Sensex, Nifty end lower in Diwali special trading session as banking stocks drag
The Sensex fell 28.62 points to close at 80,999.40, while the Nifty declined 43.95 points to settle at 24,986.40, slipping below the 25,000 mark. However, broader markets remained positive, with the Nifty MidCap 100 gaining 0.13% and the SmallCap index rising 0.94%.
