Bigg Boss 20: Amrapali Dubey questions makers over alleged TV bias; asks, Baaki genres ke logon ko leke kyun aate ho?

Bigg Boss 20 has been witnessing discussions among contestants about screen time, visibility and representation inside the house. Amid the ongoing conversation, actress Amrapali Dubey questioned whether the makers of the reality show are more inclined towards television personalities despite bringing contestants from different entertainment backgrounds. During a recent conversation, Amrapali raised the issue of contestant representation and questioned why people from other genres are brought into the show if the makers are primarily interested in featuring television actors. She said, Toh aap aise bas kyun bula rahe ho? bol do na, TV waale log ka hi karna hai sabko. Itna hi TV-friendly hai toh TV ke hi logon ko leke aao, baaki genres ke logon ko leke kyun aate ho? Aasif Khan weighs in on contestant visibility Aasif Khan also joined the conversation and spoke about the audience's response to the housemates. He suggested that viewers are already supporting the contestants who are getting visibility and questioned the need for additional efforts to highlight those who may not be appearing as much. Aasif said, Hamare saath hi karna hai. Audience jab bada support kar rahi hai. Jo log nahi dikh rahe hain, unko dikhane ke liye Bigg Boss ko apni poori power lagani pad rahi hai. Jahan lagani hai, Bigg Boss ko sar se lekar idhar tak. Poori power lagani padegi, kyunki hum mein se toh saare dikh rahe hai, kisi ko bhi nahi bola gaya ki tum log nahi dikh rahe ho. Mehnat kar rahe hain, entertain kar rahe hain, hasa rahe hain, rula rahe hain public ko. The conversation comes amid a broader discussion inside the Bigg Boss 20 house about how contestants from different entertainment industries are represented on the reality show. Amrapali's comments specifically questioned the perceived preference for television personalities, while Aasif focused on the audience response to the contestants who are receiving screen time. It will be interesting to see if host Salman Khan will address this discussion and allegation on the coming Weekend Ka Vaar episodes. Bhumi Pednekar turns showstopper for Nazranaa at New York Fashion Week in red lehenga

Bhumi Pednekar has made her international runway debut at New York Fashion Week, taking the Indian fashion aesthetic to the global stage. The actress closed Nazranaas SS27 show, Samskriti 2.0, in New York, where she walked as the showstopper in a red velvet lehenga inspired by the Shri Ramakrishna Temple at Belur Math. Bhumi has previously walked several Indian fashion runways, and her appearance at New York Fashion Week marked a new addition to her fashion journey. For Nazranaas latest collection, she wore the Belur Math Lehenga, a design that draws inspiration from the architecture and philosophy of the Shri Ramakrishna Temple. According to the designer, the temple reflects the idea of universal faith by bringing together architectural influences associated with Hindu temples, mosques and churches. The same concept has been incorporated into the lehenga, which combines traditional Indian detailing with a contemporary runway presentation. The flared red velvet skirt featured intricate silver embroidery, shimmering embellishments and floral and traditional motifs across the silhouette. At the centre of the skirt was a swan motif, which holds particular significance in the design. According to the designer, the swan represents the Paramatman, or Supreme Self, and is featured at the heart of the emblem designed by Swami Vivekananda. Bhumi paired the skirt with a matching fitted blouse featuring a sweetheart neckline and delicate straps. She opted for a contemporary interpretation of the dupatta, styling the sheer red fabric in a cape-like drape around her arms, with the material trailing behind her as she walked the runway. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Nazranaa (@nazranaanj) The actress accessorised the ensemble with statement diamond jewellery, including a prominent necklace, stud earrings, a maang tikka and kadas. Her makeup featured a luminous base, defined eyes, rosy cheeks and glossy lips, while her hair was styled in middle-parted braids. With its traditional inspiration and contemporary styling, Bhumis NYFW appearance brought together elements of Indian design and runway fashion as she closed Nazranaas SS27 presentation. EXCLUSIVE: Damini Chopra on her play Jigsaw, You will never guess whats going to happen in the next minute

After studying theatre in Harvard, Damini Chopra is now all set to showcase various shades of herself as an actor in the upcoming play Jigsaw, which is premiering in Mumbai on Sunday September 20. It is written and directed by Bharat Dabholkar, who is also her co-star. In an exclusive chat with Bollywood Hungama, Damini recalled the interesting events that led to her casting in the play. I had reached out to Bharat Dabholkar way back in 2019, she said. He is a theatre veteran, I was new to Bombay and I wanted to work with him. I had done theatre at Harvard. We met, it was a promising meeting but nothing came out of it. As an actor, you follow up a few times or few months and then when you dont get a positive response, you drop it. Hence, she wasnt in touch with Dabholkar for a few years. I kept doing my work. Randomly a few months back he called me and said that he is looking for a lead girl and I am just perfect for it. He said he remembered that I had once auditioned. I said that was so many years ago. So, thats how this happened, revealed Damini. The actor described the play saying, Jigsaw is a one-thrill a minute play. You will never guess whats going to happen in the next minute. You would think you have figured it out but then you will have to look again. Despite the play being serious in nature, Damini had good fun while rehearsing it. Dabholkar sir doesnt carry the weight of his seniority and that makes such a huge difference. He is a great director. He protects you a lot from a lot of hassles that happen on sets. He keeps you focused on your job. So, that really helps. What a lot of people dont know is that he is a really fun guy. Even though this is a thriller and a serious play, we were laughing half way through the rehearsals, she said. In suspense thrillers, there is a chance that spoilers can be revealed on social media. Touching upon this challenge, Damini said, As an actor, especially when you are doing a suspense and thriller, the challenge is not how much are you going to hide it. The challenge is that every time you watch me, you should enjoy it as much. There is very little you can do to stop spoilers on social media. But what I can do as an actor and what I aim for is that every time you watch me, you have to enjoy. To achieve this, Damini revealed that they have ensured that no two performances of Jigsaw would be the same. We have practiced various versions of the same scene, she said. You will watch one version. Then when you come for the next version, you will realize that I am doing it differently. Apart from the play, Damini is also excited for her next project, which is in the international zone. There is something very interesting on the horizon, which is westwards, she said. I have studied theatre in Harvard. So, I have a network there. I was just there and I have shot for something, which we would be able to talk about very soon. That is in a spy-thriller zone. I have seen so much of Rosamund Pike growing up that I am manifesting characters like her. I can also attribute that to my physical training. I am an aerial silk artist and gymnast. Along with acting, Damini Chopra is also involved in her NGO, which is working with the Government of Maharashtra to take AI to vernacular medium students studying in Hindi, Marathi and Urdu. Acting and NGO both are my dreams. I am just happy to live my dream and I am just going to continue doing that, she signed off.

Bigg Boss 20: Mahhi Vij, Mary Kom lock horns after Love Gill provokes boxer over ration task, watch promo!

Bigg Boss 20 has begun, but the drama inside the house is already picking up pace. With groups taking shape and rivalries emerging among the contestants, Mahhi Vij and MC Mary Kom have now found themselves at the centre of an increasingly heated equation. A recently released promo hints at another confrontation between the two, this time over a task involving the house ration. The tension between Mahhi and Mary Kom began amid Mahhi's ongoing feud with Yung DSA. During the captaincy task, Mahhi chose not to support Yung despite their previously cordial equation. She explained her decision by pointing out that Yung had already served as the house captain and that other contestants should also get a fair opportunity to compete for the position. While Yung was disappointed by Mahhi's decision, the situation escalated after Mary Kom allegedly presented a different version of Mahhi's conversation to the other housemates. Mary also claimed that Mahhi had abused Yung, which further added to the tension between the contestants. Mahhi Vij struggles to name Mary Kom in ration task The latest promo takes the rivalry a step further. In the upcoming episode, Bigg Boss calls Mahhi Vij, Uditi Singh and Aashif Khan into the 2X room and gives them an opportunity to win 75 per cent of the house ration. However, the contestants are given a condition. To secure the ration, they must reduce or remove the 'Jeevandan' lifeline of one contestant. As the trio discusses the decision, Mahhi appears to struggle while taking Mary Kom's name. She is seen asking Uditi for the boxer's name while deciding whose lifeline should be affected. The moment appears to set the stage for another confrontation. Later in the promo, Love Gill is seen approaching Mary Kom and talking to her about the decision made during the task. His conversation with Mary seemingly provokes her, eventually leading to a verbal altercation between Mary and Mahhi. View this post on Instagram A post shared by JioHotstar Reality (@jiohotstarreality) The exchange adds another layer to the growing rivalry between the two contestants, who have already found themselves on opposite sides of multiple disagreements inside the house. Viewers take sides in Mahhi-Mary Kom clash Since the beginning of Bigg Boss 20, some viewers have also discussed Mary Kom's personality and her comments inside the house. In an earlier episode, while speaking to fellow contestants, Mary referred to herself as a legend and suggested that nobody could be better than her. The latest promo has once again triggered a discussion around her attitude among viewers. Several users in the comments section appeared to support Mahhi and praised her for standing up for herself during the confrontation. At the same time, some viewers criticised Mary Kom over what they perceived as an overly assertive attitude and a tendency to look down on other contestants. The reactions remain divided, but the promo suggests that the Mahhi Vij and Mary Kom rivalry is far from over. With the house dynamics changing rapidly, their equation could become one of the talking points of the ongoing season. Kareena Kapoor Khan says Ajooni from Daayra breaks the female cop stereotype: She isn't someone who resorts to guns challenge hona bahut zaroori hota hai

Kareena Kapoor Khan has described her role as police officer Ajooni in Daayra as a different shade in her career. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film explores the conflict between the law and the delivery of justice, placing its characters in situations where the line between right and wrong is not always clear. The film stars Kareena and Prithviraj Sukumaran as police officers who find themselves on opposing sides while investigating a case set against the backdrop of juvenile crime. According to the makers, Daayra is inspired by true events. Speaking about the moral conflict at the centre of the story, Kareena referred to a line written by Gulzar. Jaise Gulzar Sahab ne likha tha in the song, 'sach ka daayra toh badalte rehta hai, she said, explaining the challenge of remaining aligned with Ajooni's perspective. It was difficult for me also to stay on track with Ajooni because there is always going to be a conflict. Im sure as a director Meghna felt that while writing it, Im sure Prithviraj's character, Raman, has felt that. So, it is very difficult, she added. Kareena said that while she personally prefers clarity, the film operates in a morally grey space. But as a person, I walk the straight line. I like to believe in life that it's black and white. But in the film, it is grey. That is for sure, she said. Ajooni's character also moves away from the conventional portrayal of female police officers in Hindi cinema. Kareena said the role was conceived as feminine, composed and firm rather than centred around action sequences. There has traditionally been a stereotypical format for female cops where she has to be butch, walk in a certain masculine way, and pick up a gun to do high-octane action, Kareena said. According to the actor, Meghna wanted Ajooni to be unapologetically feminine, while remaining firm in her principles. Ajooni isn't someone who resorts to guns and typical action heroics; that is simply not her character, she said. Meghna Gulzar explained that the film's central conflict comes from the overlap between the strict interpretation of law and the pursuit of justice. The moral conundrum overlaps on both ends, the strict letter of the law versus the delivery of justice, she said. The filmmaker added that although law, justice, crime and punishment appear as recurring themes in her work, her primary interest is the human aspect of such stories. It is purely coincidence; it is not by design. What attracts me to a story is the human quotient, what happens to the human emotion in that circumstance, she said. Prithviraj, who plays DCP Raman Kumar, also highlighted the film's grey zone. I don't agree with the entirety of Raman's actions, nor do I completely disagree with him, and the same applies to Ajooni, he said. The actor added that his decision to be part of Daayra was influenced by the larger issue explored by the story. Certain stories stand for a cause far larger than individual actors, and Daayra is one of them, Prithviraj said. Kareena Kapoor Says Ajooni Breaks the Stereotype of Female Cops in Daayra Kareena also compared the film with her association with Rohit Shetty's cop universe, describing the two approaches as distinct. Every director operates in a different universe, she said, calling Shetty's world larger-than-life and Meghna's grounded, realistic, and complex. As an actor, I feel fortunate to straddle both worlds comfortably, Kareena added. Reflecting on her career, Kareena said experimenting with different roles continues to be important to her after 25 years in the industry. I think as an actor, challenge hona bahut zaroori hota hai, especially after 25 years of work, she said. She also described playing Ajooni as an honour and said the character represents a different shade in her filmography. Daayra is set to release in theatres on September 18. The film follows the aftermath of a crime that sparks public outrage and sets two investigations in motion. Kareena and Prithviraj's characters navigate the same system through different approaches to duty and justice, as the case challenges conventional ideas of right and wrong. EXCLUSIVE: Is Maa 2 happening? Mahakali and Fauzi actor Jitin Gulati says, Theres always a possibility...these stories lend themselves to different versions

After working in Broken But Beautiful, Bambai Meri Jaan, Kajol-starrer Maa (2025), etc., Jitin Gulati will next be seen in two Pan-India projects Mahakali, co-starring Akshaye Khanna, and Prabhas-starrer Fauzi. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, the talented actor explained how these films should benefit him, and also opened up on the possible sequel to Maa. Both Mahakali and Fauzi are Pan-India films and will be seen by a large section of moviegoing audiences across the country. When asked whether he hopes to get more author-backed roles from now on, the actor replied, Thats always the hope. I am just grateful because whatever I am doing in Telugu is possible because I have learned a lot while working on the Hindi films I did before. I have worked with varied directors, from Neeraj Pandey to Habib Faisal to Gurmmeet Singh to Bejoy Nambiar. Today, I am able to work in bigger setups simply because I have learned so much from these directors. So, the hope is that I move forward from here and I move upwards from here. I also hope I get better author-backed roles in Hindi as well. But I am not limiting myself to Bollywood. As we speak, I am chasing work in Tamil, Malayalam and other regional cinema as well (smiles). Wherever there is good work and a good director, I want to be a part of that. Last year, Jitin Gulati was seen in Maa in the role of a cop. The horror film did decent business at the box office and also garnered healthy viewership on Netflix. Jitin remarked, Every film that does well, is watched by a large number of people and, especially, features a known superstar benefits you. Maa had Kajol, and now I have worked with Akshaye Khanna and Prabhas in Mahakali and Fauzi, respectively; that always helps. A large number of people watch these films and, because of them, actors like me also get noticed. So, Maa did benefit me a lot. It was a theatrical success and did very well on Netflix as well. Is Kajol intimidating, as she is sometimes perceived to be? Jitin Gulati instantly replied, No. Shes very true to herself and people view it as being intimidating. But shes literally very easy to work with and shes very genuine as a person. For her, black is black (laughs). Because she doesnt mince her words, people find that intimidating. Otherwise, shes a joy to work with. There have been reports that a sequel to Maa is being planned. When asked about it, the actor replied, For that, you should check with either Devgn Films or Vishal Furia sir. They would be able to confirm. He continued, Theres always a possibility because stories like these lend themselves to different versions. However, the makers would know better. Finally, we asked him about his future projects. Jitin Gulati answered, Currently, I am in the middle of shooting Fauzi. Besides, I have shot a bit for a Hindi film. Ill finish shooting for it most probably this year or early next year. Itll release in 2027 as well. Itll be my first lead role in Hindi. Its a very good part and I'm quite kicked about it (smiles). Celina Jaitly shares heartbreaking throwback picture with parents, brother and sons: I have lost my most valuable treasures

Celina Jaitly has shared an emotional throwback photograph featuring several of the people she has described as her most valuable treasures. The actor shared the picture on social media on September 17, reflecting on loss, family and the pain of looking back at moments that can no longer be recreated. The photograph features Celina with her late parents, her brother Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, and her twin sons Winston and Viraaj Haag. Her younger son Arthur, who was not yet born when the photograph was taken, is absent from the frame. Sharing the picture, Celina wrote, #alone : I am unsure which pain was worse.. the shock of what happened or the ache for what never will. She went on to reflect on the series of personal losses her family has experienced and how the photograph has taken on a different meaning with time. I still cannot believe the tragedies that have struck our family. In the blink of an eye, I find myself staring at a photograph surrounded by my most valuable treasures ( only Arthur is missing he wasnt born yet) Celina Jaitly reflects on family, loss and memories The actor described the photograph as a reminder of a life that once felt ordinary, but has since been marked by significant changes and loss. I find myself in a script I didnt sign up for.. A story only possible in films.. Celina also spoke about how everyday family relationships can sometimes be taken for granted, only for their importance to become clearer after loss. We take our relationships for granted. Our parents, our siblings, our children We go about our days complaining so passionately about the smallest things, never imagining that the ordinary moments we barely notice will one day become everything we long for. She added, Then life hits, and the world we knew is gone. Yet there is the photograph. Those faces. That love. And the unbearable longing to step inside it, just once more. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Celina Jaitly (@celinajaitlyofficial) A family marked by multiple losses Celina has experienced the loss of both her parents within a span of less than a year. Her father, Colonel Vikram Kumar Jaitly, a retired Indian Army officer, died on July 2, 2017, following a prolonged illness. Her mother, Dr. Meeta Jaitly, a child psychologist and literature professor, died on June 8, 2018, after battling cancer. The actor also lost her son Shamsher, one of her twin boys born in 2017. Shamsher died shortly after birth due to hypoplastic left heart syndrome, a severe congenital heart condition. His twin brother Arthur survived. Celina has previously spoken publicly about the impact of losing Shamsher and has continued to remember him through social media posts. Her recent family photograph comes at a particularly difficult period in her personal life. She is currently involved in divorce and custody proceedings with her estranged husband Peter Haag. Celina has publicly spoken about being separated from her three surviving sons, Winston, Viraaj and Arthur, who are in Austria. She has also expressed distress over missing important moments in their lives, including the beginning of the new school year. Celina Jaitlys ongoing family struggles Alongside the custody dispute, Celina has also been seeking information and communication concerning her brother, Major (Retd.) Vikrant Kumar Jaitly, who has been detained in the UAE since September 2024. The Delhi High Court had considered her petition seeking assistance and communication with him. In March 2026, the court closed that petition after a statement attributed to Vikrant during a consular visit was placed on record saying he did not wish to communicate with his sister. Celina has continued to speak publicly about the emotional toll of the circumstances surrounding her family. In a recent post about her brother, she referred to her parents no longer being alive and described him as someone whose absence has deeply affected her. In her latest post, however, Celina's focus remained on the photograph and what it represents to her. Reflecting on questions that have remained unanswered, she wrote, I dont know whether this is karma from a past life or some incomprehensible journey of the soul. No answer brings me comfort. No explanation makes the absence easier to bear. Concluding her note, she said, I have lost my most valuable treasures and this, my heart cannot accept. Alia Bhatt reveals one Mahesh Bhatt quirk that annoys her: Now I do the exact same thing

Soni Razdan is currently promoting her recently released film Om Ka Hari, but a recent social media post gave fans a glimpse into her family dynamic with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and daughter Alia Bhatt. On September 17, Soni shared a video of Alia, seemingly recorded after a screening of the film, where the actor was asked about one quirk of her father that annoys her. Alia pointed out that having a conversation with her father can sometimes become confusing because he has a habit of mixing up the names of people around him. Its very difficult to have a smooth, easy, free-flowing conversation when he forgets who he's talking to and then calls me Shaheen and then sometimes Soni and then some other people that I've never heard of and then does the same thing with everyone else, Alia said. However, Alia admitted that what once annoyed her has now become a habit she has picked up herself. She added, But lo and behold, the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree, and now I do the exact same thing. So what's annoying is I've picked up on this quirk, and I've become this quirk. The conversation took another affectionate turn when Alia was asked when she had last told her father that she loved him. Instead of answering from memory, she decided to call him. Mahesh Bhatt happened to be at the same premises, at a preview theatre, and Alia called him on the spot. She then told him, I love you daddy. That was the last time. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Soni Razdan (@sonirazdan) Alia Bhatt on Mahesh Bhatts theatrical side Alia has previously spoken about her fathers distinctive personality and the memories she associates with growing up around him. In an earlier anecdote, she recalled how Mahesh Bhatt would use dramatic gestures to make ordinary moments memorable. My father is very theatrical and that sometimes makes for great memories. For example, when I was in 1st standard, I had a spelling test and I was worried I was, for some reason, going to forget the spelling of the. My father made it a point to build into my memory, so he did some overbearing gesture to teach me the spelling so I dont forget it. But I remember him being this, like, grizzly bear, highly theatrical and highly entertaining, she had said. Soni Razdan is part of Om Ka Hari, which releases theatrically on September 18. Directed by Harish Vyas and backed by First Ray Films, the film stars Anshuman Jha and Raghubir Yadav in the titular roles of Om and Hari. Alia Bhatt recalls Rahas first word and her fight with Ranbir Kapoor over the milestone: I have it on video. So anybody who needs proof

Alia Bhatt has often spoken about how motherhood changed her life, and in a 2024 interview with Allure, the actor opened up about some of her most memorable moments with daughter Raha. From describing her daughters birth as the most precious moment of her life to recalling the playful competition between her and Ranbir Kapoor over Rahas first word, Alia offered a glimpse into their family life. Alia Bhatt recalls Ranbir Kapoors fight over Rahas first word While talking about Rahas early milestones, Alia revealed that she and Ranbir had a rather adorable disagreement at home over whether their daughter would say mama or papa first. The backstory is there was a fight at home (about) Whether she is going to say mama first or whether she is going to say papa first. So, of course, mama was like (say), mama, mama, mama, and papa was like (say), papa, papa, papa. And when she said that, it was just me and her, I immediately pulled out my phone and said, say it say it again, what did you just say. Raha eventually said mama first, much to Alias delight. The actor also revealed that she made sure to capture the moment on camera, giving the family a permanent record of the milestone. She added, We take great joy and pride in that moment. So, I remember that moment very clearly and I have it on video. So anybody who needs proof, she said mama first. Alia calls Rahas birth the most precious moment of her life In the same interview, Alia also opened up about the day Raha was born, describing it as an experience she would never forget. Alia said, Ill never forget in my life, no matter what happens, is the day our daughter was born. I wont forget the moment where we first heard her sound. It was unreal. When I heard her voice, I felt like I had met God or something. It was so emotional, sort of surreal. The minute she was put on to me, I just felt an immediate dam of love sort of burst open in our life and it just felt safe and it felt like my purpose had been met. (Ill) never ever forget that day. Alia and Ranbir welcomed their daughter on November 6, 2022. Since then, the couple have largely kept Raha away from the spotlight, while occasionally sharing glimpses of their family life.
