Legendary singer Asha Bhosle passed away earlier this year on April 12 at the age of 92. Today happens to be her 93rd birth anniversary. She left behind a legacy which will be celebrated for eternity. But apart from singing thousands of songs in various languages, Bhosle also acted in the Hindi film Mai, where she played the titular role. Interestingly, the movie starred Bhosles niece and veteran actor Padmini Kolhapure as her daughter. Kolhapure spoke about Bhosle and her experience of acting with her in an exclusive interview she gave Bollywood Hungama at the end of May this year. Kolhapure shared why Mai means a lot to her. Thanks to Asha aatya that I got my first film Ishq Ishq Ishq as a kid, she said. I came a full circle when I did Mai with her. We worked together. She said that she will only work in that film if Padmini is a part of it. We interacted so much. She was very close to my father. So, she would tell me all those wonderful stories of their young and masti days. So, whether it was her or Lata (Mangeshkar) ji, they would just keep telling me all those wonderful stories. She added, It was great working with her. If you see the film, she has done such a brilliant job. Kolhapure said that Bhosle and Mangeshkar are always going to be immortal. When I think of Asha aatya, so many things come to my mind. Theres not just, 1, 2, 20 or 50 things. When we say she is not with us, it just doesnt seem real. The persona and work of Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle, who have been my aunts, has been so great that its just going to be there for eternity. For me, they are like living legends only because we still hear their songs every single day. Sharing an example, she said, I met Ashutosh Gowariker recently and he said my mornings begin with Asha jis and night ends with Lata jis songs. He said that is there and thats never going to change. Shortly after the passing away of Asha Bhosle, Bollywood Hungama spoke with Mahesh Kodiyal, the director of Mai, on his experience of directing the singing legend in her first and only film. After narrating how he cast Bhosle, he said, At times, Asha tai used to feel how she would enact such an emotional scene. At that time, I used to ask Padmini to make her comfortable. She used to give a fantastic take. But still she didnt used to be happy with it. She used to say, Nahin re, maine barabar nahin kiya. I used to say just that she did is a big thing. The current storyline has taken a dramatic turn following the death of Rudra, played by Ayushh Shrivastava. In a conversation with Shekhar Suman, the actor spoke about the uncertainty he experienced while trying to find substantial work, while maintaining that he never doubted his abilities as a performer. Siddiqui explained that his determination came from having committed himself entirely to acting. Recalling the mindset that helped him navigate the difficult phase of his career, he said, It was that we had no other option. Nor did we keep one. It was an absolute do or die. It was do or die. It was like we will only do this, even if it takes 50 years, if we are at it. Yes, we will stay at it. There was a stubbornness and belief too. There was a belief that the day we get it, we will show them that day. That was there. The belief was there because you had practiced so much on acting. Yes, yes absolutely. So there was not even a slight doubt about this thing. But with me, there is no doubt about the skill, the doubt is whether I got the opportunity or not. Yes, now of course I got it.. in Sarfarosh, I got a 40-second role. 40 seconds, yes, so for those 40 seconds I had enough confidence that when my 40 seconds come, I will bring everything to a halt, people will only watch me. Rather than viewing the limited duration as a reason to hold back, Siddiqui saw those 40 seconds as an opportunity to put his years of preparation into practice. Prime Video has unveiled the teaser of its upcoming MX Original series Waiting Hai, a dramedy that explores the familiar struggle of securing a confirmed railway ticket through the lens of a nationwide scam. Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jar Pictures, the series is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans. The series features Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora in the lead, alongside Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Harshita Gaur, Srushti Tare and Sunita Rajwar in pivotal roles. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai, Waiting Hai combines elements of mystery, humour and crime against the backdrop of Indias railway ticketing system. As he begins investigating the matter, the story introduces Bhuvan Aroras character, a tech-savvy hacker who appears to have his own connection to the ticketing racket. The teaser sets up a cat-and-mouse dynamic between Sugam and the hacker as the investigation gradually takes him closer to the people allegedly operating the scam. With the railway waiting list serving as the starting point, Waiting Hai looks to turn an everyday travel frustration into a larger mystery. The teaser combines situational humour with elements of investigation, while the contrasting personalities of the police officer and hacker form the central dynamic of the series. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, Waiting Hai marks another project that blends comedy with a crime-driven narrative. The filmmaker, who has previously helmed films including Anandi Gopal and Satyaprem Ki Katha, brings the story to the screen as a desi scam dramedy. Saif Ali Khan is set to return to the big screen with Haiwaan, which is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 11. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks Saifs first collaboration with the filmmaker and also brings him back on screen with Akshay Kumar after 18 years. While details about the plot have largely been kept under wraps, Saif has now opened up about filming an intense action sequence for the film. In Haiwaan, Saif plays a visually impaired character who is also trained in martial arts. Speaking about one of the action sequences, the actor revealed that the scene involves his character being attacked before eventually retaliating. It's a scene with a great build-up because the characters torture and bash up my character, kicking and slapping him. As an audience, you want him to retaliate which he eventually does, Saif teased the role. The actor also discussed the physicality involved in shooting the sequence and credited stunt master Silva for choreographing the fight. According to Saif, the scene was filmed without extensive use of visual effects or stunt doubles. He went on to add, That fight was really well choreographed by Silva and there's no special effects added to it, there were no duplicates. There's very little fakery in these scenes. The room has broken glass everywhere. It was very raw and kind of violent and it was utterly exhausting because after that I had to lie down for two days. Saif further explained that the sequence did not rely on CGI or harness-based action and admitted that the physical demands left him exhausted. I thought I was alright but I was exhausted because that is how intense the action scene was. It's wasn't CGI or harness backed action scenes, the fight scene is just raw. It was really lots of fun to perform, she shared. While Saif had requested training ahead of the sequence, he said there was not much preparation in the lead-up to the shoot. Instead, he rehearsed some of the movements with the stunt director before filming. There wasn't much prep before the scene. I had asked for training, but it didn't work out like that. However, we did rehearse a couple of moves but the idea was to make it very raw. I remember, after the scene was shot, there was a lot of glass pieces on the floor from the broken photo frames and cupboards being smashed, he recalled. Saif also acknowledged that the physical nature of the sequence came with some minor injuries, while highlighting how the action is connected to the narrative. Luckily not too many injuries but there's always some cuts and bruises. However, the scene lands well in the film owing to the plot because you want him to bash those people who are being up after they've been so bad to him so it's really nicely done Silva is a master, Saif concluded. Haiwaan also stars Boman Irani, Sayami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in crucial roles. The film is slated to release in cinemas on September 11. Following the development, Celina maintained that her primary concern had always been her brothers safety and well-being. She also suggested that his decision not to communicate with her could have been an effort to protect her from further emotional distress. With The Fix only days away from its theatrical release, Elnaaz Norouzi is stepping into a new chapter in her international career. For Elnaaz, The Fix marks a very different kind of milestone. Zara isnt simply a character passing through the story. Rohit Saraf is set to portray revolutionary Sachindra Nath Sanyal in Prime Videos upcoming period drama series The Revolutionaries. The actor has undergone an extensive physical transformation for the role, following director Nikkhil Advanis vision for his appearance as a young revolutionary. Speaking about his preparation for the series, Rohit revealed that the physical aspect of the character required nearly 15 months of work. He also underwent around three months of training in traditional physical disciplines, including Mallakhamb and Kushti. Primarily, my preparation was physical. It took me almost 15 months to transform my body, while the training in different art forms for the series lasted about three months, he said. Saraf went on to continue, When I met Nikkhil sir for the first time, he told me he wanted me to have a physique like Brad Pitt in Fight Club. And I remember thinking, I was active, I was fit, but I was definitely not Brad Pitt from Fight Club. So a huge part of the preparation was getting my body to where he envisioned it for the character. Beyond that, he also wanted me to learn Mallakhamb, Kushti and other forms of physical training. The sessions were intense and, in all honesty, pretty gruelling. I would constantly send Nikkhil sir videos of what we were doing, and I think what I enjoyed most was seeing, bit by bit, how all of that training was changing the way I looked and moved. Rohits physical transformation is part of his preparation to step into the world of the freedom struggle and portray Sanyal, a revolutionary figure associated with Indias independence movement. With lyrics penned by Kunaal Vermaa, the song explores themes of love, warmth and romance. Following the release of Undi Bundi and Kaho Toh, Gaurav Vermas Avanika Films has unveiled Tu Mera Raiyyo as the third song from the films album. The track features Veer Pahariya and Aafiya Sayed and adds another romantic element to the films music. Sachet and Parampara recently shared a glimpse of the song through a social media performance, giving listeners a taste of their vocals and the melody. Speaking about Tu Mera Raiyyo, Sachet Tandon and Parampara Tandon say, Tu Mera Raiyyo will make you fall in love all over again as it captures the innocence of love and warmth, making it one of the biggest songs of the year.
