As Raksha Bandhan completes four years since its release, actress Sadia Khateeb has revisited her memories of working on the family entertainer. The film, which explored the bond between a brother and his sisters, remains a significant project in the actresss journey, with Sadia recalling her experience of working alongside Akshay Kumar and the ensemble cast. Looking back at the film, Sadia said that being part of the project gave her an opportunity to learn both professionally and personally. She also remembered the atmosphere on set and the relationships she formed during the making of the film. Raksha Bandhan will always hold a very special place in my heart. It has been four years since the film released, but the memories of working on it still feel so fresh. Getting the opportunity to share the screen with Akshay Kumar sir and such a wonderful ensemble was truly an enriching experience. I learnt so much during the making of the film, both as an actor and as a person. The warmth on set, the beautiful relationships we built and the memories we created are something I will always cherish, says Sadia. Directed by Aanand L Rai, Raksha Bandhan revolved around the relationship between a brother and his four sisters, while also exploring themes of family, love and marriage. For Sadia, the film offered an opportunity to be part of a story that placed familial relationships at its centre. The actress continues to explore different roles and projects as she progresses in her career. However, four years after the theatrical release of Raksha Bandhan, Sadias recollection highlights the personal memories she associates with the film and the people she worked with. She continued to maintain how it has remained to be a cherished chapter for her, particularly for the experience of working with an established actor such as Akshay Kumar and being part of a larger ensemble. Ishwak Singh recently returned to the stage with Dario Fos Accidental Death of an Anarchist, reconnecting with the theatre roots that shaped his journey as an actor. After spending nearly nine years with Asmita Theatre Group between 2010 and 2019, Singh said stepping back into live performance reminded him of the foundation on which his acting career was built. In the play, Singh portrays the Maniac, the protagonist in the politically charged and physically demanding production. Returning to Asmita made the experience particularly meaningful for the actor, who described the performance as both challenging and rewarding. In July, I returned to the stage with Accidental Death of an Anarchist, Dario Fos politically charged, physically demanding play, with my alma mater, Asmita Theatre Group. I played the Maniac, the protagonist of the play, he said. Singh explained that his years in theatre taught him essential aspects of acting, including listening, responding, inhabiting characters and trusting his instincts. However, Accidental Death of an Anarchist demanded a different level of physical and emotional commitment due to its fast pace and intense subject matter. Although he had returned to theatre once in 2023, Singh said his latest experience made him realise how much he had missed the immediacy of live performances. Unlike films and streaming projects, theatre offers no retakes or opportunities to alter a scene once it has begun. There is a freedom on stage that is difficult to replicate anywhere else. There are no retakes. No cuts. No opportunity to go back and do the scene differently. You have to be completely present, and you have to respond to what is happening in the room, he said. For Singh, the interaction between performers and audiences remains one of the biggest attractions of theatre. That exchange between the actor and the audiencethe energy travelling back and forthis perhaps the biggest high I have experienced as an actor. It is immediate, unpredictable and completely alive, he added. He also highlighted the creative freedom theatre provides, allowing actors to experiment with gestures, physicality and voice. For me it is a place where an actor can be free, Singh said, adding that the stage gives him the opportunity to remain vulnerable, experiment, fail, discover and grow. Reflecting on his return, Singh said, Sometimes, you have to return to where you began to discover how much further you can go. He described being back on stage as priceless and concluded, It felt like coming home. On the work front, Singh will next be seen in Maddock Films Sarvagun Sampan, opposite Vaani Kapoor. His upcoming projects also include Prakash Jhas Janaadesh, Devashish Makhijas Gandhari and Gaurav Madans indie feature What Remains. Amar Upadhyay is set to return as Mihir Virani in Star Plus Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi after an absence of nearly 14 weeks. His comeback marks the end of one of the shows most discussed gaps and is expected to bring a fresh turn to the Virani familys ongoing story. During Mihirs absence, the Virani family has witnessed several developments, including weddings, shifting relationships and new conflicts. The dynamics at Shantiniketan have also changed, with the family moving through different circumstances. Mihirs return will therefore see him stepping into a household that remains rooted in its familiar relationships and values but has evolved considerably since he left. For Amar Upadhyay, returning to the role has been an emotional experience. In an interview with Times of India, the actor spoke about revisiting the character and stepping back onto the set after several weeks. Stepping back onto the set felt incredibly special. There is a familiarity here that is difficult to put into words. Kyunki is not just another show for me; it is a defining chapter of my life and career. Returning as Mihir brings a wonderful mix of nostalgia, excitement and gratitude. Mihir has evolved with time, just as I have. There is a greater sense of maturity in the way he looks and carries himself. But at his core, he remains the same person, deeply rooted in his family and values. What made this phase special was seeing how strongly people continued to associate Mihir with Kyunki. That kind of affection cannot be manufactured, and it has probably been the most humbling part of the entire experience, Amar said. Mihirs comeback is expected to add another layer to the ongoing family drama as he reconnects with the Viranis and encounters the changes that have taken place in his absence. While his core values remain unchanged, the character will return with a more mature personality and a different perspective shaped by his time away. Amar Upadhyays return also brings back one of the most recognisable characters associated with Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. As the show enters this new phase, Mihirs presence is expected to influence the family dynamics and the relationships that have developed during his absence. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi airs every day at 10:30 PM on Star Plus and is also available to stream on JioHotstar. Celina Jaitly has opened up about an unusual aspect of her ongoing divorce proceedings, revealing that her daily workout routine was questioned during the legal process. In a recent Instagram post, Jaitly shared a picture from the gym and explained why exercise and discipline have remained important to her while dealing with several difficult personal circumstances. Jaitly wrote, Imagine having to defend weightlifting in court, while revealing that her habit of spending around one and a half hours a day working out had been raised during the proceedings. For the actor, however, exercise has never been limited to maintaining physical fitness. She described the gym as one of the few constants that helped her deal with grief, fear, anger and anxiety. Reflecting on what her body and mind have experienced, Jaitly referred to giving birth to two sets of twins, undergoing twin C-sections and suffering dance-related injuries. She also spoke about the loss of one of her children, the deaths of both her parents, the crisis involving her family and her reported separation from her children. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Celina Jaitly (@celinajaitlyofficial) According to Jaitly, working out provided her with an outlet as she tried to rebuild herself amid uncertainty. She also connected her commitment to discipline with the values taught to her by her father, whom she described as a soldier. Questioning whether dedicating time to fitness could genuinely be considered wrong, Jaitly asked, Was it really wrong for me to lift weights for one and a half hours a day? She added that showing up for herself through sport and exercise represented discipline and accountability, qualities she considers important when setting an example for children. Jaitly married Austrian national Peter Haag, and the couple welcomed twins in 2012. They had another set of twins in 2017, though one of the children died due to health complications. In 2025, Jaitly filed a complaint under the Domestic Violence Act against Haag. Mumbai Police later registered an FIR based on her allegations, including cruelty, physical harm, criminal intimidation and sustained harassment. The allegations remain subject to legal proceedings. Sunny Deol has described Border as a deeply personal part of his journey, drawing a connection between the film and his father Dharmendras association with the war drama Haqeeqat. For the actor, the Border franchise represents more than stories of war and patriotism it carries forward a legacy of honouring the courage and sacrifice of Indias armed forces. Reflecting on the significance of Border 2, Deol said, What Haqeeqat was to my father, Border is to me. Border 2 is about celebrating our armed forces, remembering their courage and sacrifice and to honour their bravery and commitment. This isn't just a film premiering on the 15th of August. It's a reminder going out to every household of what that date actually means for us, and what it still asks of us. His comparison with Haqeeqat highlights the personal significance the Border series holds for him. While his father was associated with a film that depicted the realities and sacrifices of soldiers, Sunny Deol sees Border and its upcoming sequel as part of his own connection to stories about the armed forces. With Border 2 set to premiere on Independence Day, the film is positioned as a tribute to the soldiers whose courage and commitment continue to shape the nation's history. The sequel aims to bring stories of bravery, sacrifice and duty to audiences while reminding viewers of the significance of August 15. The film will premiere on Zee Cinema on August 15 at 7:30 PM, coinciding with Independence Day celebrations across the country. Through its focus on the armed forces, Border 2 seeks to continue the legacy associated with the original film while placing renewed attention on the sacrifices made by soldiers serving on the frontlines. For Sunny Deol, the release also marks the continuation of a legacy that connects generations through stories of valour, duty and national service. Actor Gajendra Chauhan, best known for playing Yudhishthir in BR Chopras iconic television series Mahabharat, has shared his thoughts on Nitesh Tiwaris much-awaited Ramayana. While Chauhan has reservations about certain aspects of the films presentation, he praised Ranbir Kapoors appearance as Lord Rama in the trailer. In an episode of the Hindi Rush Podcast, Chauhan discussed the challenges of portraying revered mythological characters on screen. According to him, actors taking on such roles should ideally not carry an overly established public image, as audiences may find it difficult to separate the performer from their previous work and public persona. When you are playing a mythological character, you cant have an image, Chauhan said. He further explained that actors who are frequently seen in films, advertisements and public appearances already have a recognisable identity, which could affect how audiences perceive them in a mythological role. If you are playing a pious character like this, you cant have an image; you cant be too exposed in public, he added. Gajendra Chauhan questions Kaikeyis look in Ramayana While discussing the Ramayana trailer, Chauhan also expressed disappointment with Lara Duttas portrayal of Kaikeyi, particularly in the sequence where she asks King Dashrath to send Lord Rama into exile. I saw the Ramayana trailer. Personally, I am telling you, I was not impressed. I was not impressed by Kaikeyi's scene where she asks for Ram's exile. Her dressing, for one, is very modern. They have given her a modern saree, Chauhan said. His comments suggest that his concerns are primarily linked to the visual interpretation of the characters and the way certain elements have been adapted for the big screen. However, Chauhan did not extend his criticism to Ranbir Kapoors appearance as Lord Rama. Despite his reservations about the trailer overall, he felt that Kapoor looked convincing in the role. Hes looking good, Chauhan said, while making it clear that he would reserve his final judgement on Kapoors performance until he watches the film in theatres. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. The film is being mounted as a two-part epic, with the first instalment scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on November 6. The film will release in India on November 8. The second part is slated to arrive during Diwali 2027. Also Read:BREAKING: Chetan Hansraj plays SEVEN characters in Ramayana, including Ravanas maternal grandfather

Kannada superstar Yash and Radhika Pandit are celebrating 10 years of their engagement today, August 12. To celebrate the occasion, Radhika posted an unseen video from their engagement in 2016. Emraan Hashmi began his career with Footpath (2003), in which he stole the thunder, despite being in a supporting role. His next film, the erotic musical thriller Murder (2004), was a huge hit and made him a household name. He then starred in several memorable films and his track record got a boost when Murder 2 (2011) opened at Rs. 7.10 crores. The Dirty Picture (2011) had an opening of Rs. 9.54 crores while Raaz 3 (2012)s first day collections were a huge Rs. 10.47 crores. From here, his track record got affected, though in between, he was seen in the multi-starrer Baadshaho (2017). It opened at Rs. 12.60 crores and is his biggest opener to date. Trade experts feel that his upcoming film, Awarapan 2, has the potential to beat Baadshahos day 1 figure. Trade veteran Taran Adarsh said, Its good to see Emraan back in action. At one point in time, he was riding a very successful wave. Then, suddenly, there was a dip. But now, its good to see the return of those days when his films used to get a strong initial. Its happening again with Awarapan 2. When asked if Awarapan 2 can emerge as his highest opener, he replied, Yes, theres a possibility and that too despite solid competition from Batwara 1947, a film featuring big names like Sunny Deol, Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi. Its a feat. Vishek Chauhan, owner of Roopbani Cinema in Purnia, Bihar, explained, Theres tremendous demand for Awarapan 2 among the youth. The youngsters have heard about the legend of Emraan Hashmi, but they havent experienced him in that avatar on the big screen. They are eager to see him in a mass-appealing role, and Awarapan 2 is the apt film for that. Distributor and exhibitor Raj Bansal opined, I find him to be a very decent actor. But he went and picked some wrong films. There are two actors for whom I feel very bad Emraan Hashmi and Shahid Kapoor. Both are highly talented, but due to some bad choices, their track record suffered. He added, A good script and good music will always help a film become a super-hit. Saiyaara is a great example of that. This year, Main Vaapas Aaunga also benefited from the same factors. Though it initially had a very slow start, it later picked up and how. Sadly, our filmmakers often give less importance to both a good script and good music. Atul Mohan stated, If audiences like an actor in a certain image, it is important for that actor to do films in that space. Emraan reached a different level, thanks to the kind of films he did. But then he started doing arty films. He had a set audience, and that fan base exists even today. The fact that it still exists shows that people continue to love him and have expectations from him. So, hes doing the right thing by working in a film like Awarapan 2. Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has opened up about his nearly decade-long absence from the Indian music industry, reflecting on the restrictions placed on Pakistani artistes in India and how the ban influenced his musical journey. In a recent conversation with Kris Fade on his YouTube channel, the singer also addressed his continued connection with Indian fans, who continue to listen to his music despite the restrictions. Atif said it has been almost 10 years since he was banned from working in India following the decision to restrict Pakistani artistes from the country. Its been almost 10 years since I was banned in India. That was the decision of the Indian government; they decided to ban artistes from Pakistan. Indian artistes are also banned in Pakistan now. For the past 10 years, I havent done a song there, he said. The singer also revealed that his Indian fans have continued to find ways to access his music. My fans are listening over VPN and they burn the CDs and give them to people. Not that I appreciate piracy, but music will reach wherever it has to reach, Atif said. Addressing his Indian listeners directly, Atif said that while he does not miss working in India, he does miss his fans there. Dont feel bad about it, dont feel sad about it. I always wanted to tell you that I miss you guys. I dont miss working over there, but I miss you guys, he said. He also credited his experience in playback singing with helping him discover his own musical identity. Atif explained that had the ban not happened, he may not have explored his abilities in the same way. I have learnt a lot from playback singing and if this ban didnt happen, I think I would be unable to make my own music, he said. I thank you guys for that as well. I thank those who have banned me as well, otherwise I wouldnt be able to explore myself. Pakistani artistes faced restrictions in India in 2016 after tensions escalated following the Uri terror attack. The Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) passed a resolution asking its members not to hire Pakistani artistes and technicians until relations between the two countries improved. Further restrictions followed in 2019 after the Pulwama terror attack. Atif remains one of the most popular Pakistani singers among Indian audiences. His Bollywood journey began with Aadat in Kalyug, followed by songs such as Woh Lamhe, Tere Bin, Pehli Nazar Mein, Tera Hone Laga Hoon, Tu Jaane Na, Jeene Laga Hoon, Be Intehaan, Jeena Jeena and Tere Sang Yaara. His work has also earned him multiple Filmfare nominations for Best Male Playback Singer. Also Read : Atif Aslam to kick off 13-city North America tour, Borderless 2025, this September
Actor Kranti Prakash Jha, known for Raktanchal, has said his path to acting was never planned, and that his original ambition was to clear the UPSC examination and become an IPS officer. Jha said, You can call me an accidental actor. He added that he and his brother watched close to 250 films a year as children and kept a notebook recording every film they saw. Jha said acting did not cross his mind even while he was part of the theatre society at Hindu College, founded by filmmaker Imtiaz Ali. He said, I was part of the theatre culture at Hindu College. Imtiaz Ali and Vishal Bhardwaj are seniors from our college theatre group. I was a very small part of that ecosystem, working on productions and in the drama society, but I never thought of becoming an actor. He said, UPSC was my only aim. I wanted to become an IPS officer. On the fashion shows he took part in during college, he said, I also did fashion shows because I was told I was handsome. Jha said the turning point came when friends encouraged him to spend a few months in Mumbai before returning to his UPSC preparation. He credited screenwriter Ritesh Shah, known for Pink, and lyricist, writer and actor Swanand Kirkire, saying, I never had to go through that. Ritesh Shah and Swanand Kirkire helped me with food and shelter. They took me along to audition and find something new in life. Speaking about his belief in destiny, Jha said, I have always believed in Jo Ram Rachi Rakha. He went from preparing for the civil services to becoming an established performer in the OTT space, a journey he describes as unplanned. The much-awaited teaser of Haiwaan has been unveiled, offering audiences a glimpse of Akshay Kumar in a never-seen-before avatar. Directed by Priyadarshan, the psychological thriller marks Akshays first full-fledged portrayal of an out-and-out negative character, with the actor stepping into a dark and intense persona. Speaking about his role, Akshay Kumar revealed that his character has no shades of grey and is purely evil. The actor also admitted that playing a psycho on screen was something he had wanted to explore for a long time. As the title goes, I am playing Haiwaan and my character has no grey shades; he's out-and-out evil. I always wanted to play a psycho on screen, he says and further explains how this film allows him to challenge himself as an actor. With my last four-five films, I have tried to switch between completely different genres: comedy, horror, action, drama. This is my first time playing evil in the truest sense. I like to constantly challenge myself and Haiwaan is that challenge for me, he stated. The actors transformation is already attracting attention, with the teaser presenting him in a beanie and sporting an intense look that hints at the unsettling character he plays. For Priyadarshan, the actors appearance played an unexpected role in shaping the character. The filmmaker revealed that he first noticed Akshay wearing a beanie on the sets of Bhooth Bangla and immediately liked the look. While narrating Haiwaan, Priyadarshan had not initially imagined Akshay taking on the negative role. I saw Akshay casually wearing a beanie on the sets of Bhooth Bangla and immediately liked the look. While narrating Haiwaan, I never thought he would do the negative character. I was shocked when he asked, 'Can I do it?' I thought this would give me a different Akshay Kumar and a chance to see the actor's potential. Haiwaan brings Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan together for a dark psychological thriller, creating anticipation around the collaboration between the two cinematic icons. With Priyadarshan at the helm, the film promises an intense and shadowy world unlike Akshays recent outings. Haiwaan is scheduled to release in theatres on September 11, 2026. Reflecting on the project, Pilgaonkar said, Ive just wrapped Baara Number, and shooting a found-footage horror film has been an exciting experience. On Arab cinemas growing global reach The actor also reflected on the rising ambition of Arab cinema and its push to connect with viewers beyond the region. What I also found exciting was seeing the ambition and energy of Arab cinema today, and how it is opening itself up to a global audience without losing its own identity, he said. Riteish Deshmukhs Lock Upp wardrobe was a study in sharp, playful menswear!
As Lock Upp comes to an end, Riteish Deshmukh leaves behind more than his moments as the show's host. Across the season, his wardrobe proved that menswear can be polished without feeling predictable, with the actor moving comfortably between classic tailoring, bold colours, statement details and relaxed separates. From sharply cut suits to experimental jackets, his looks maintained a clear sense of structure while allowing room for personality. Here are eight outfits that stood out through the season. 1. Rust-Toned Double-Breasted Suit Riteish brought classic tailoring into focus with a rust-toned double-breasted suit. The earthy shade gave the otherwise traditional silhouette a contemporary update, while peaked lapels and a crisp white shirt kept the look refined. A brooch added a subtle decorative element, while sunglasses completed the outfit with a confident finish. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Riteish Deshmukh (@riteishd) 2. The Neon Green Statement Jacket Riteish wasn't afraid to experiment with colour. One of his most striking appearances came in a bright green jacket styled with black trousers and minimal accessories. The simplicity of the rest of the outfit allowed the jacket to remain the focal point. It was bold without becoming overly complicated. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Namrata (@namrata.deepak_) 3. Textured Brown-on-Brown Dressing Texture became the defining element of another look, where Riteish paired a distressed brown jacket with matching separates. The tonal dressing kept the outfit cohesive, while the worn-in texture added an element of ruggedness. The result was a relaxed take on coordinated dressing. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Riteish Deshmukh (@riteishd) 4. Beige Meets Black For a more understated appearance, Riteish opted for a beige zip-up jacket featuring subtle patterned detailing. Black trousers and dark sunglasses provided contrast, giving the outfit a clean and streamlined appearance. It was a reminder that neutral dressing can make an impact without relying on elaborate styling. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Riteish Deshmukh (@riteishd) 5. All-Black With a Horse Motif Riteish added personality to an otherwise classic all-black outfit with an embroidered horse motif. The design immediately drew attention while allowing the rest of the ensemble to remain relatively restrained. Rather than overwhelming the look, the motif worked as a statement detail against the dark palette. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aesha Merchant (@aeshy) 6. Black Suit With a Chain Detail Riteish took his tailoring in a more dramatic direction with a black double-breasted suit featuring metal chains across the chest. The unexpected accessory gave the structured suit an edgier character, almost resembling armour. It was a departure from conventional formalwear while retaining the sharpness of classic tailoring. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Aesha Merchant (@aeshy) 7. Lime Green and Chocolate Brown Colour blocking took a more earthy route with a lime green overshirt paired with chocolate brown trousers and a neutral inner layer. The combination created a balanced contrast, with the relaxed overshirt keeping the look casual while the tailored trousers added polish. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Namrata (@namrata.deepak_) 8. Brown Leather Jacket With a Twist Riteish also gave classic leather dressing a contemporary update with a rich brown leather jacket layered over a crisp white shirt and matching white tie. Blue denim brought a more casual element to the combination, creating an interesting contrast between formal and relaxed pieces. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Riteish Deshmukh (@riteishd) What made Riteish Deshmukh's Lock Upp wardrobe particularly interesting was its range. He moved from conventional double-breasted tailoring to neon outerwear, textured separates and statement accessories without losing a sense of consistency. The looks also demonstrated how relatively simple styling choices can change the character of an outfit. A brooch could sharpen a classic suit, a chain could transform formalwear into something more rebellious, while an unexpected colour combination could make everyday separates feel more considered. As Lock Upp signs off, Riteish may have hosted the show, but his wardrobe certainly managed to command attention of its own.
