The mediapersons were an annoyed lot as the event started 1 hours and 45 minutes late. However, Ayushmann apologized for the delay and said that he was stuck in heavy traffic. Ayushmann Khurrana assured that its a film like no other. He said, I don't think you can compare this movie to any other film because this is a genre bender for me. For me, it's India's first patriotic comedy! You have seen many spy films. This is a take on those spy films. Aisi film kabhi bani nahin hai. I even told Aakash, 'How did u think of this film?'. It's Aakash's brainchild and I loved working on the film. Ayushmann Khurrana continued, When you'll see the film, you'll realize that aap ne trailer mein kuch bhi nahin dekha. Every five minutes, new layers open up. We were struggling to cut a trailer, as we wondered kya rakhein aur kya nahin rakhein. This is just 20% of the film right now. UAE release? Often films based on the India-Pakistan relationship dont get a release in UAE-GCC countries. In recent times, movies like Gadar 2 (2023), Fighter (2024), Sky Force (2025), The Diplomat (2025), Article 370 (2024), Tiger 3 (2023), The Kashmir Files (2022), Dhurandhar (2025), Dhurandhar The Revenge (2026), etc. didnt get a release in all or several countries in the Middle East. Earlier this month, Bollywood Hungama was the first one to report that Udta Teer will be the last film of the deceased actor, Mukul Dev. The actor died in May 2025 at the age of 54. Today, the trailer of Udta Teer was launched in the presence of Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, producers Guneet Monga Kapoor, Achin Jain and Apoorva Mehta and director Aakash Kaushik, and they spoke highly of Mukul Dev. Interestingly, the trailer prominently shows the talented actor, and it was quite appreciated. Ayushmann Khurrana said, Mukul Dev was one of the brightest, most brilliant talents in our country. There was a film named Omerta (2018). It was his brainchild. We sadly underutilized him. In Udta Teer, you'll see him for the last time. This is like a swan song; it's a tribute to Mukul Dev! Aakash Kaushik revealed, He used to call me and ask, 'Yaar, jab yeh picture aayegi na, toh log kya bolenge mere baare mein?'. Suhail Nayyar is set to take on a different screen avatar in Udta Teer, the upcoming spy comedy directed by Akash A. Kaushik. The actor, who shares screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in the film, has revealed details about the physical preparation he underwent for his role. Nayyar plays a spy in Udta Teer, with the character described as layered and complex. For the part, the actor underwent a physical transformation that included building muscle and sporting a moustache, a look that marks a departure from his previous appearances on screen. The actor trained regularly during the preparation process and followed a protein-heavy diet as he worked towards developing the physicality required for the character. He also spent time watching spy thrillers to familiarise himself with the genre. His preparation included shows such as The Family Man, Special Ops, The Night Manager and Fauda. Speaking about the experience, Suhail Nayyar said, Udta Teer gave me a chance to play a completely different, never-seen-before avatar. The character required a certain physicality, so I trained every day, changed my diet and worked towards gaining muscle for the part. The moustache added another layer to the transformation. I also worked quite a bit on the dialect because I wanted it to feel natural and rooted in the character. Beyond the look and voice, there are a lot of layers and complexities to him, but hes also a lot of fun. Aakash has made a really fresh spy comedy, and Im very grateful to Guneet, Achin and Dharma Productions for trusting me with this role. Earlier we had mentioned how actress Rashami Desai is excited about returning to television fiction with Sayoneee, which premieres tonight, September 23, at 7:30 PM on Star Plus and JioHotstar. The show, produced by Sargun Mehta and Ravi Dubeys Dreamiyata Entertainment, also stars Janhavi Soni and Gautam Singh Vig in key roles. Rashami will be seen as Maya, a powerful and guarded character. Speaking about what drew her to the show and her decision to return to television fiction, the actor said, Maya is not just a character or an imagination. She is a very practical character that I am going to play in Sayoneee. And as an actor, I wouldnt deny that I received many offers, but I turned them down because I didnt feel connected to the stories or the characters that were coming my way. Every artist wants to play a character that is beautifully written. I wasnt looking for a comeback on television; I was looking for a purpose. Sargun and Ravi are doing amazing in television as producers, Uttam Bhelavat is an amazing director. Sometimes we dont know people who are working behind the camera, but they are the ones who will actually help you to reach out to the right audiences and all. Good, I waited for long, and, you know, its good to be honest to your emotions also, kyunki impulsive decisions I have never taken. Janhavi Soni plays Saanvi, a warm and nurturing woman whose kindness does not prevent her from standing up for what she believes in. Speaking about her character and working with Rashami Desai, Janhavi said, Saanvi is warm and nurturing, but her kindness should never be mistaken for weakness. She has the courage to stand up for what she believes is right and keeps her promises even when they come at a personal cost. Working with Rashami maam has made this journey even more special. She is incredibly warm and generous as a co-actor, and through Sayoneee, I have also found a wonderful friend in her.
