Trade experts talk about Hanuman Anshs HISTORIC run: Abhi toh bas shuruaat hai. Even Rs. 300 cr or Rs. 400 cr lifetime cant be ruled outit can collect more in Week 6 than Week 5

Hanuman Ansh is on an unstoppable run. The film collected just Rs. 1.07 crores in Week 1 and then dropped to Rs. 50 lakhs in Week 2. Surprisingly, it then earned Rs. 11.09 crores and a whopping Rs. 62.15 crores in its third and fourth week, respectively. Many expected the film to drop in the fifth week. Instead, it has collected Rs. 49.51 crores in the fifth weekend, with the fifth Sunday collections being Rs. 22.73 crores. As of September 6, it has earned Rs. 124.32 crores. We asked trade experts about this unbelievable box office performance of the historic film. Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, Look at the jump. It collected Rs. 9 lakhs on day 1 and now has crossed Rs. 100 crore mark. The first week was bad, while the film had a total collapse in the second weekend. I am sure the producers were so disheartened, looking at the second week numbers. They must have thought ki film ka pack-up ho gaya. But then it picked up and how. On Friday, Bollywood Hungama reported that on the day of release, the makers had to resort to a BOGO (Buy One Get One) Ticket offer. Taran Adarsh explained, What option did they have? Now they dont need it as its running on the basis of the content. The audience has become the brand ambassadors and they are carrying it forward. He added, There were hardly any pre-release promotions. The makers are now visiting cinema halls. However, it is purely riding on content. As a child, my mother and I went to see Jai Santoshi Maa (1975). Many people had come with the pooja ki thali and some of them left their shoes outside the auditorium. During the song Main Toh Aarti Utaaru Re, people used to sing along, clap, or fold their hands. For Hanuman Ansh, I saw similar visuals some people were barefoot and standing in devotion. Its a rare phenomenon. Girish Johar, producer and film business analyst, revealed when he realized Hanuman Ansh is a sleeper success, I realized in the middle of the second week. Despite low collections, the film was hanging in theatres. The producers were pushing the word of mouth. The third weekend did the trick, after which there has been no looking back. Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal, meanwhile, replied, I realized it in the third week. In the first week, no one cared about the film. In the second week, its trending caught attention. But in the third week, I realized that its going the Mahavatar Narsimha (2025) way. I was also reminded of Jai Santoshi Maa. Lifetime predictions After the fifth weekends collections, trade experts believe it wont be a surprise if Hanuman Ansh collects more in Week 6 than Week 5. Taran Adarsh opined, Yes, theres a possibility. Now its in the hands of the public. Where the public takes it now is up to them. Its a case study. Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, It may collect more next week than this week. Abhi toh bas shuruaat hai. It can go anywhere Rs. 200 crores, Rs. 300 crores and even Rs. 400 crores lifetime cant be ruled out. Now, several schools are planning to take kids to watch the film. Raj Bansal explained, Its difficult to predict for such films. The sky is the limit. Who would have imagined that it would collect Rs. 20 crores plus on the fifth Sunday? Theres a lot of demand and urgency to see the film. I get so many calls requesting for tickets because its shows are sold out in every theatre here. Girish Johar said, It all depends on how it tracks during the weekdays. But anything can happen in todays times. When an Obsession can do such numbers, why not Hanuman Ansh? So why restrict it to Rs. 200 crores? At the same time, why even burden it with such numbers? At the end of the day, its making a huge ROI, making profits for everyone concerned. Its getting the audiences back to the theatres. Thats critical. To conclude Atul Mohan hinted that devotional films are having a dream run at present, Two years ago, Hanuman (2024) also worked. Mahavatar Narsimha was a hit. Laalo (2025) was a sleeper blockbuster. And now, Hanuman Ansh is on a historic run. Girish Johar signed off by saying, Its a beautiful film that rests on emotions. It once again shows that emotion is the critical element the audience wants, be it in any genre action, horror, romance, animation, etc. If the audience connects with that emotion in a film, they dont mind who the actor, director or producer is. Birth Anniversary EXCLUSIVE: Asha Bhosle aatya did a brilliant job as an actor in Mai, recalls niece and veteran actor Padmini Kolhapure

Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away earlier this year on April 12 at the age of 92. Today happens to be her 93rd birth anniversary. She left behind a legacy which will be celebrated for eternity. But apart from singing thousands of songs in various languages, Bhosle also acted in the Hindi film Mai, where she played the titular role. Interestingly, the movie starred Bhosles niece and veteran actor Padmini Kolhapure as her daughter. Kolhapure spoke about Bhosle and her experience of acting with her in an exclusive interview she gave Bollywood Hungama at the end of May this year. Kolhapure shared why Mai means a lot to her. Thanks to Asha aatya that I got my first film Ishq Ishq Ishq as a kid, she said. I came a full circle when I did Mai with her. We worked together. She said that she will only work in that film if Padmini is a part of it. We interacted so much. She was very close to my father. So, she would tell me all those wonderful stories of their young and masti days. So, whether it was her or Lata (Mangeshkar) ji, they would just keep telling me all those wonderful stories. She added, It was great working with her. If you see the film, she has done such a brilliant job. Kolhapure said that Bhosle and Mangeshkar are always going to be immortal. When I think of Asha aatya, so many things come to my mind. Theres not just, 1, 2, 20 or 50 things. When we say she is not with us, it just doesnt seem real. The persona and work of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, who have been my aunts, has been so great that its just going to be there for eternity. For me, they are like living legends only because we still hear their songs every single day. Sharing an example, she said, I met Ashutosh Gowariker recently and he said my mornings begin with Asha jis and night ends with Lata jis songs. He said that is there and thats never going to change. Shortly after the passing away of Asha Bhosle, Bollywood Hungama spoke with Mahesh Kodiyal, the director of Mai, on his experience of directing the singing legend in her first and only film. After narrating how he cast Bhosle, he said, At times, Asha tai used to feel how she would enact such an emotional scene. At that time, I used to ask Padmini to make her comfortable. She used to give a fantastic take. But still she didnt used to be happy with it. She used to say, Nahin re, maine barabar nahin kiya. I used to say just that she did is a big thing. Sanjay Dutt responds to Maharashtra Ministers request to speak in Marathi: 6 saal jail mein raha, tab bhi nahin seekh paaya

Sanjay Dutt recently found himself in an amusing moment on stage when Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik asked him to speak in Marathi. The actor, known for his candid sense of humour, responded with a joke about his own experience and quickly moved past the request. At a recent event in Mumbai, Sanjay Dutt shared the stage with Pratap Sarnaik. Videos from the event have surfaced on social media, showing the actor and the minister along with other dignitaries. During the event, Sarnaik said, Aajkal main sab logon ko Marathi sikha raha hoon (These days, I am teaching everyone Marathi). The minister was referring to a recent requirement concerning autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai, under which they are expected to have a functional understanding of Marathi phrases. Sarnaik then suggested that Sanjay Dutt should also speak in Marathi, saying, So I thought after his entry, let us all get Sanjay Dutt to talk in Marathi. He speaks in Hindi, but all of us understand Marathi. Responding to the request, Sanjay Dutt took the microphone and said, Pratap bhai, main 6 saal jail me raha, Yervada mein. Tab bhi Marathi nahin seekh paaya. Main thoda seekha tha. Marathi pride but only if youre a taxi driver, auto-wallah or street vendor with no bodyguards and no film-industry connections. Sanjay Dutt lives in Mumbai for 50+ years, openly admits he still cant speak Marathi even after 6 years in https://t.co/9B23U2yVd0 SHIVVAM PANDEY BHARATIYA (@IShivamP2) September 6, 2026 The actor then put his arm around Sarnaik and spoke about their long-standing association. He added, Main Pratap bhai ka aabhaari hoon ki mujhe yahan bulaye. Hamara rishta bahut purana hai, 25 saal ho gaye hain. The exchange has since drawn mixed reactions online. While some users appreciated Dutts humorous response, others compared his situation with that of autorickshaw drivers who are expected to meet the Marathi-language requirement. One social media user wrote, Only Sanjay Dutt or Salman Khan can defy a minister like this and still smile, while another commented, He ignored it with style. Others pointed to the difference between the actors response and the situation faced by autorickshaw drivers, with one person writing, If only autowallahs could say this and avoid heavy fines too. Some users, meanwhile, criticised Dutt for not being able to speak Marathi despite having spent most of his life in Maharashtra. Sanjay Dutt was most recently seen in the Arabic film 7 Dogs in a cameo appearance, where he shared screen space with Salman Khan. Jagadhatri completes 300 episodes; Sonakshi Batra and Farman Haider reflect on the show's journey

Zee TVs fiction show Jagadhatri has completed 300 episodes, marking a milestone for the series and its cast and crew. The show, led by Sonakshi Batra as Jagadhatri and Farman Haider as Shivaay, has continued its run with a mix of drama, action, romance and emotional conflicts. The current storyline has taken a dramatic turn following the death of Rudra, played by Ayushh Shrivastava. His death has left Jagadhatri facing accusations, while the narrative moves towards secrets and revelations that are expected to further impact the characters. As the show reaches the 300-episode mark, Sonakshi Batra reflected on her experience of playing the titular character and the response to the series. She said, I have always said that Jagadhatri is a very special show for me. It is a very different show and Jagadhatri is a very different character from anything I have done before. In many ways, this character gives me strength even in real life. The way Jagadhatri is strong, smart, fearless and hardworking, she inspires me every single day. This show has given me so much, new lessons, beautiful learnings, the love of the audience and, of course, so many memorable experiences. Completing 300 episodes is a very big milestone for me and the entire team. When we started this journey, I had never imagined that we would receive this much love. Today, seeing so many fan pages and people talking about Jagadhatri, her action sequences, her fights and her journey makes me incredibly happy. I love that the show gives me the opportunity to explore so many shades, action, romance, drama and emotions and play such a layered character. I am truly grateful for everything Jagadhatri has given me. As we celebrate 300 episodes, I only want to say that I will continue to work harder and give my best to the show. I hope we continue to receive the same love and blessings from our audience and keep celebrating many more such milestones together. Happy 300 to us! Farman Haider, meanwhile, spoke about playing Shivaay and the experience of being part of the show. He said, I absolutely love working on Jagadhatri because it is such a unique show. It has drama, action, romance, emotions, fun and so many unexpected turns, and that makes it exciting for both the audience and us as actors. Playing Shivaay has been a wonderful experience because the character has so many layers, and as an actor, getting the opportunity to explore different shades within one character is something very special. Completing 300 episodes is a huge milestone for all of us, and it makes me extremely happy and proud. This journey has been possible because of the hard work of everyone, both on screen and behind the scenes. Our entire team has worked tirelessly to make the show bigger and better with every episode, and seeing the audience shower us with so much love and blessings makes all the effort worth it. I am truly grateful to everyone who has supported Jagadhatri and Shivaay and made them a part of their lives. I am super excited about this milestone, and I am sure this is just the beginning. We will continue to work harder, entertain our audience and hopefully celebrate many more milestones together. As Shivaay, I promise to keep giving my best and keep entertaining our fans with everything we have. Happy 300 to us! With the story continuing to build around Jagadhatri and the aftermath of Rudras death, the show is set to move into its next phase. Jagadhatri airs every day at 10:30 p.m. on Zee TV. Nawazuddin Siddiqui on his Sarfarosh debut: For those 40 seconds, I had enough confidence that people will only watch me

Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently reflected on the years of perseverance, theatre training and limited opportunities that shaped his journey as an actor which primarily started with Sarfarosh. In a conversation with Shekhar Suman, the actor spoke about the uncertainty he experienced while trying to find substantial work, while maintaining that he never doubted his abilities as a performer. Siddiqui explained that his determination came from having committed himself entirely to acting. Recalling the mindset that helped him navigate the difficult phase of his career, he said, It was that we had no other option. Nor did we keep one. It was an absolute do or die. It was do or die. It was like we will only do this, even if it takes 50 years, if we are at it. Yes, we will stay at it. There was a stubbornness and belief too. There was a belief that the day we get it, we will show them that day. That was there. The belief was there because you had practiced so much on acting. Yes, yes absolutely. So there was not even a slight doubt about this thing. But with me, there is no doubt about the skill, the doubt is whether I got the opportunity or not. Yes, now of course I got it.. in Sarfarosh, I got a 40-second role. 40 seconds, yes, so for those 40 seconds I had enough confidence that when my 40 seconds come, I will bring everything to a halt, people will only watch me. The actors reference to Sarfarosh highlights how he approached even a brief screen appearance. Rather than viewing the limited duration as a reason to hold back, Siddiqui saw those 40 seconds as an opportunity to put his years of preparation into practice. His comments also draw a distinction between confidence in ones abilities and the availability of opportunities. According to Siddiqui, the uncertainty during his early years was not about whether he could perform, but whether he would get the chance to demonstrate what he had learned through years of theatre and training. Siddiqui eventually went on to take on a range of supporting and lead roles, becoming known for performances across Hindi cinema and streaming projects. His latest reflections offer a look back at the mindset he maintained before wider recognition came his way. For the actor, the journey involved continuing to pursue acting despite the absence of immediate opportunities. His recollection of the 40-second role in Sarfarosh underscores how he approached even smaller parts with the same conviction he had developed through years of preparation.
