Operation Safed Sagar has reached the No. 2 position on Netflixs Global Top 10 Non-English TV List, according to the streaming platform. The six-episode series have remained on the list for two consecutive weeks and has entered the Top 10 across 40 countries, while ranking No. 1 in 10 countries. The development comes as Netflix announces The Last Salute, a documentary centred on the MiG-21 fighter aircraft and its 62-year association with the Indian Air Force. Produced by Matchbox Shots and directed by Kushal Srivastava, the documentary will premiere exclusively on Netflix on August 26. Operation Safed Sagar, produced by Matchbox Shots and Feel Good Films, is inspired by the Indian Air Forces role during the 1999 Kargil War. The series follows the events surrounding the conflict and focuses on the personnel involved in the operation. The show has also received recognition from the Indian Air Force, with Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh, describing it as being very close to reality and noting its portrayal of the atmosphere during the Kargil War. The MiG-21 features prominently in the aerial sequences of Operation Safed Sagar. The aircraft was flown by the Golden Arrows Squadron during the Kargil War, and the series also marks its final filmed appearance in action before its retirement from service. The Last Salute shifts the focus from the events depicted in the series to the aircraft itself. The documentary will feature Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh along with pilots who flew the MiG-21 during different periods of its service. Tumbbad 2 makers find original 'Atte Ki Gudiya moulds, lock opener from first film during recce
The team of Tumbbad 2 recently made an unexpected discovery while scouting locations for the upcoming sequel. During a recce at the wada where the first film was shot, the team found original props and elements that had been used during the making of Tumbbad. Among the items discovered were the original moulds used to create the film's iconic atte ki gudiya. The moulds had reportedly remained at the location since the first film's shoot. The team also came across the original lock opener from the wada, another element that had featured in Tumbbad. A crew member recalled the moment of discovery and said, We had gone to the wada purely for the recce and didnt expect to come across anything from the first film. When we found the atte ki gudiya moulds, there was an instant sense of nostalgia because these were things we had actually used while making Tumbbad. Then we discovered the original lock opener as well. It was quite surreal to see these things still there after all these years. In a way, it felt like the location had preserved little pieces of the film for us to find when we came back. The discovery comes as the team prepares to return to the world established by the 2018 film. Starring Sohum Shah, Tumbbad developed a cult following for its folklore-inspired narrative, distinctive production design and atmospheric visuals. The film also returned to cinemas in 2024, finding a new audience and performing strongly at the box office. The sequel has further raised expectations with Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Alia Bhatt joining the cast. Actor-producer Sohum Shah announced their association with Tumbbad 2 in July. Sohum Shah is leading the project under his banner Sohum Shah Films in collaboration with Pen Studios. Adesh Prasad is directing the sequel. For Randeep Hooda, photography has been closely connected with the way he observes the world. His interest in the medium began with his fascination for wildlife and forests, eventually influencing how he approached filmmaking and visual composition. Hooda has often spoken about how photographing nature helped him develop a better understanding of framing. According to the actor-filmmaker, experimenting with composition through a still camera eventually became useful when he stepped behind the camera to direct. The composition that I experiment with on my camera helped me in framing the film shots, from bringing attention to certain parts of the frame to how to make an aesthetic framing, Hooda said. His interest in photography developed through his visits to forests, where he initially went simply to experience nature. Over time, carrying a camera changed the way he observed his surroundings. Earlier I used to go to the jungle and enjoy the beauty. Then I brought a camera, he recalled. That experience became particularly relevant when Hooda made his directorial debut with Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. His familiarity with light, composition and visual details through photography helped him approach filmmaking with a more considered eye. However, Hooda also believes the widespread availability of cameras has changed how photographs are perceived. With smartphones making photography accessible to almost everyone, he feels the sheer volume of images has affected their value. Now everybody gets to capture what they like, but the value of a photograph has also diminished because they are available in abundance. The reverence of that one superbly framed shot has become less, he said. Despite this, his connection with wildlife photography continues. For Hooda, spending time in nature remains an exercise in observation, where waiting for the right moment and composition can be as important as capturing it. Businessman-turned-actor Raj Kundra has opened up about one of the most difficult phases of his life, recalling an emotional breakdown he experienced while he was in jail in 2021. Kundra, who is married to actor Shilpa Shetty, was arrested over allegations related to the creation and distribution of pornographic films and was granted bail in September that year. Years after his arrest, Raj spoke about how reports suggesting that Shilpa was planning to divorce him deeply affected him while he was behind bars. Recalling the period, he said he was already struggling to deal with his circumstances when he came across reports about the state of his marriage. Speaking to ABP, Raj said, Bohot tootha hoon, I was managing. One day, news came through the media; as I later found out, Shilpa Shetty Raj Kundra ko chodd rahi hai, divorce de rahi hai. According to Raj, the reports left him devastated. He said he could not sleep that night and began questioning the purpose of his life. Describing the intensity of his emotional state, he revealed that his family and wife meant everything to him and admitted, Genuinely felt like suicide kar du. The situation reportedly changed the next day when Raj got an opportunity to speak to Shilpa over the phone. He said she immediately reassured him that the reports were untrue and told him that she was with him and trusted him. Her response helped him cope with the situation at a particularly difficult time. Raj also recalled the challenging conditions he faced during his 63 days at Arthur Road Jail. He described the food as difficult to eat and said that he largely survived on Parle-G biscuits and water during his time there. Reflecting on the physical impact of his imprisonment, Raj claimed that he lost around 17-18 kilos during his stay in jail. Karisma Kapoor and choreographer Geeta Kapur recently revisited their long-standing association during an episode of Indias Best Dancer Season 5. The two shared memories from the early days of their careers, including their first meeting on the sets of Dil To Pagal Hai and their experiences working together on stage shows. The actor has undergone an intense physical transformation to portray a bigger, stronger and more imposing version of the character on the big screen. Reprising the role that made Guddu Pandit a popular character in the Mirzapur franchise, Ali is taking the character from the streaming platform to cinemas. Mirzapur The Movie also marks the franchises transition from the digital space to the big screen, expanding the world and characters of the series into a feature film. For his return as Guddu Bhaiya, Ali worked extensively on his physique to reflect the characters established background as a wrestler. The actor focused on building muscle while also improving his strength, agility and overall physicality to suit the scale of the film. His preparation involved strength and conditioning as well as combat training under an experienced wrestling expert. Beyond his physique, Ali also worked on his movement and fighting techniques to make Guddus physical presence appear convincing during the films action sequences. For me, this transformation wasn't just a physical challenge; it was another way of getting under the skin of a character I have lived with for years. Bringing him to the big screen has been a completely different experience, and I think audiences are going to see a Guddu they recognise, but also a version of him that they haven't seen before. The Bhaukaal is definitely bigger this time. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Hungama, Ravi Adhikari, chairman of Sri Adhikari Brothers (SAB) Television Network Ltd, addressed these similarities and a lot more. When asked if Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah was inspired by their popular 90s show, Ravi Adhikari said, Yes, it does seem like an inspiration. Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hai follows that template even more closely. But a man being attracted to another persons wife is a very relatable idea. You cant call it a copy. Its a case of the grass always being greener on the other side. Whats important, however, is ensuring that the characters dont cross the line, and Shrimaan Shrimati, as well as the other two shows, have taken care of that. Gautam Adhikaris record-breaking achievement As per the official website of SAB Television Network Ltd, Ravi Adhikaris father, the late media pioneer Gautam Adhikari (director and co-founder of the Sri Adhikari Brothers Group), found a place in the Limca Book of Records. On this, Ravi said, Yes. He received that honour for directing as many as 1,700 episodes. No one has been able to break that record yet. He added, Interestingly, he passed away at the age of 67 and had started his career only at 36. Moreover, he wasnt active during the last 10 years of his life due to health reasons. That effectively gives you a span of 21 years. Even during those 21 years, he wasnt working continuously and was occupied with several other things. So, one can safely say that he directed those 1,700 episodes in around 17 years. There are 52 weeks in a year, which means 884 weeks over 17 years. To direct 1,700 episodes in that period means he was directing nearly two episodes every single week!
