VWs plea against emissions related FIR dismissed by SC

The Supreme Court of India has quashed a plea by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India against an FIR filed by a customer in December 2015 over the alleged use of a cheat device in its diesel car. A complaint was made in the National Green Tribunal and an FIR was registered in Uttar Pradesh. In March, 2019 a penalty was imposed on the automaker. BIS certification mandatory for helmets from June 2021

Only helmets certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) will be allowed to be sold in India from June 1, 2021. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has issued a notification stating that 2-wheeler helmets have been included under compulsory BIS certification. Publication of the Quality Control Order will also be mandatory. The sale of imported helmets will be allowed under the revised rules, as long as those helmets meet BIS norms. Goa: 50% road tax waiver for Commercial Vehicles
