Gyanvapi: Hearing in 7 cases rescheduled for Feb 4 & 13

A district government counsel in Uttar Pradesh state said that due to the death of a senior lawyer, no legal work was done in the courts. The hearings for four women plaintiffs in a suit seeking transfer of seven cases related to a mosque dispute to the court of district judge were scheduled for Tuesday, but were postponed due to the death. The next hearing for the application of these four women is scheduled for February 4. The plaintiffs in two other suits, one filed by a lord and one filed by a goddess, are also requesting transfer of their cases to the court of district judge.

Worship of Shivling cant be delayed, petitioner tells court

The lawyers representing Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati on Monday raised serious objections to the delay being caused by the defendants in filing their reply in Suit No 925/2022 in which the seer has sought worshipping of the purported 'Shivling', found during the court-mandated survey on the Gyanvapi mosque premises.

Kashi courts reschedule hearing in three cases related to Gyanvapi

A district judge in India has rescheduled the dates for three gyanvapi-related cases. One of the cases is a suit filed by five women seeking worship of the goddess Shringar Gauri and other deities in the mosque compound after March 20. The other two cases are civil suits filed by different people seeking different things, such as the right to worship the purported Shivling found in the mosque complex and other reliefs. The court has set February 17 as the next date of hearing in one of the cases and February 13 in the other two cases.

Gyanvapi Case: Varanasi Court To Hear Plea For Prayers At 'Shivling'

A petition seeking that prayers be allowed to the Shivaling found inside Varanasi's Gyanvapi mosque complex, will be heard by a local court. The petition has also sought that Muslims be banned from the Gyanvapi mosque complex and it be handed over to Hindus.

Why Varanasi District Judge Said No Carbon Dating Of Shivling

The demand by a group of women for carbon dating to determine the age of a purported 'Shivling' found in Varanasis Gyanvapi mosque complex was rejected today by the citys senior most judge. The 'Shivling' or relic of Lord Shiva was found earlier this year during a video survey carried out in the Gyanvapi mosque complex on the orders of a lower court in response to a petition by five Hindu women requesting year-long access to pray at a shrine inside the mosque complex. That case is still being heard.
