood. As we speak, I am chasing work in Tamil, Malayalam and other regional cinema as well (smiles). Wherever there is good work and a good director, I want to be a part of that. Last year, Jitin Gulati was seen in Maa in the role of a cop. The horror film did decent business at the box office and also garnered healthy viewership on Netflix. Jitin remarked, Every film that does well, is watched by a large number of people and, especially, features a known superstar benefits you. Maa had Kajol, and now I have worked with Akshaye Khanna and Prabhas in Mahakali and Fauzi, respectively; that always helps. A large number of people watch these films and, because of them, actors like me also get noticed. So, Maa did benefit me a lot. It was a theatrical success and did very well on Netflix as well. Is Kajol intimidating, as she is sometimes perceived to be? Jitin Gulati instantly replied, No. Shes very true to herself and people view it as being intimidating. But shes literally very easy to work with and shes very genuine as a person. For her, black is black (laughs). Because she doesnt mince her words, people find that intimidating. Otherwise, shes a joy to work with. There have been reports that a sequel to Maa is being planned. When asked about it, the actor replied, For that, you should check with either Devgn Films or Vishal Furia sir. They would be able to confirm. He continued, Theres always a possibility because stories like these lend themselves to different versions. However, the makers would know better. Finally, we asked him about his future projects. Jitin Gulati answered, Currently, I am in the middle of shooting Fauzi. Besides, I have shot a bit for a Hindi film. Ill finish shooting for it most probably this year or early next year. Itll release in 2027 as well. Itll be my first lead role in Hindi. Its a very good part and I'm quite kicked about it (smiles). Her father, Colonel Vikram Kumar Jaitly, a retired Indian Army officer, died on July 2, 2017, following a prolonged illness. Her mother, Dr. Meeta Jaitly, a child psychologist and literature professor, died on June 8, 2018, after battling cancer. The actor also lost her son Shamsher, one of her twin boys born in 2017. Shamsher died shortly after birth due to hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a severe congenital heart condition. His twin brother Arthur survived. Celina has previously spoken publicly about the impact of losing Shamsher and has continued to remember him through social media posts. Her recent family photograph comes at a particularly difficult period in her personal life. She is currently involved in divorce and custody proceedings with her estranged husband Peter Haag. Celina has publicly spoken about being separated from her three surviving sons, Winston, Viraaj and Arthur, who are in Austria. In a recent post about her brother, she referred to her parents no longer being alive and described him as someone whose absence has deeply affected her. In her latest post, however, Celina's focus remained on the photograph and what it represents to her. Reflecting on questions that have remained unanswered, she wrote, I dont know whether this is karma from a past life or some incomprehensible journey of the soul. No answer brings me comfort. Sara Ali Khan is in New York for Fashion Week, where she is set to attend the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 runway show. Ahead of the showcase, the actor spoke to Lifestyle Asia India about her approach to fashion, the pieces currently inspiring her, and how she likes to spend her time in the Big Apple. For Sara, personal style is less about following a fixed set of fashion rules and more about letting individuality take the lead. When asked about a fashion rule she has stopped following, she shared a simple philosophy: Impress other people, express yourself is my new one. She also believes that an outfit should complement the person wearing it rather than become the focus of attention. Just don't let the outfit wear you, be yourself in whatever you wear and then your personality will come through is what I think, Sara said. Sara Ali Khans current fashion moodboard While Sara has experimented with vibrant and colourful looks over the years, her current fashion moodboard is taking a more understated direction. The actor said she has been enjoying minimal silhouettes and a more restrained colour palette. Minimalistic, monotones, I'm enjoying that. I've done so much like colourful shock and awe in my life that it's kind of nice to do some basics, she said. Her current preference also reflects her broader approach to fashion. Rather than building her wardrobe around every new trend, Sara said she prefers dressing in a way that feels comfortable and authentic. I don't never really follow trends, I think just be yourself and be comfortable in your own skin has been what I do, she said. From fashion staples to everyday favourites When it comes to the pieces she is most drawn to, Sara has a soft spot for practical wardrobe staples. Asked about her biggest fashion weakness between shoes, bags, jewellery and jackets, she picked two. Well, I love winter jackets and I like tote bags, so it's between the two depending on where I'm going, she said. For the one fashion piece she believes everyone should own, Sara chose a classic from the brand she is set to watch on the runway. I think a Tommy Hilfiger cable net, she said, referring to the label's cable-knit style. What would be on Saras fashion soundtrack? Fashion and music often go hand in hand, and Sara took a personal route when asked what song would accompany her outfit for the evening. My outfit tonight, I don't know something like reminds me, maybe my Columbia school anthem, she said. The answer is also a nod to her connection with New York. Sara studied at Columbia University and has previously spoken about her time in the city. Sara Ali Khans Perfect New York Day For Sara, a day off in New York is not necessarily about ticking off tourist attractions. Her ideal day involves a mix of exercise, food and plenty of walking. Barry's Boot Camp, Whole Foods, Mamo, walking, more walking, some desserts, some more Mamo, then you're too tired for Barry's Boot Camp, she said. Having lived in the city, Sara also finds that some of the most quintessentially New York experiences are the everyday ones. Asked about the most New York thing she has done on this trip, she said, I've lived here, so I don't know like what the most New York thing is, like take a subway, talk to a stranger, eat a pizza on the road, just these things. From keeping her fashion moodboard minimal to choosing comfort and individuality over trends, Saras approach to style appears to be rooted in making fashion work for her rather than the other way around. And as she heads to the Tommy Hilfiger Spring 2027 showcase, her current fashion philosophy seems to be less about making a statement for others and more about expressing herself.
