Telangana Congress working president T Jayaprakash Jagga Reddy on Tuesday urged chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao to immediately release the pending Rs 5,000 crore fee reimbursement arrears and provide relief to lakhs of poor students and their parents.

8-year-old boy falls from school bus, crushed to death in Telangana

In a tragic incident, an eight-year-old boy who was travelling in his school bus died after he accidentally fell from the bus in Pochampally, a textile village 45 km from Hyderabad, on Monday evening. The bus door was not latched when Abhilash fell out of the vehicle.

Paper leak: TSPSC cancels Group 1 prelims held in October

The Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) on Friday cancelled Group 1 prelims examination held in October, 2022, after the special investigation team (SIT) collated evidence on question paper leak. Over 2.8 lakh aspirants had appeared for the exam on October 16, of which roughly 25,000 qualified for the mains. The re-exam for the Group 1 prelims will now be held on June 11.

Inter student hangs herself in hostel room soon after first exam in Telangana

Hours after appearing for her first examination on Wednesday, a first year Intermediate student from Hanamkonda hanged herself inside her college hostel, allegedly due to poor performance in the test. While the college staff rushed her to MGM Hospital, Warangal, the teenager could not be saved. She died while undergoing treatment in the wee hours of the day.

Centre tells Telangana to increase Covid checks as cases rise in state

The Centre on Thursday shot off a letter to Telangana asking it to step up Covid-19 surveillance as it is among states reporting a high number of positive cases. It also advised Telangana to increase testing, complete administering precaution doses and ensure Covid-19 appropriate behaviour is followed .
