Mona Singh has been seen in a series of films and shows featuring varied characters and storylines. Her recent projects include The Bads of Bollywood, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, Border 2, Kohrra Season 2, Subedaar, Maa Ka Sum and Pritam Pedro, allowing the actress to take on different genres and explore a range of roles. However, Mona revealed that the timing of these releases was not something she had planned. Speaking about her back-to-back projects, she said, I had no idea. Honestly, I had no idea because, you see, I shot for Maa Ka Sum in 2024. And there were many other shows and movies that I shot for in 202324, and all have released back-to-back, she shared. For Mona, one of the key positives has been the opportunity to play different kinds of characters instead of being seen in similar roles. She said, But what I was very, very happy aboutand not scared aboutwas that I'm not going to repeat myself. You know, nobody's going to see the same me in every release or show or movie, which is very true. Yeah. There's a different side. There's a different shade and there's a different character altogether. It's a different sketch. So, I'm loving it. I'm loving it. The actress also spoke about how several of these opportunities came her way. According to Mona, directors and producers often contacted her directly to discuss their projects. Uh, most of the time, it was a call that I got either from the director or the producer directly. Okay. They're like, We're thinking of you. Are you free? How are your dates placed? How's this? How's that? And then I went for the meeting, she said. Mona admitted that the variety of roles made it difficult for her to turn down projects, even when she knew she was taking on more work than she could comfortably manage. So I was also so hungry and greedy. I was like, Okay, I'm saying yes to this and this and this. I knew that I was overcommitting, Mona admitted. At the same time, she said she approached each project with the intention of being fully involved and learning from the experience. She added, But I also knew that when I'm doing a certain project, I'm going to be 100% present, aware, and just be there and soak it all in and try to learn something new, try to experiment something new. So, yeah, it was mostly producers and directors reaching out. Mona's comments highlight that while the release schedule may have come together unexpectedly, the range of roles allowed her to explore different aspects of her work as an actor. Soha Ali Khan shares why she keeps missing her 10k steps goal: After 2,467 obstacles, I give up
Soha Ali Khan has once again used social media to highlight the difficulties of navigating Mumbais roads and sidewalks. The actor, who is known for maintaining a regular fitness routine, recently shared a light-hearted video explaining why completing her daily target of 10,000 steps is not always as easy as it sounds. In the video shared on Thursday, Soha can be seen stepping out with the intention of finishing her daily walking goal. However, her attempt soon turns into a series of unexpected obstacles. As she makes her way along the road, she comes across animal poop on the sidewalk, a broken manhole cover, roadwork, a large crane and a man sleeping on the pavement. She also appears to point out situations where pedestrians may have to wait or carefully navigate the area to avoid accidents. After encountering several such hurdles, Soha eventually decides to abandon her walking plan and try again the following day. Sharing the clip on social media, she wrote, I really try to get in my 10k steps every day but after 2,467 obstacles, I give up. While the post was presented with humour, it also drew attention to the everyday challenges faced by pedestrians in the city. This is not the first time Soha has spoken about the condition of Mumbais roads and public spaces. Earlier in February, the Rang De Basanti actor had shared a video showing a damaged sidewalk near her neighbourhood. She pointed out the potential danger posed by the broken section, especially for pedestrians who could accidentally fall into it. Along with the video, she wrote, Just a relaxing evening stroll navigating sidewalks that collapse into death traps. Before that, Soha had also raised concerns about ongoing road construction in Mumbais Bandra area. She shared a picture showing her daughter Inaaya carefully standing on a muddy and damaged stretch of road surrounded by barricades, debris and construction material. Through her social media posts, Soha has repeatedly highlighted pedestrian safety and the difficulties caused by damaged sidewalks and ongoing roadwork in Mumbai. Rohit Roy, who rose to prominence with the 1990s Doordarshan series Swabhimaan, has opened up about the perceived divide between television and films. Despite having spent a major part of his career on television, the actor said he feels there are differences in the way actors from the two mediums conduct themselves and appear in public. During a recent conversation, he went on to describe television as a dustbin medium and also spoke about the perceived longevity of films. Speaking on the Kindle Cast YouTube channel, Rohit was asked about the caste system that exists within the entertainment industry, where television actors are sometimes viewed as being below their film counterparts. The actor said that one of the differences he observes is in the way film stars carry themselves during public appearances. You see any public appearance of a film actor, you see the carriage with which he or she comes out, especially if they are a star. Of course, everyone puts on a front. We have to put on a front. But their front is graceful, dignified, stylish, cool There is a certain amount of style, class, he said. Rohit then compared this with gatherings involving television actors and suggested that their conduct can sometimes be noticeably different. You see another gathering with lots of TV actors. Look at the way they behave, you will get your answer yourself, he said. The actor also stressed the importance of maintaining a certain level of dignity when appearing in public, particularly in front of the paparazzi. You have to conduct yourself with a certain amount of grace, dignity. You cant do hoo-haa and make stupid comments because you know the paparazzi is there, he said. Rohit further discussed the difference he perceives in the fashion choices of actors from the two industries. While acknowledging that film stars also wear revealing outfits, he argued that he sees a difference in how such clothing is styled. Look at the kind of clothing. Its not like film stars dont wear revealing clothes but there is a certain style to it. I dont know the name of this particular lady who is rampant all over social media but she hardly wears anything. So why are you You are going to treat them badly, he said. Preity Zinta reveals why she avoids watching her own films; says, I feel very awkward
Preity Zinta has spoken about why she avoids watching herself on screen, admitting that she finds it difficult to sit through her own films. The actor, who has been part of Bollywood for nearly three decades and has appeared in over 50 films, is now gearing up for her second project since returning to the industry. The upcoming action comedy also marks the acting debut of Vanshika Dhir. In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Vanshika opened up about her experience of making her debut and seeing herself featured in the films promotional material. Although not much has been revealed about her character, she admitted that she was surprised to find herself on the poster. I didnt expect to see myself on the poster. I am just happy I made it there. At the trailer launch, when I saw myself on the big screen, I could not believe it. I had some kind of impostor syndrome. I feel that feeling is going to stay for quite a while, says Vanshika. Preity agreed with her and said that the feeling of self-doubt can remain even after years of working in the industry. Speaking about her own experience, she said, I can never judge myself on screen. I dont see myself on screen. Once my movie is done, I dont watch it. I feel very awkward sitting through. Its not like I dont want to watch, but I cannot. I find it very unusual. I find myself thinking: I could have done this better. The upcoming action comedy also gives Preity an opportunity to perform action sequences. She plays Madam H, a super spy who recruits two ordinary men, played by Kunal Kemmu and Sparsh Shrivastava, for a secret mission. Discussing her action scenes and stunts, Preity said, Its always a negotiation. I am falling off the steps. But I wanted to do most of it. But what happens is that there are so many technicalities. And there is somebody who is paid to do this, and you cant take their job away from them. But hats off to all the action team that was working. Whatever you see is the result of their hard work. We are just the front. And yes, I got kicked, I got punched. I never thought that would happen. When you see everything on film, its so much more exciting. When you do it, its so technical. The cast also features Dinesh Lal Yadav and Yashpal Sharma, with Sharmila Tagore appearing in a cameo. The action comedy is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 18. Hanuman Ansh is on an unstoppable run, and producer Namrata Singh of SacredIP Trans Media Tech recently spoke exclusively to Bollywood Hungama, revealing that the film would be dubbed in Telugu. She said, Trivikram Srinivas (of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo fame) is on board for the Telugu version. On September 11, coinciding with the Mahasamadhi Day of Neeb Karori Baba, the makers officially announced that the Telugu version of Hanuman Ansh will arrive in cinemas on September 18. Bollywood Hungama spoke to her earlier this week and asked if she also planned to dub Hanuman Ansh in Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada. Namrata Singh replied, No. We have only dubbed it in Telugu. I am just not getting the time (laughs)! We missed the Oscar submission deadline [for consideration as Indias official entry for Best International Feature Film] yesterday (September 7), as it was the last day. We got calls from a thousand people ki aap ne film submit nahin ki. But we didnt know about it. We are busy with too many things. Also, we are a really small team. She continued, First, we have done dubbing for Telugu and then work on the rest of the languages. We are also working on accessibility so that people of different abilities can see the film. The artists and director are on tour. There's hardly anyone in the office. Bollywood Hungama earlier reported how the Hanuman Ansh team has been working day and night to ensure the films overseas release happens on time while simultaneously handling several other activities. Namrata Singh revealed, When you release overseas, there are multiple things to take care of. Moreover, I am a first-time producer while Vishal Chaturvedi is a first-time writer-director. Hence, we are all learning on the go how to release the film internationally. The amount of censor processes to be done and assets to be created was overwhelming. We are also devotees and it's very important for us to release overseas on September 11 because it is Mahasamadhi day for Maharaj ji. That's the day Maharaj ji left his body in 1973. Hence, the race against time to release on September 11 ne poori jaan le li! Thankfully, we managed and the release is happening this Friday. She added, We are also developing a game. It's made by the company which has developed FAU-G. We are also working on a comic book, for which we are talking to one of the biggest comic book publishers in the country. SCOOP: Aamir Khan, Sajid Nadiadwala and R. Balki discussing an ambitious superhero film
Last year, Aamir Khan was discussing a Pan-India superhero film with Tamil director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Multiple meetings and narrations happened over months, but the project was eventually shelved courtesy of script issues. Now, buzz is that Aamir is once again circling another superhero project. Bollywood Hungama has exclusively learned that Aamir Khan is in preliminary discussions with Sajid Nadiadwala for an ambitious superhero film that will be directed by R. Balki. The project is currently at a nascent stage, with the scripting process actively underway. Aamir has been approached, and he has also shown interest, but no formal commitment is in place yet. According to sources, the makers are expected to take the discussions forward over the next few months as the script and overall vision for the superhero project take shape. Given the scale of the film being envisioned, several aspects, including the screenplay, character arc and production design, are likely to be worked out before the project moves into the next stage. Aamir is known for preferring a locked screenplay before committing, and the makers are working closely with Aamir on the same. If this project materializes, it would mark Aamir's first collaboration with both Sajid Nadiadwala and R. Balki. Aamir and Sajid share a long-standing cordial friendship but haven't worked together on a film. Meanwhile, R. Balki has established himself as an acclaimed filmmaker with films such as Cheeni Kum, Paa, Ki & Ka, Pad Man and Chup: Revenge of the Artist. Balki often explores high-concept and unconventional ideas that break standard Bollywood templates. His superhero film is also expected to be unlike anything attempted before in the genre in India. Interestingly, the director has mostly worked with Amitabh Bachchan but has generally stayed away from making films with the leading Khans of Bollywood. In an interview in 2017, he had explained that collaborating with the Khans could be difficult from a practical standpoint. If I start thinking of making a film with them right now, I will get quite old by the time I start... I'd rather be more practical, he said. Nearly a decade later, the filmmaker is now trying to put together a massive project with Aamir Khan. The development of a superhero project comes soon after reports emerged that Aamir is also in talks for Race 4. Sources clarify that both projects are in the discussion stage and eventually may or may not happen. Aamirs only confirmed project at present is Ashutosh Gowariker's Lalkaara, a period sports drama based on the historic 1952 India-Pakistan Test series. The film is set to go on floors in November 2026. Aamir is expected to follow that up with Rajkumar Hiranis 3 Idiots sequel, though that project also remains in the development stage. Bollywood Hungama travelled to Goa earlier this week for the trailer launch of the much-awaited Drishyam The Conclusion. Soon after we reached our hotel and headed for lunch, this writer bumped into Dr Sharad Bhutadiya, the veteran actor who plays Martin in the thriller franchise. Interestingly, the lunch area itself had a Drishyam theme. Pav Bhaji, as expected, was part of the buffet, while the venue was aptly christened Martins Corner, after the restaurant run by Martin Uncle in the film. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Dr Sharad Bhutadiya spoke about the film, the enduring popularity of his character and a lot more. When asked about the Martins Corner tribute, Dr Sharad Bhutadiya said, This makes me very proud (smiles). Its wonderful to see that my role has had some impact and that people still remember and cherish it. Credit goes to everyone, mainly to the film's writer along with Ajay Devgn and the director. Hum sab ne milke uss waqt jo kiya tha, woh abhi tak logon ko yaad hai. Did the first parts director, the late Nishikant Kamat, offer him the part? Dr Sharad Bhutadiya replied, No, he didnt. However, I knew him. I remember someone from the team had called me from Pune. They explained my role to me in brief and asked if Id be interested in signing for the film. When asked if he had seen the original film starring Mohanlal, he replied, I didnt see it, but I saw it later, after I had finished working on the first part. Just like the rest of the team, Dr Sharad Bhutadiya also stated, I cant say much, but I can assure you that Drishyam The Conclusion is very different from the Malayalam Drishyams third part. Since the release of the first Drishyam in 2015, Dr Sharad Bhutadiyas life has changed and he has been recognized by the aam junta when hes out. Dr Sharad Bhutadiya revealed, It happened many times (smiles). And this is what I find very surprising. If you see, mere role mein aisa kuch tha hi nahin. And yet, people appreciated it a lot! He spoke highly of his co-star, Ajay Devgn, Hes very cool and down-to-earth. He never does show-off or anything of that sort. He talks to co-actors respectfully. He treats everyone equally. Yeh aaj kal nahin dekhne ko milta hai. Dr Sharad Bhutadiya has worked extensively in Marathi films and also a few Hindi films. He admitted that the industry did notice him after the release of Drishyam. He said, I did get 2-3 offers. However, due to my other commitments, I had to decline them. However, it would have been great if I had accepted those offers. The third part of Drishyam is said to be the final one. Dr Sharad Bhutadiya joked, Woh pata nahin (laughs). Does he feel a part 4 can be in the offing in the near future? He replied, Part 4 bhi ho sakta hai. It all depends on the writer. Writer ke dimaag mein kya chalta hai, yeh samajna bahut mushkil hai!
