India's former international boxer Kabilan Sai Ashok will become the youngest from the country to officiate in the Paris Olympics after he was appointed as Referee Judge for the sporting showpiece beginning on Friday. The 32 year-old is only the fourth Indian since 1904 to officiate at the Olympics and the first to have represented the country as a player and an official at a World Championship event. Bhakat cruised past Deepika Kumari, the four-time Olympian, to come out on top at 11th ranking in the womens individual recurve qualifications, while Bommadevara finished fourth in the mens individual event behind two archers from South Korea and one from Germany. With that debutants also confirmed themselves as a pair for the mixed team event as they finished at the fifth position with a combined 1347 points. Earlier in the day, the 26-year-old Bhakat was the top-ranked Indian woman with 666 points, followed by Bhajan Kaur (22nd with 559 points) and Deepika (23rd with 658 points). In the team event, India grabbed the fourth spot by scoring 1983 points. South Korea topped the standings with 2046 points. China finished runners-up while Mexico grabbed the third spot. India will face the winner of the contest between France and Netherlands in the quarterfinals. The top four in the team standings directly advance to the quarterfinals, while those ending between 5th to 12th play the Round of 16 fixtures. In the individual sections first round, Bhakat will face Polands Wioleta Myszor, while Kaur and Kumari will face opponents from Indonesia and Estonia respectively. Hyderabad: Former chief minister and BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao entered the Legislative Assembly for the first time as Leader of Opposition (LoP) here on Thursday. Incidentally, Rao was sitting in the Opposition benches after a gap of 20 years. He last sat there as a BRS (then TRS) legislator from 2001 to 2004. Subsequently, as a two-time MP, he was a Lok Sabha member from 2004 to 2014. He returned to the Assembly in 2014 as Chief Minister. Rao arrived in the House exactly at 12 noon on Thursday when Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka was delivering his Budget speech and sat for nearly two hours. He left the House when Bhatti was reading the last page of his 70-page speech. Later, along with his party MLAs, Rao proceeded to the media point, where he lashed out at the Budget and left the Assembly premises without meeting anyone. After the BRS lost power in December, the Assembly met twice but Rao skipped both sessions. The first session held on December 10, 2023, was to administer oath to newly-elected MLAs. Rao missed it as he had to undergo surgery after he was injured in a fall in his farmhouse at Erravalli on December 7. Rao took oath as MLA on February 1 in the Speaker's chambers separately. Later, the Assembly met for a week from February 8 for a presentation of the vote-on-account Budget. Rao did not attend the session. Although the ongoing session started on July 23, Rao attended on the third day. There is no clarity on whether Rao will attend the remaining days of the Budget session. BRS sources said that his chances of attending this session were quite remote.

Once you have learned the basic controls, it's time to explore your new surroundings. This version of Montreal is effectively your canvas. It's colorless at first, almost as if it's covered in snow. You can fill this world with watercolor, a little at a time. Developer Impossible pulls off a smart trick here as each object you color becomes a stamp that you can use in your paintings your artist character is literally taking inspiration from the world around them. I spent several hours ignoring the main missions and exploring the various levels, enjoying myself as I restored color to a market, alleyway, front yard and park. Just like moving into a new city or neighborhood, the more I explored (and colored in) the world around me, the easier it became to navigate. And as with much of life in this city, you do things at your own pace. While the narrative is fairly paint-by-numbers, the characters of t are surprisingly rich for such a short game (it would only take a few hours to beat by focusing on the main story). Montreal is a melting pot and the game does a deft job of reflecting that in its NPCs. The characters you encounter may be gruff, friendly or a mix of both, and you'll run into more than a few arguments. Impossible Talking to the people you encounter is a smart idea, since they'll often commission you to paint something for them with specific elements included. So if you've yet to find all the letters and symbols for an I heart MTL T-shirt, you'll need to hunt down and paint them first so you can use them as stamps. You have a lot of scope in how to create these commissioned pieces, as well as custom ones to hang in your apartment or sell at a cafe. You can use the money you earn to furnish your residence something I didn't really bother with in my playthrough. My favorite aspect of t is just the brilliant job Impossible has done of distilling recognizable aspects of life in Montreal into an abstract world. You'll run into kids playing hockey in an alleyway. You'll find someone making Canada Day decorations while complaining about a neighbor who's doing the same thing for Quebec's national holiday. The cafe culture, second-hand furniture stores and wonderful farmer's markets are all present and correct. Even the city's anti-capitalist movement gets its own subplot. Impossible has nailed much of what makes the city so special. Impossible Unfortunately, there are no festivals, even though the real Montreal has a ton running simultaneously at this time of year. Old Montreal a historic, heavily European-influenced neighborhood by the river that's like catnip for tourists is overlooked as well. But it would be tough for the developers to factor in everything that makes the city so great. As someone who lives in Montreal, t is a gorgeous reminder of what's right outside my doorstep. I should maybe go drink more of that in, even just to watch the world pass by from a terrasse as I paint the final few corners of this sumptuous fictional version of the same thing on my Steam Deck. t is out now on PC. G20 Tamasha Failed to Change US Outlook on J&K: Omar Abdullah
Srinagar: Former chief minister and opposition National Conference (NC) leader Omar Abdullah said on Thursday that the G-20 tourism working group meeting and related events held in Srinagar in May last year have failed to change the outside worlds outlook on Jammu and Kashmir. For all the talk of normalcy, peace, tourism & the G-20 tamasha in Srinagar, J&K continues to be the target of US State Department travel advisories. The Modi government has been able to change nothing, he wrote on X. Mr. Abdullah was reacting to the US Department of States urging the American nationals to avoid altogether travelling to certain parts of India including J&K in its updated travel advisory. In asking US citizens to not visit Jammu and Kashmir, the advisory points to terrorist attacks' and violent civil unrest, as well as sporadic violence between the Indian and Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC) So much for naya J&K, the former chief minister said. The Centre as well as the J&K administration headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has been claiming that the G-20 events held in Srinagar changed the outside worlds outlook on J&K and there has been a significant increase in the number of foreign tourists visiting the scenic region since. However, the updated US travel advisory, released on July 23, asks American nationals to avoid altogether J&K, the India-Pakistan border, portions of central and East India, and Manipur. Regarding J&K, the advisory points to terrorist attacks' and violent civil unrest, as well as sporadic violence between the Indian and Pakistani forces along the LoC. However, it says that visiting the Union Territory of Ladakh is safe. It says, Do not travel to: The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir (except the eastern Ladakh region and its capital, Leh) due to terrorism and civil unrest; within 10 km of the India-Pakistan border due to the potential for armed conflict; portions of Central and East India due to terrorism and Manipur due to violence and crime. Overall, India has been placed at Level 2 in the updated US travel advisory. The J&K authorities and also tourism stakeholders have been lobbying with foreign countries including the US and Britain to get the travel advisories issued during the heyday of insurgency in the erstwhile state and updated from time to time to caution their respective nationals against visiting Kashmir lifted. Germany withdrew such adverse travel advisory in 2011 in view of the situation calming down considerably and foreigners generally not being direct targets of clashes. Since Germany has been officially recommending its citizens to travel to Kashmir and its government had several years ago offered to work towards changing the negative perception created about the safety of tourists while visiting the Valley.
