Share Market Highlights: Sensex reclaims 80,000 mark after 4 months on IT, auto rally

Sensex, Nifty updates on 23 April 2025: Indian equities extended gains for the seventh straight session on Wednesday, with the BSE Sensex jumping 520.90 points (0.65%) to close at 80,116.49its highest level since December 18. The broader Nifty 50 surged 161.70 points (0.67%) to settle at 24,328.95. Robust buying in IT and auto stocks, particularly post-earnings from HCL Tech, fueled the rally. HCL rose 7.72% after reporting an 8.1% YoY rise in Q4 profit driven by large deals worth 25,500 crore.
