GUWAHATI: Leaders of regional parties from Meghalaya, Tripura, Nagaland and Assam came together to form a united political entity, representing the true aspirations of the people of the Northeast. Meghalaya Chief Minister and National Peoples Party (NPP) chief Conrad K Sangma, Tripuras Tipra Motha Party (TMP) founder leader Pradyot Debbarma, former Congress leader and Peoples Party and Assam leader Daniel Langthasa and former BJP spokesperson from Nagaland Mmhonlumo Kikon were seen together. Notably, NPP and TMP are BJP allies. For long-time, we, the younger generation leaders of Northeast, have spoken about the same issues and concerns of our people, but from different platforms and political spaces, we have realised that our strength lies in unity, and that it is time to give our people one collective voice, the quartet said in a joint statement after announcing the initiative at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on Tuesday. They said they had resolved to carry forward their ideals by coming together under a shared vision for the future of the Northeast, taking inspiration from the vision and legacy of great leaders who fought selflessly for the identity and development of the land. Today's announcement marks the first step towards building this common platform. To take this initiative forward, we have decided to constitute a committee that will deliberate on the future course of action, including the modalities and structure of the proposed political entity, the statement read. Our united effort is guided by a simple conviction that the people of the Northeast deserve to be heard, respected, and represented through a strong, unified, and indigenous political voice at the national level. Together, we stand for a stronger, more united Northeast, the statement further stated. Taking to X, Debbarma wrote, If we speak separately, we are insignificant! If we speak together, then the nation cannot ignore our region. Petty differences and narrow interests have sent us backwards. The time for change has come! Lets fight for our next generation together.
BJP government will fall if even one eligible voter is removed in Bengal: CM Mamata
KOLKATA: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday asserted that the fall of the BJP-led government at the Centre would be inevitable if even a single eligible voter was omitted from the electoral rolls. She accused the saffron party and the Election Commission (EC) of allegedly using the Summary Revision of Electoral Rolls (SIR) as a political tool to intimidate voters ahead of the 2026 Assembly polls. Leading a massive anti-SIR rally in Kolkata, CM Mamata charged that the Election Commission was selectively conducting the revision drive in opposition-ruled states while sparing BJP-ruled ones. The EC is conducting SIR in states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, but not in BJP-ruled Assam, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief alleged. Assembly elections are due next year in these four states. The Election Commission must also reply why there is no SIR in BJP-ruled Assam, Tripura and other northeastern states, she demanded, calling it clear discrimination aimed at helping the ruling party at the Centre. The last SIR in West Bengal in 2002 had taken at least two years to be completed, she said, wondering why the EC was in a hurry to finish it this time in just a month. CM Mamata branded the current exercise as hurried and politically motivated. If a single eligible voter is removed from the electoral rolls, we will ensure the fall of this BJP government, CM Mamata declared to thunderous applause from her supporters. Challenging the BJPs repeated claims of illegal voters in West Bengal, CM Mamata asked, How many Rohingyas or Bangladeshis were found in Bihar after the SIR there? She asserted that merely speaking in Bengali does not make someone a Bangladeshi and accused the saffron party of spreading fake news and communal propaganda to malign Bengalis. Taking a swipe at the ruling party, the TMC supremo said, The BJP does not want to win on the basis of votes, but on the strength of notes. If this electoral roll is fake, then how did the BJP win previous elections held on the basis of the same list? CM Mamata alleged that SIR stands for silent, invisible rigging and that the BJP is using it to instil fear among voters. Do we have to prove our citizenship before the BJP after being born and brought up in this land? she asked, evoking strong support from the crowd. CM Mamata, who was accompanied by her nephew and party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee during the protest march, said the TMC would take the fight to Delhi if needed.

Uttar Pradesh: Fake IRS officer caught trying to meet Tripura CM in Lucknow hotel
LUCKNOW: A man posing as an IRS officer was caught in the state capital, Lucknow, while trying to meet visiting Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha at his hotel in the city. CM Saha, who was in Lucknow for a conference at King Georges Medical University (KGMU) and staying at a city hotel, was alerted when security personnel stopped the suspect. The man, identifying himself as Prashant Mohan from Bihar, showed a fake ID card claiming he was an IRS officer. When the Chief Ministers PSO denied him entry and informed the police, the accused attempted to check out of the hotel but pretended to have a heart attack as officers arrived. He was immediately taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences, where doctors confirmed that he was faking the pain. The police then arrested him and recovered fake IRS and IAS ID cards. The incident took place on October 31. According to the police, Prashant Mohan had been staying at the same hotel since October 30. On October 31, when Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha arrived to attend a conference at KGMU, both happened to be on the same floor of the hotel. Claiming to be an Additional Commissioner posted in the Finance Ministry, Mohan approached the CMs room. When security personnel stopped him, he presented his fake ID card. The CMs security officers, suspecting foul play, denied him entry and immediately informed the Gomti Nagar police, who reached the hotel shortly thereafter. The hotel management informed the police that the suspect was attempting to check out. When officers took him into custody, he suddenly began pretending to have a heart attack. He was taken to Lohia Hospital, where doctors declared him completely fit. Subsequently, he was taken to the Vibhuti Khand police station, where the police recovered fake IRS and IAS ID cards, visiting cards, an iPhone, Aadhaar card, PAN card, a trolley bag, and 1,600 in cash from his possession. According to police sources, the accused had arrived in a car fitted with a red-blue beacon light and had a driver accompanying him. When he was caught, the driver fled with the vehicle. Hotel staff stated that Mohan often boasted of being a relative of the Lucknow Police Commissioner. Police said the accused used to meet politicians by impersonating an officer, getting his photos clicked with them, and then using those pictures to deceive others. He had reportedly attempted to do the same with Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha. Vibhuti Khand police station inspector Amar Singh said that the accused, Prashant Mohan, has been sent to jail, and an investigation into his criminal history is underway. Lucknow police have also sought assistance from their counterparts in Delhi and Bihar. Preliminary information suggests that Prashant Mohan, a native of Bihar, used to teach UPSC coaching classes while residing in Shakarpur East, Delhi. He had also appeared for the civil services examination multiple times but failed to qualify.
Aadhaar count exceeds Keralas population
KOCHI: Kerala is reportedly facing a perplexing situation where the total number of Aadhaar registrations has exceeded the states actual population. As against the total population of 3,60,63,000 in the state, the number of Aadhaar cards assigned as of September 30, 2025, is 4,09,68,282, which is over 49 lakh more Aadhaar cards, reveals an RTI reply provided by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). While such a variation is seen in several other states, the difference is comparatively higher in Kerala. This anomaly highlights a significant issue with data hygiene in the unique identification system. A primary contributing factor to this disparity is the lack of a systematic mechanism to cancel or deactivate the Aadhaar of deceased individuals promptly, said Kochi-based RTI activist Raju Vazhakala. Despite recent efforts by the UIDAI to integrate with death registration data and introduce a reporting portal, a comprehensive, mandatory, and seamless system is still awaited. The gap leaves the door open for potential misuse and fraud of the identity documents belonging to the deceased, necessitating urgent policy intervention to ensure data accuracy and security, Raju pointed out. In fact, the Aadhaar count exceeds the population when the scenario of the whole country is taken. As against the population of over 1.41 crore people in India, the total number of Aadhaar cards issued was over 1.42 crore. Besides Kerala, the oddity is reflected in states including Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttarakhand and West Bengal. Meanwhile, the UIDAI is taking proactive steps to maintain the accuracy of the Aadhaar database and prevent identity fraud by deactivating the Aadhaar numbers of deceased residents. A crucial measure involves collaboration with the Registrar General of India (RGI), which has provided approximately 1.55 crore death records from 24 states/UTs via the Civil Registration System (CRS). Following validation, over 1.17 crore Aadhaar numbers have been successfully deactivated. A similar exercise is underway for non-CRS states/UTs, it said in a statement. Additionally, UIDAI launched the new Reporting of Death of a Family Member service on the myAadhaar portal on June 9, 2025. It allows family members to report a death using the deceaseds Aadhaar and Death Registration Number for subsequent validation and deactivation. Residents are strongly encouraged to report the death of family members on the myAadhaar Portal after obtaining the official death certificate, it added. UIDAI is also exploring sourcing death records from banks and collaborating with state governments to verify the status of centenarians. India Total population: 141,22,25,700 Aadhaar cards issued: 142,95,78,647 Difference: 1,73,52,947

NEW DELHI: Exposing increasingly sophisticated smuggling operations that span continents, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has intercepted and seized around 321 kilograms of smuggled gold worth Rs 406.35 crore between January and October this year. The seizures and interception data -- 65 cases -- show a disturbing picture of an organised syndicate gang that operates with military precision. The wellfunded internationally coordinated syndicates have adapted rapidly to the countrys enforcement agencies' measures. In fact, the Director General of DRI, Abhai Kumar Srivastav, has written to the Director of the Central Bureau of Investigation, Praveen Sood in April this year to unravel the entire gold smuggling nexus as it involves a coordinated international crime syndicate and a few government officials. Intelligence agencies have stated that for every kilogramme intercepted, three to five kilogrammes successfully enter India. On analysis of seizure and interception data of DRI done by TNIE, there were distinct patterns in both air and land-based smuggling operations this year. It has been found that there are four major air routes and three major land routes. The air smuggling network operates primarily through four major routes: the Dubai-Mumbai corridor; the Bangkok-Ahmedabad route; the Bangkok-Kolkata channel; and the broader Middle East triangle that encompasses Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Riyadh, with gold entering through multiple airports, including Ahmedabad, Calicut, and Jaipur. There are three major land-based smuggling routes: the Myanmar-northeast corridor, the Nepal-Bihar corridor, and the Bangladesh and the five bordering Indian states corridor. The highest volume of seizures, with over 18 incidents, makes the Dubai-Mumbai corridor the single largest channel used by the organised crime syndicate. This route has seen 40 percent of seizures. The second critical route for smuggling is from Bangkok. The two major feeding corridors are the Bangkok-Kolkata and Bangkok-Ahmedabad routes. The crime syndicate using the Middle East triangle uses a diversified entry point into Indian, and it is designed to avoid scrutiny at any single point and to get away from law enforcement agencies. The land route represents a complex web spread by crime syndicate. Once the gold enters from Myanmar through the porous borders of Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura, it is smuggled through railway stations. Sealdah and Dum Dum in Kolkata serve as primary hubs. In addition to West Bengal, the smuggled gold is distributed through trains to Chhapra, Patna, Banaras and Delhi. The Nepal border corridor shows a similar pattern. Once the gold enters India, smugglers use express trains to reach Delhi, and in this case, the New Delhi Railway Station becomes the primary hub. From there, it is distributed to northern India. Through the Bangladesh border corridor, gold reached West Bengal through road transport and was then distributed through train. The crime syndicate exploits both aviation networks and ground transportation infrastructure with military precision to avoid law enforcement agencies in India. The data also reveals two disturbing trends: one, smuggling through rectal and internal body concealment, and second, people in financial distress from across the globe are used as couriers. The data reveals that 25 percent of passenger-based smuggling attempts were made through rectal and internal body concealment. In these cases, capsules containing gold paste or dust or even small bars are being ingested or inserted. Further, arrest data shows that people financially distressed from Thailand, Iran, Turkey, Brazil, Chad, and even US nationals were used. Language becomes a major crisis for them, and they get caught. These trends reveal that the smuggling of gold is rampant in India, and there is a need for enhancing law enforcement agencies with the latest technologies and international cooperation to deal with this organized crime syndicate.

Uttarakhand secures Rs 100 crore incentive in Mining Readiness Index, BJP targets Congress
DEHRADUN: Uttarakhand has secured second place in its category in the latest State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI), making the Himalayan state eligible for a Rs 100 crore central government incentive. Launched by the Union Ministry of Mines, the SMRI aims to promote reforms in the mining sector at the state level. This central recognition has quickly become a political tool for the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Uttarakhand, where mining is a contentious issue often sparking sharp political debates. The incentive is part of the Special Assistance Scheme for Capital Investment (SASCI) 2025-26 by the Finance Ministrys Department of Expenditure. The scheme has a total allocation of Rs 5,000 crore, with Rs 900 crore reserved for the top three performers across Categories A, B, and C of the SMRI rankings, ensuring each qualifying state receives Rs 100 crore. States were classified into three categories based on their mineral wealth: Category A for mineral-rich states, Category B for those with moderate resources, and Category C for states with limited mineral resources. Uttarakhand placed second in Category C, securing the central reward. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami praised the achievement and said that, Mining is a significant contributor to the states revenue, and the state government is emphasising eco-friendly and legal mining practices. We have consistently cracked down on illegal mining and taken strict action against tax evasion. Dhami highlighted an unprecedented increase of Rs 800 crore in mining revenue, stating it demonstrates the efficacy, transparency, and strength of the states new mining policy. He noted that officials from Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir are studying Uttarakhands model. The BJP immediately leveraged the news politically, targeting the main opposition party, Congress. State Media Head Manveer Singh Chauhan described the surge in mining revenue as a pleasant sign and a sharp slap in the face of the Congress. Chauhan told the TNIE , The revenue figure from mining is historic. The Congress, which has been spreading political disinformation on this issue, must now clarify its stance. In 2019-20, the revenue was less than Rs 400 crore. It was a clear loss-making situation benefiting the mafia, whereas now the revenue is accumulating in the state's treasury. He credited the success, where Uttarakhand ranked ahead of Punjab and Tripura in Category C, to transparent policies. The Central Ministry of Mines has recognised Uttarakhands administrative efficiency in the SMRI 2025. Chauhan added that Uttarakhands mining reforms, transparency, and efficiency generated over Rs 1,000 crore in revenue in FY 2024-25.

The incident, which took place on Wednesday, has escalated the war of words between the two neighbors, whose relationship has been strained since the interim government led by Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus assumed power in August 2024. They attacked and injured local villagers with iron dahs and knives, and killed one villager, even as other villagers arrived and resisted the attackers, the External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said. Authorities rushed to the spot, where two smugglers were found dead, and a third succumbed to his injuries in the hospital the following day. The mortal remains of all three have been handed over to the Bangladesh side. Police have also registered a case. This incident underscores the need for Bangladesh to undertake necessary measures to uphold the sanctity of the International Boundary and support the construction of fencing where needed to prevent cross-border crimes and smuggling, the spokesperson said. The Government of Bangladesh had lodged a strong protest, with its Ministry of Foreign Affairs statement condemning the brutal beating and killing of three Bangladeshi citizens by a mob.

All India Trinamool Congress slams BJP over vandalism of party office in Tripura
GUWAHATI: The All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) on Wednesday slammed the BJP for its alleged involvement in the vandalism of its Tripura head office in the state capital Agartala on Tuesday evening. The AITC said under the BJPs rule, Tripura had been transformed into a theatre of terror, a place where jungle raj is the new normal and gratuitous political violence has become a tool of governance rather than an aberration. The AITC rushed a six-member delegation to BJP-ruled Tripura to take stock of the situation. The delegation met Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag to condemn the ongoing political violence and targeted intimidation in the state. The AITC alleged that Tripura Police remained silent spectators, both during the attack on the party office and when its delegation was restricted from visiting the same office on Wednesday. Our delegation condemned this misuse of state machinery to suppress democratic voices and urged the DGP to take immediate action, the AITC said. It further stated that when those in power themselves lead mobs and orchestrate violence, it is not just an attack on a political opponent, it is a direct assault on democracy. The mastermind of the Agartala vandalism is none other than Big-Flop Deb. After being unceremoniously removed from the Chief Ministers chair in 2022 and dismissed within his own party as incompetent, he has now been parachuted into Bengal as BJPs election in-charge for 2026, the AITC said, referring to Biplab Kumar Deb. Desperate to prove his worth, the AITC alleged, Deb is engineering provocation and orchestrating violence to pad up his scorecard. In Kolkata, AITC supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said she would go to Tripura, if required. The BJP had on Tuesday taken out a rally to condemn the assault on the partys West Bengal MP Khagen Murmu, allegedly carried out by AITC workers in North Bengal recently. Only two HCs have full strength of judges amid pendency load
NEW DELHI: Indias High Courts are facing a serious manpower crisis, with 330 judges posts lying vacant across 25 states. The Allahabad High Court is the worst affected, with 76 vacancies out of its sanctioned strength of 160the highest among all High Courts. Only two high courts, Sikkim and Meghalaya, are currently functioning with a full bench, according to data accessed by this newspaper from the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) and the Department of Justice. The data is as of September 1 this year. Despite the Supreme Court operating at full strength with 34 judges, the same cannot be said of the high courts, where the shortfall is slowing down the delivery of justice and adding to already massive case backlogs. The sanctioned strength of judges across all high courts is 1,122. But only 792 judges are currently serving. The 330 vacant posts include 161 permanent and 169 additional judges, who are usually appointed for a term not exceeding two years. Legal experts and former judges warn that unless these vacancies are filled promptly, the justice delivery system will continue to suffer badly resulting case pendency going up. The pendency of appointments directly affects case disposal. Litigants suffer the most, said Justice Anjana Prakash, former judge of the Patna High Court. Unless the judiciary and the Central government at address this as a very urgent issue, delays will persist. That is not something very desirable. Justice S R Singh, a former judge of the Allahabad High Court, expressed similar concern. Existing judges are overburdened, which affects both quality and efficiency. Appointments should be made strategically, based on pending caseloads in each high court, he told this newspaper. According to the NJDG, over 67 lakh cases are pending in high courts across the country. The Supreme Court itself has more than 60,000 pending cases despite having no vacancies to fill. Several major high courts continue to grapple with significant judicial vacancies, impacting the pace of justice delivery. The Bombay High Court leads with 26 vacancies out of 94 sanctioned judges. The Punjab and Haryana High Court follows closely with 25 out of 85 positions vacant. Calcutta has 24 out of 72, while Madras faces 19 vacancies out of 75. Patna has 18 out of 53, Delhi 16 out of 60, and Rajasthan 7 out of 50. The persistent shortage of judges is raising concerns over mounting case backlogs and delays in adjudication across these key judicial institutions. Judicial appointments remain a pressing issue for Indias legal system. Smaller high courts also reflect the strain: Uttarakhand has two vacancies out of 11 judges, and Tripura has one vacancy out of five. The appointment process, governed by the Collegium system and requiring government nod, has long been pointed out as reasons for delays. Recommendations are often returned, kept pending, or ignored causing bottlenecks that stretch for months before appointments are made. As the backlog continues to mount, the judiciary is under growing pressure to act swiftly. Experts say that urgent reforms and smoother coordination between the judiciary and the executive are essential to restore the efficiency of the justice system and public faith in it.
Three children go missing every day in Uttarakhand, raising concerns over child safety
DEHRADUN: A deeply alarming trend of missing children continues to plague the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, casting a dark shadow over its image as a peaceful haven. Despite intensified police vigilance, awareness campaigns, and frequent checkpoints, official data reveals a staggering and deeply concerning rate of disappearances. According to the latest report from the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) for the fiscal year 2023-24, an average of three children went missing in Uttarakhand every single day. The report highlights that a total of 1,209 children under the age of 18 were reported missing during this period. The most heartbreaking statistic, however, is the low recovery rate, only 276 of these children have been reunited with their families, leaving a staggering 933 children still unaccounted for. The report further breaks down the missing minors, 408 boys and 802 girls were reported missing, of whom 128 boys and 148 girls were subsequently found. Comparative glance: Himalayan states (2023-24 Data) State Missing Recovered Himachal Pradesh 504 81 Uttarakhand 1209 276 Sikkim 22 13 Arunachal Pradesh 40 21 Nagaland 47 0 Manipur 89 24 Mizoram 1 0 Tripura 268 37 Social activists have voiced strong concerns over the persistent crisis. Anoop Nautiyal, founder president of the Social Development for Communities Foundation, told this newspaper, This situation is deeply worrisome, especially when the state police run 'Operation Smile' every year specifically to trace missing children. The opposition has sharply criticised the ruling governments handling of law and order in light of these figures. Mohan Kala, spokesperson for the Congress party in the state, stated, The claims of the BJP government, which boasts of a safe and tranquil Uttarakhand, have been completely exposed by this data on law and order. Furthermore, the image of Uttarakhand, famous nationwide for tourism and religious pilgrimage, has been severely tarnished. Kala added, There is much fanfare and photo opportunities when claims are made about finding missing children and reuniting them with their families, but the NCRB report released just two days ago has laid bare the reality of police performance. The NCRB report, which compiles annual crime statistics across the country, also tracks general missing persons cases. In Uttarakhand, a total of 6,532 individuals were reported missing in 2023-24, comprising 3,277 men and 3,255 women. Out of these, the police managed to trace 2,701 missing persons, including 1,688 men and 1,013 women.

Across India, only two high courts fully staffed; Allahabad tops with 76 vacancies
NEW DELHI: High Courts across India are grappling with 330 vacant judge positions out of a total sanctioned strength of 1,122, causing mounting delays and affecting millions of litigants, according to the Department of Justice data as of September 1, 2025. The Allahabad High Court has the highest number of vacancies at 76, including 35 permanent and 41 additional judges. Other major High Courts with significant gaps include Bombay (26), Punjab and Haryana (25), Calcutta (24), Madras (19), Patna (18), Delhi (16), and Rajasthan (7). Uttarakhand has two vacancies, Tripura has one. Out of 25 states, only the High Courts of Sikkim and Meghalaya are functioning at their full sanctioned strength. Data from the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG) shows over 67 lakh pending cases across High Courts and more than 60,000 in the Supreme Court. While the Supreme Court operates at full strength of 34 judges, including the Chief Justice of India, High Courts struggle with excessive workloads. Experts attribute the shortage to delays in the appointment process at both the Collegium and government levels, with repeated recommendations sometimes facing executive resistance or remaining unaddressed for months. Former High Court judges and legal experts say that the high vacancy rates in High Courts are a major obstacle to the justice system, causing delays and contributing to growing case backlogs. Retired Patna High Court Judge and legal expert, Justice Anajana Prakash, talking to the TNIE , said that the pendency of filling up judges' posts in HCs added to the woes of the disposal of cases, and as a result, ultimately, litigants suffer for this. The filling up of judges' posts in HCs should be addressed expeditiously. Until and unless the judiciary and the centre decide and deliberate upon this issue, the case disposal rate won't increase, which will ultimately affect the litigants at the state level, she said. Former Allahabad High Court Judge Justice S.R. Singh told the TNIE that judge vacancies in High Courts are a major concern, causing hardship for litigants. Vacancies of judges lead to an unnecessary workload for existing judges, which can compromise the quality of judgments and cause burnout. So a judicious choice must be there to appoint judges keeping in view the pendency across HCs, he said. The vacancies include 161 permanent posts and 169 additional (temporary) posts, the latter appointed by the President for a maximum of two years to address temporary workload spikes.

RAIPUR: Kondagaon district in Chhattisgarh has recorded the highest production of coconuts in the non-traditional belt of the country. Kondagaon district is among the 11 Demonstrations cum Seed Production (DSP) farms owned and run by the Centre under the ministry of Agriculture. Usually the southern states excel in coconut production and collectively contribute a significant majority of the yields in the country. Spread across 100 acres of land, the farm has over 6000 coconut trees with 18 varieties, among them the tall, dwarf and hybrid ones are most common. Over 3 lakh coconuts are produced annually from Kondagaon DSP farm. Among the 11 DSP farms administered by the Coconut Development Board (CDB) under the ministry of agriculture, the Kopabeda-based in Kondagaon has secured first position in terms of coconut production. The annual income of the Board from this farm is over one crore. Here we also produce around 50 thousand seedlings of coconut every year for sale to farmers and in other adjoining states, I C Katiyar, assistant director (CDB) told TNIE . The quality of cultivation led to phenomenal success, the officer added. Besides the assistant director, there are around 10 staff and the same number of permanent labourers working here. The project started in Kondagaon in 1987 and the headquarters is in Kerala. The other DSP farms are in states of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Tripura, West Bengal. To make the best use of the land, the inter-cropping practices are also undertaken and one will find other trees among the coconut trees like mango, litchi, pine apple, cocoa, chiku, cinnamon among others. On some occasions, the DSP farm also engages actively in seedling distributions and training sessions on coconut cultivation practices on demand.
