Parul Gulati on Traitors Season 2, Strategy always outweighs luck

Entrepreneur and actor Parul Gulati has spoken about how her experience as a founder shaped her approach to Traitors Season 2, a strategy driven reality show that demanded sharp instincts and calculated thinking. Gulati said the lessons she learned in business, including reading people, staying composed under pressure and making tough decisions, became her biggest strengths on the show. Reflecting on the similarities between entrepreneurship and competitive reality television, Gulati said, As a founder, Ive learned that reading people is just as important as reading numbers. Data can guide you, but understanding human behaviour often determines the outcome. She said building a business taught her to trust her instincts while remaining open to changing strategies when situations evolved. Entrepreneurship prepares you to negotiate under pressure, make decisions with limited information, and take calculated risks. Those are exactly the skills you need in a strategy driven environment, she said. Gulati said resilience is another quality both worlds demand. Not every decision works in your favour, but every setback teaches you something valuable. The key is to adapt quickly rather than dwell on what went wrong, she said. Rejecting the idea that success is purely driven by fortune, she added, People often credit luck, but I believe strategy always outweighs luck. Luck may open a door, but its your preparation, mindset and decisions that determine how far you go. For Gulati, entrepreneurship has been more than building a business, it has been a masterclass in leadership, negotiation and understanding people. Whether scaling a company or navigating the dynamics of Traitors Season 2, she said her philosophy remains unchanged, trust instincts, embrace calculated risks and remember that lasting success is built on strategy, not chance. Awarapan 2 vs Batwara 1947: Emraan Hashmi takes 20% lead over Sunny Deol in Twitter poll; Awarapan 2 likely to open 2x higher than Batwara 1947

The August 14 box-office clash between Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 is already witnessing a clear trend in audience preference, with Emraan Hashmi's film taking a significant lead over Sunny Deol's release in a Twitter poll. The poll asked users which film they would watch first when the two movies clash in cinemas on August 14. Out of 3,213 votes, 56.7% chose Awarapan 2, while 36.4% opted for Batwara 1947. Another 6.9% said they would watch both films back-to-back. This gives Awarapan 2 a 20.3 percentage-point lead over Batwara 1947 in the poll. Put another way, the Emraan Hashmi-starrer attracted substantially more support than its rival among the Twitter users who participated. The poll also generated considerable activity, recording 16,647 impressions and 1,689 engagements. It received 265 detail expands and generated 44 profile visits, while link clicks stood at zero. The numbers suggest that the August 14 clash has attracted considerable interest online. More importantly, the poll's results show that Awarapan 2 is currently ahead when audiences are asked to choose between the two releases. Only 6.9% selected the option of watching both films back-to-back, meaning the overwhelming majority of respondents who expressed a preference picked one film over the other. The early audience sentiment is also reflected in the estimated opening-day collections being discussed for the two films. Awarapan 2 is currently estimated to open in the Rs. 2 2.5 crore range, while Batwara 1947 is estimated at around Rs. 1 crore on its first day based on ticket sales as of Wednesday 11 AM. That would put Awarapan 2's opening at nearly two times the estimated collection of Batwara 1947. Even when looking at the broader projected ranges, Awarapan 2's lower-end estimate is more than twice Batwara 1947's upper-end estimate. Thus, the box-office projections suggest that the gap could be significantly larger than a simple 2X advantage if the estimates translate into actual collections. While the early numbers favour Awarapan 2, the actual box-office battle will ultimately be decided once both films reach cinemas. Advance audience interest, show allocation, occupancy, word of mouth and the August 14 holiday period could all influence the final opening-day figures. A social-media poll can indicate audience sentiment, but it cannot by itself predict actual box-office performance. For now, however, the early picture is firmly in favour of Awarapan 2. With 56.7% of Twitter poll respondents choosing Awarapan 2 against 36.4% for Batwara 1947, Emraan Hashmi's film enjoys a 20.3-point lead in audience preference. If the current opening-day estimates also hold, Awarapan 2 could potentially open at more than twice Batwara 1947's collectionand possibly close to four times its first-day haul. The August 14 clash is therefore shaping up as an intriguing battle, but the early numbers suggest that Awarapan 2 has the stronger momentum going into release. Trade predicts that Awarapan 2 will open at around Rs. 12 cr and Batwara 1947 at around Rs. 8 cr: Awarapan 2 will COMFORTABLY beat Awarapans lifetime numbers on Day 1

Two days are left for the release of Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947. We spoke to trade experts to gauge the advance booking trends and understand what kind of opening the two films can expect at the box office. Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, Looking at the advance trend, Awarapan 2 definitely has an edge. Its ticket sales have been very good. The first part didnt work even though it was a brilliant film. It was among Emraans best efforts. I remember talking to the Bhatts after the release of Awarapan. They were totally shaken and were wondering, Yeh hua kya? He added, However, over time, the film cultivated a good fan base amongst viewers of all ages. But at the time of its release, it didnt get the attention it deserved. It clashed with Aap Kaa Surroor, which was a wave at that time. Himesh Reshammiya was at his peak then. Meanwhile, Apne featured the three Deols together. Hence, Awarapan got completely sidelined. Thankfully, we are now seeing its true potential, with people buying tickets in hordes. Theres a huge difference between the bookings of Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 at present. Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, explained, Awarapan 2 has an edge and has sold more tickets than Batwara 1947. The main actors in Batwara 1947 are playing characters that are contrary to their established image. Sunny Deol has a hardcore nationalist image. This image was further bolstered by his revival film, Gadar 2 (2023), in which he plays a true patriot who goes to Pakistan to save his son. However, in Batwara 1947, he plays a Muslim who migrates to Pakistan. He has to leave India because it is no longer fit for him to live there due to his religion. Itll be difficult for audiences to imagine him playing such a character because they associate him with a certain image, thanks to films like Gadar (2001), Indian (2001), Maa Tujhe Salaam (2002), etc. He also remarked, Shabana Azmi ji is a great actress, no doubt. However, we need to understand that actors also have an off-screen image. And we are all aware of what her off-screen image and political views are. Hence, it wont be easy for audiences to digest her in such a role. In commercial cinema, it is very important that your on-screen and off-screen images are in sync. Had Jaya Bachchan been cast in the same role, it would have made a lot of difference. He added, Batwara 1947 will be a great film. Theres no doubt about it. But commercially, its standing is on very weak ground. This is a chief reason why the advances have been slow. Trade analyst Atul Mohan said, The advance of both films is not as much as one would expect from an Independence Day release. Nevertheless, if the films get good word of mouth, theyll work at the box office. As per advance trends, Awarapan 2 is clearly leading Batwara 1947 in many centres. Like Vishek Chauhan, he also said, Sunny is playing a Muslim character. Now, how he has been presented remains to be seen. Day 1 prediction Awarapans first part had a lifetime of just Rs. 7.76 crores. All trade experts are of the opinion that Awarapan 2 will comfortably beat the lifetime number of Awarapan on the first day itself. Taran Adarsh said, Yes, definitely itll cross Awarapans lifetime on Day 1. I think Awarapan 2 will open in double digits. It has a fan base and people would want to watch what happens next in Shivams life. Vishek Chauhan agreed and added, Awarapan 2 should open at Rs. 10-12 crores. As for Batwara, its first day number would be Rs. 7-8 crores. Both films should collect Rs. 20 crores on the first day. Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal predicted, Batwara 1947 should open at Rs. 8 crores or Rs. 8.50 crores. Awarapan 2 should open at Rs. 12.50 crores or Rs. 13 crores. It can even go higher. He also confirmed that Awarapans lifetime collection will be crossed on the day of Awarapan 2s release. Atul Mohan was also of the same opinion about Awarapan 2 surpassing Awarapans lifetime collection on Day 1. Interestingly, Shabana Azmi stars in both Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947. On this, he joked, Shabana Azmis Day 1 will be huge, combining both the films! When asked whether Batwara 1947 would open in single digits or double digits, Taran Adarsh replied, Its a bit too early to say. Spot bookings can really change the tide. This has happened in the recent past. The mass centres are driven by spot bookings. He continued, Advance booking can never be a barometer. Sunny Deol has a huge fan base in mass pockets. Hence, with the power of spot bookings, the film could jump to an impressive opening number. Atul Mohan exulted, The public now believes in the idea of walk-in. Tickets are already expensive and one needs to pay Rs. 50-60 more per ticket if they book online. Hence, many prefer to buy from the ticket counter before the show. 'The Way Our Captain Is Playing Has Been Fantastic': Mayank Praises North Delhi Strikers Skipper Sarthak

After North Delhi Strikers: After North Delhi Strikers produced a strong all-round performance to beat West Delhi Lions by eight wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL), Mayank Dagar, who was the standout bowler for his side, lauded North Delhi skipper Sarthak Ranjan, who continued his fine run with the bat. North Delhi Strikers produced a dominant performance to beat West Delhi Lions by eight wickets in the Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Reflecting on the win, Mayank Dagar said, It was a very dominant win for us. We restricted them with the ball and then finished the chase comfortably. Our combination is very good. Everyone knows their role, and that is the most important thing in a team. The coordination between all of us has been going really well. If you look at our batting, our middle order and lower middle order havent even had a chance to bat yet. That is a very good sign because our top order is taking responsibility and performing, he added. Praising captain Sarthak, he said, Touch wood, the way our captain is playing has been fantastic. We have played a lot of cricket together, from Under-16 and Under-19 levels, so I have seen him grow as a player and as a person. He truly deserves this opportunity. Dagar, who finished with impressive figures of 2-14 in four overs, also revealed the inspiration behind his special wicket celebration. It was actually inspired by Paul Pogba. When I first started watching football, I saw him doing that celebration, and I really liked it. So, I decided to do the same today. Batting first, West Delhi Lions were restricted to 146/7 in their 20 overs after a disciplined bowling effort from the Strikers. The Lions made a steady start, adding 36 runs for the opening wicket, but the dismissal of Ankit Kumar for 10 off 10 balls triggered a collapse. The Lions soon slipped to 59/5 as the Strikers continued to pick up wickets at regular intervals. Mayank Gusain and Sombir Sheokand then put together a 68-run partnership for the sixth wicket to help their team recover. Sheokand scored 34 off 24 balls before being dismissed, while Gusain remained unbeaten on 42 off 28 balls to take the Lions to 146/7. Dagar was the pick of the Strikers' bowlers, returning excellent figures of 2/14 from his four overs. Chasing 147, North Delhi Strikers got off to a flying start. Captain Sarthak and Vaibhav Kandpal added 106 runs for the opening wicket, putting the chase firmly in control. Dagar was the pick of the Strikers' bowlers, returning excellent figures of 2/14 from his four overs. 'We've Prepared Ourselves Pretty Well': Shanto Unfazed By 54 All Out Ahead Of Darwin Test

Najmul Hossain Shanto: Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto believes his side is well prepared to deal with the extra bounce expected from Australias tall pace attack as the visitors prepare to return to Test cricket on Australian soil after more than two decades. Bangladesh will play their first Test in Australia since 2003 when they take on the hosts in Darwin. While their preparations were dented by a 54-run all-out collapse against a Cricket Australia XI, Shanto insisted that the result would not define his teams readiness for the Test. The Bangladesh skipper said his side had deliberately worked on bouncy surfaces at home in recent months and had also benefited from spending nearly two weeks in Australia before the Test. Tackling the bounce is the key, but we have been preparing on bouncy wickets at home in the last few months. That gives us a little bit more of an idea. Here, there will be bounce, and we are well prepared having arrived 10 or 12 days before the Test. It gives us more of an idea regarding the bounce. They have a world-class bowling attack, but as a team, it is a good opportunity to challenge them, Shanto said ahead of the match as quoted by Cricinfo. Shanto also downplayed the significance of the poor practice match performance, noting that Bangladesh had experienced difficult outings during past preparation. We have had [poor outings] in practice matches before. This came in the preparation phase. We can have a bad day, but I think we have prepared ourselves pretty well, he said. The captain acknowledged that batting would be Bangladeshs biggest challenge, particularly when facing the new ball against an attack featuring Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. We are confident that we will play some good cricket. As a batting unit, there will be a lot of challenges, and we have been trying to do a lot of work, Shanto said. I think the challenge will be greater against the new ball. I think everyone will play their natural game, try to score runs. We are playing against a top bowling attack. It is important how much consistency and focus we can have. We have to try to bat for longer periods. Bangladesh have also received a boost with Litton Das declared fit for the Test. His return provides additional stability to a middle order that could come under considerable pressure against Australias four-pronged attack. Litton gives us batting depth. He is consistent. We are hopeful of our batting unit doing well in the Test match, Shanto said. The Bangladesh captain also indicated that the team could opt for two frontline spinners in Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Taijul Islam, alongside three fast bowlers. Litton gives us batting depth. He is consistent. We are hopeful of our batting unit doing well in the Test match, Shanto said. Also Read: Live Cricket Score It looks like a pretty good wicket. We havent had a chance to play on a drop-in wicket, but as professional cricketers, we have to adapt to those challenges. As I mentioned, the preparation is there, so I hope we can adjust to this condition. Theres grass on the wicket, but its a good wicket where both batters and bowlers will find help. Maybe the bowlers will get us good results, Shanto said. Article Source: IANS

The Supreme Court has sought responses of the Centre, the Bar Council of India and the CBI on a plea seeking a probe into alleged fake advocates, fraudulent law degrees and the activities of persons associated with the Cockroach Janta Party. The CJP came into being following a remark made by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant during a court hearing in May and later it led a Gen-Z protest against NEET-UG paper leak. A bench comprising the CJI and justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana on Tuesday took note of the petition filed by advocate Raja Choudhary, who appeared as a party-in-person. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has also been made a respondent. The plea also raises a broader issue concerning the alleged commercial exploitation, trademark appropriation and monetised circulation of oral observations made during judicial proceedings. It alleged that portions of the May 15 proceedings were selectively edited and subsequently circulated as memes, vid

Cricket World Cup: Jemimah Rodrigues believes Indias maiden ICC Womens Cricket World Cup triumph has only increased the teams hunger for success, with the experienced batter eager to replicate that feeling when India compete in the inaugural Womens Champions Trophy. Indias World Cup triumph on home soil last year was a landmark moment for the team and gave Rodrigues and her teammates a taste of what it takes to win an international title. The batter feels that achievement has further motivated the side to compete for more silverware. Weve tasted success once, and we know what it feels like to be at the top. The more you taste it, the more you want to be there, Rodrigues said on Jio Star. Our team is working towards that, and yes, the Champions Trophy is going to be very special. Its happening for the first time ever in womens cricket, and Ill be a part of it for the first time as well, so itll be pretty special, and Im really looking forward to it, she said. I think mindset-wise, nothing changes. At the end of the day, its about the team and how to make the team win, and that always stays, she added. Before shifting their complete focus to the Champions Trophy, India will face a challenging multi-format tour of South Africa in December. The seven-match assignment will begin with a one-off Test in Gqeberha from December 9, followed by a three-match ODI series from December 16 and three T20Is from December 26. Jemimah is looking forward to another series against South Africa, whom India defeated to clinch their maiden Womens Cricket World Cup title. Its going to be a really exciting series for sure. Both teams have been doing really well. Weve had a lot of rivalry lately and played a lot of matches against South Africa. I think its going to be great, with two of the top teams in the world facing each other in South Africa. Its going to be a great challenge, and were really looking forward to it, she said.
