The Hindi film industry is known for its interconnected film families, with several prominent surnames sharing both professional and personal ties. From the Kapoors and Bachchans to the Salim Khan, Allu, Konidela, Akkineni and Daggubati families, relationships between members of different film clans have often brought them closer. A similar connection between Amitabh Bachchan and Saif Ali Khan came to light during a recent episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar appeared together on the popular quiz show to promote their upcoming crime thriller Haiwaan, directed by Priyadarshan. During the episode, host Amitabh Bachchan revealed a family connection between himself and Saif, leaving both actors surprised. Amitabh Bachchan explains his connection with Saif Ali Khan While speaking to Saif, Amitabh Bachchan said, Many people dont know this, but he is related to me. Saif appeared surprised and responded, Me? Akshay Kumar was also taken aback by the revelation. Explaining the connection, Amitabh said, Raj Kapoors daughter Ritu Kapoors son, Nikhil Nanda, is married to my daughter, Shweta Bachchan. The connection stems from Saifs marriage to Kareena Kapoor Khan. Kareena is the daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and Randhir is Raj Kapoors son. This makes Kareena and Nikhil Nanda first cousins, linking Saifs family with the Kapoor family through marriage and, consequently, creating a connection with the Bachchan family. Amitabh then added a humorous question, saying, So, now I want to know, how should I address Kareena? What will Kareena call me? Saif responded with a witty remark: Thank god thats not a question (on KBC screen), leaving Amitabh and Akshay laughing. Amitabh and Kareena have previously worked together in films including Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Dev (2004) and Satyagraha (2013). He has also shared the screen with Saif in Eklavya: The Royal Guard (2007) and Aarakshan (2011). About Haiwaan Directed by Priyadarshan, Haiwaan also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Rajpal Yadav, Sharib Hashmi, Rajesh Sharma, Pahal Chaudhary and Manoj Joshi in key roles. The film is a remake of Priyadarshans 2016 Malayalam film Oppam, which starred Mohanlal in the lead role. The upcoming crime thriller features music by Pritam, cinematography by Divakar Mani, production design by Sabu Cyril and editing by Aiyappan Nair MS. Haiwaan is scheduled to release worldwide on Friday, September 11. Bhuvan Bam had to overcome an unexpected challenge while preparing to play revolutionary Rash Behari Bose in Prime Videos upcoming period drama The Revolutionaries. While the actor was required to embody the historical figure and participate in action sequences, learning to ride a horse proved to be a particularly difficult experience. Bhuvan recalled that his first horse-riding lesson at Juhu Beach took an unexpected turn when the horse he was riding suddenly ran away. The incident left him shaken and subsequently made him hesitant about getting back on a horse for the series. He shared, So they told me to learn horse riding. It was a horse, thats used for wedding functions, and they took me to Juhu Beach for training. So basically, what happened was that the caretaker was on a phone call and the horse simply ran off with me. That was my first day of horse-riding lessons. If I had fallen from there, I would probably still be bedridden today. I was literally hanging from the horse, and I was shivering for the next three days. The incident reached Sir (Nikkhil Advani) and he took stock of the situation, and I opened up to him and told him that Sir, the horse took me away without my permission! Its leg was stuck in some plastic, and it just kept running with me! He further added, The horse-riding scene hadnt come up yet and every day, I would wake up thinking, Today Ill tell Sir. Today Ill finally gather the courage and tell him that I cant do horse riding. Then there was a day when one scene went really well and sir was extremely happy. I thought, Today he is in a good mood, so I went to him and said, Sir, can I tell you something? Please dont make me ride the horse. Every day Im haunted by the thought that the horse might take me away again. However, the production eventually found a solution for an action sequence involving Rash Behari Bose and General Dyer, played by Jason Shah. Rather than having Bhuvan perform the horseback portion himself, the actor suggested switching the vehicles used by the two characters. Lets switch, said Bhuvan. By then, I had spoken to Dyer enough to know that he was a kick-ass horse rider. They had given him the bike and given me the horse. So I said, Sir, lets switch. He was such a good horse rider that, at times, the horse was actually overtaking the bike. And then we did it, and it was so swift! The Revolutionaries is inspired by true events and is set against the backdrop of India's freedom struggle. Created and directed for series by Nikkhil Advani, the period drama is produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. The series is based on Sanjeev Sanyal's book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom. The ensemble cast includes Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles, alongside Jason Shah, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury in key parts. The Revolutionaries will premiere on Prime Video on September 11. Also Read: The Revolutionaries: T-Series releases Jai Durga devotional anthem ahead of Prime Video series premiere

Sri Adhikari Brothers and Prasar Bharati are set to revive the iconic crime thriller Suraag with Suraag 2.0. The makers have now unveiled the first look of the reboot, with the series slated to premiere soon on DD National. The revival brings together Sri Adhikari Brothers and Doordarshan once again, marking a return to the platform that played an important role in the production house's early journey in Indian television. The collaboration is also significant for Sri Adhikari Brothers as it marks a reunion with Doordarshan. Kunal Kemmu, Chirag Nihalani, Preity G Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, Vanshika Dhir, Yashpal Sharma, Dinesh Lal Yadav and Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals, Prime Video (SVOD) and Amazon MGM Studios India, attended the trailer launch of their film Vibe at a multiplex in Mumbai. In the beginning of the event, Preity revealed that she has shot for 16 hours and even 18 hours a day for the film. Recently, there has been a huge debate on actresses asking for limited hours of work, especially after turning mothers. The debate ignited after Deepika Padukone repeatedly exited Spirit over difference of work hours. Preity Zinta was asked about and she said, To each its own. The reason I was working 18 hours was I wanted to finish my work as soon as I can, go back to America and be with my kids. So, I was okay. I told them, Ill come and I'll finish it. Bas mera kaam jaldi khatam kar do. That was my reason. She added, When you look at comedy, it's not like everyone's laughing on the sets. You want to get the job done. There was a lot of action and other variables. Sometimes, it was raining while at times he was sick (presumably referring to Kunal Kemmu). Keeping all that in mind, I didn't mind doing this because I am coming to India. I am coming for 30-40 days. Every single day I went to shoot, I came back. I didnt even go out for one single day or for even one evening. So, it was a tough shoot. She ended her answer by stating, If you all enjoy the film and laugh heartily, then the job is done (smiles). At the beginning of the event, Preity Zinta talked about Kunal Kemmu, who not only features in the film as the lead actor, but is also its director, He had a lot on his plate. It was not an easy shoot. We did 16- and 18-hour shifts back-to-back. When you see actors doing comedy on screen, they are not necessarily laughing during the shoot. But there were scenes where I had to be very serious. He (Kunal) didn't give me too many funny lines and I hold this against him! Hence, while delivering those serious dialogues, I had to think of all the sad things in my life so that I wouldn't end up laughing during the take! Full marks to Sparsh as well. I did one scene with him where I almost fell down laughing. Vibe releases in cinemas on September 18. Kunal Kemmus wife, actress Soha Ali Khan, made a rare appearance, and she rocked the show with her one-liner. A journalist asked Preity Zinta whether Kunal was serious on set while directing. He also requested Soha Ali Khan to appear on stage and let everyone know if Kunal Kemmu is funny in real life as well. First, Preity Zinta took the mic and she said, The one time when I saw Kunal was least stressed was when we shot the title track of Vibe. Thats because there was a choreographer and he was not directing. The same happened when he was doing action, as there was an action director. This is when he could fully focus on being an actor. Otherwise, it is very difficult to wear so many hats. Definitely, in those bits, he was very funny. She then handed over the mic to Soha Ali Khan and exclaimed, Over to Soha, youre in the spotlight, babe! View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bollywood Hungama (@realbollywoodhungama) Soha Ali Khan came on stage and stated, Firstly, congrats to the whole team. I am so proud that I am here. Main bas yeh kehna chahungi ki Kunal is usually the funniest person in the room, that too from both sides of our family. Preity G Zinta was shocked and asked, Really? Soha Ali Khan remarked, Youre so surprised (laughs). Soha then said, Shaadi ho ya funeral, hell make you laugh! As expected, there was laughter and applause for this statement. Vibe releases in cinemas on September 18. Also Read: VIBE Trailer: Kunal Kemmu and Sparsh Shrivastava turn unlikely heroes in high-stakes action comedy
Akshay Kumar has begun shooting for Samuk, an upcoming survival-action thriller directed by Kanishk Varma and produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah, along with co-producer Aashin A. Shah. The film, which is being mounted on a large scale for a pan-Indian theatrical release, has reportedly been in development for over two years. Samuk is set to combine elements of military realism, survival horror and alien mythology. The makers have also brought international talent on board to create the world and action of the film. Academy Award-nominated creature designer Alec Gillis, known for his work on films including Alien and Predator, is designing the central creature, while British action director Luke Tumber is overseeing the film's action sequences. The project marks another collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Vipul Amrutlal Shah, who have previously worked together across multiple genres. Their collaborations have included films such as Aankhen, Waqt: The Race Against Time, Namastey London, Singh Is Kinng, Action Replayy and Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty. Speaking about their decision to reunite for Samuk and the creative approach behind their collaborations, producer Vipul Amrutlal Shah said, The reason Akshay and I keep coming back to each other is that we have never wanted to make the same film twice. Every time we collaborate, the goal is to break our own mold, whether it was taking a risk with a heist thriller like Aankhen, exploring emotional drama with Waqt, capturing iconic romance in Namastey London, bringing massive action-comedy in Singh Is Kinng, experimenting with sci-fi in Action Replayy, or delivering military action in Holiday. We constantly challenge each other to step into unexplored territory. Reuniting for Samuk, which is an alien-survival thriller, proves yet again that we always bring something different to the table. With Samuk, the makers are looking to take their collaboration into a new genre space. The film aims to combine Akshay Kumar's star presence with international creature design and practical action, while maintaining a grounded approach to its survival-driven narrative. As the project progresses, further details about the film's storyline, ensemble cast and release plans are expected to be announced by the makers. Samuk is being positioned as a theatrical spectacle that brings together Indian filmmaking and international expertise in science-fiction and action. For audiences, Golu Gupta's love for books became one of the defining aspects of her personality in Mirzapur. Whether she was tucked away in a library or finding comfort in the pages of a novel, reading wasn't just a habit for Golu, it shaped the way she saw the world. What many may not know is that long before Golu came into her life, Shweta Tripathi had already built a relationship with books that looked remarkably similar. Looking back, Shweta says that Golu's love for reading was one part of the character that required very little preparation because it mirrored her own life so closely. The actor believes that her curiosity, independent way of thinking and desire to constantly learn are qualities she naturally shares with the much-loved character. Reflecting on the connection, Shweta said, Every actor hopes they'll meet a character who already understands a part of them. For me, that was Golu. Her love for books never felt like research because I'd been living with that habit for years. I've always been the person who walks into a bookstore saying, I'll just browse, and somehow walks out carrying at least three books. If there's one thing that has always connected Golu and me, its reading. Books have shaped the way I see people and the world around me. She added, As an actor, you're constantly trying to understand why someone behaves the way they do, and books allow you to step into hundreds of lives without leaving your own. They've made me less judgemental, more empathetic and endlessly curious. Golu and I also share that need to keep learning, asking questions and not accepting everything at face value. Where we're different is that Golu is much more reserved, while I'm someone who enjoys conversations and expressing what I feel. But at our core, that curiosity and love for discovering something new through every book is what connects us the most. For Shweta, books have never been just a hobby. They have quietly influenced the choices she has made, the characters she has connected with and the stories she wants to tell. That is perhaps why some of her most memorable characters, including Golu Gupta, carry the same love for reading that has been a part of her own life for years. Today, as Shweta continues to evolve both as an actor and a producer, books remain a constant companionforming a quiet thread that connects who she was before Mirzapur, who she became through Golu Gupta, and the storyteller she continues to grow into with every new chapter. Excel Entertainment and Amazon MGM Studios Mirzapur: The Movie is among the most awaited films in Indian cinema. The film marks the theatrical transition of the popular Mirzapur franchise, bringing its much-loved world to the big screen for the first time. Following the release of its teaser and trailer, anticipation around the film has further increased. As the film approaches its theatrical release, Excel Entertainment co-founder Ritesh Sidhwani is also marking 25 years in the Indian entertainment industry. Over the years, the production house has backed films across genres, with Sidhwani continuing to focus on stories that appeal to audiences. In a recent interview, Sidhwani was asked, How has Excel's run been in the last 25 years? And what makes you believe that a story must be told? Reflecting on Excel Entertainments journey, Ritesh Sidhwani said, Dil Chahta Hai birthed bromance and friendship films in the industry. We then went on to make Lakshya followed by Don and Honeymoon Travels. Each of them were different from the other. Over time, we realized that a production company should feature diverse voices. It shouldn't restrict itself to one particular genre, which many production houses tend to do. Till now, we only proceed with a film if we genuinely believe in the story 100%. However, there have been times when we believed in a project and it did not work. In those cases, we have always stood by our decisions. We have never gone back to the filmmaker and said, I told you this wouldn't work. He further added, We are fortunate that such great stories continue to choose Excel Entertainment and it's still going. Presented by Amazon MGM Studios and Excel Entertainment, Mirzapur: The Movie is directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna. The film is produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under the banner of Excel Entertainment, and co-produced by Kassim Jagmagia and Vishal Ramchandani. Mirzapur: The Movie is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 4, 2026. So, I saw all these things there and I understood that there is pain as well as happiness. The actor also spoke about how his experiences helped him develop a strong connection with the soil. Recalling his childhood and the loss of his brother, Jackie said, I became friends with the soil. I understood that my mother would water it, give it a little sunlightThen I realised, as I grew older, where did my brother go? He went into the soil. And when I understood that he had gone into the soil, I started becoming friends with the soil. I started loving my soil. I want to save topsoil, which is not there anymore. There was so much talk about topsoil for a while, and then everyone became quiet about it, he adds. Jackie further stressed the importance of understanding the role of topsoil in sustaining life and food production. He urged people to learn more about the Earth's resources and respect the environment. Every child should know that topsoil is the only thing that gives us food. Beneath it, there is all kinds of soil, but there is topsoil. How much topsoil do we actually have? Does anyone know? Look it up sometime in a book and see how much topsoil is actually left on Earth. We keep walking around, enjoying ourselves on this Earth, but we need to respect the Earth. We keep trampling it under our feet as we walk, but look at that Mother Earth. She is protecting us, he says. Concluding his thoughts, Jackie emphasised the need to maintain a healthy relationship with nature. When I go into the ground, everything will become part of the soil. So, lets be friends with the soil. Thats why we are here, basically. Enjoy your life, but dont enjoy life by doing things that you are not supposed to do. Do a little pleasure, a little dance, a little fun, spend time with friends, have little conversations about things - but focus more on what you guys are doing with he concluded. Shreya Ghoshal calls North America the longest and a landmark chapter in her Unstoppable Tour
Following successful legs across Europe, Australia and Asia, Shreya Ghoshal, one of Indias most celebrated and beloved voices, is set to embark on her spectacular The Unstoppable Tour 2026 across North America this September. The tour is being meticulously organized by leading U.S.-based global event company Intense Entertainment, owned by Manish Sood and Deepa Sahani Sood, Indian-born U.S. citizens who promise to make it a landmark musical experience for audiences. This tour marks the most important chapter in her ongoing global tour, as it will be her longest North American tour to date, spanning an extensive line-up of cities across the United States and Canada in a single month. This tour will cover 12 cities across the United States and Canada throughout September 2026. The tour will kick off in Boston on September 4, followed by Newark on September 5, Virginia on September 6, Columbus on September 9, Chicago on September 11, Toronto on September 13, Houston on September 18, Dallas on September 19, Austin on September 20, Seattle on September 24, the Bay Area on September 26, and conclude in Los Angeles on September 27, 2026. Another interesting aspect of the tour is that Shreya and her entire touring team will travel together between cities in sleeper coaches, a format rarely seen on this scale in America, with A.R. Rahman being among the few Indian artists known to have done something similar. Each night promises an unforgettable evening of Shreya Ghoshals chart-topping hits, powerful vocals and the electrifying energy of her celebrated live performances, bringing her music to the Indian diaspora and Bollywood music lovers across the United States and Canada. Expressing her enthusiasm about the tour, Shreya Ghoshal said, This tour holds a very special place in my heart and marks a landmark chapter in the whole Unstoppable journey. In a career spanning over two decades, this will be my longest tour across North America in a single month, and Im genuinely excited to be coming back. Im also very happy to be working with Manish, Deepa Sood and the entire Intense Entertainment team once again. When youre performing across so many cities in such a short span, having a team that understands you and makes the journey feel effortless means a lot. My last visit gave me some beautiful memories, and I had promised myself and my audiences that I would come back. Im so happy that Im finally keeping that promise. Theres something very special about performing here, especially as we head into the festive season, and Im looking forward to creating that mood and celebrating it with my audiences. Every night on stage reminds me of why I love what I do. Music has this incredible ability to bring people together, no matter where they come from or how far apart they are. There is a certain excitement that comes with experiencing an artist live, and we couldnt be happier to bring Shreya Ghoshal back to North America. The idea behind the Shreya Ghoshal Unstoppable Tour is to celebrate her incredible two-decade musical journey and the music that has become a part of so many memories. Were going all out to make this tour one of the biggest live Bollywood musical experiences the U.S. has ever seen, said Manish Sood, National Promoter and Founder of Intense Entertainment, who has previously helmed several high-profile international shows. The tour is being delivered in close coordination with Shreya Ghoshals management team, BToS, ensuring alignment across the extensive North American leg. With her beautiful and versatile vocal range, Shreya will enthrall audiences with iconic hits such as Teri Ore, Chikni Chameli, Varoon Forever, Re Mann, Duur Huye, Chaudhavi Shab, Shankaraay and many more. The Unstoppable Tour 2026 has already created a series of milestones in the history of Indian live music in North America, with Shreya Ghoshal becoming the only Indian female Bollywood singer to achieve these records. Torontos 15,000-capacity Scotiabank Arena sold out within two days of tickets going on sale, while Newarks 12,000-capacity Prudential Center sold out in just four days. The tour has also seen sold-out shows in Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Oakland and Los Angeles, with Seattle and Columbus witnessing exceptional demand despite being weekday shows. Houston, Dallas and Austin, where Indian audiences traditionally tend to buy tickets closer to the show date, are now also nearly sold out. What makes the response even more remarkable is that the entire 12-city tour has been marketed digitally, with no printed flyers, posters or standees used at grocery stores, restaurants or other traditional community outlets.
