Youth beaten to death by villagers for entering house wearing saree

Lucknow: A shocking case of crime has come to light from Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. A youth was beaten to death by villagers in a village in the district. It is being told that the young man entered the house with the intention of stealing wearing a saree. On receiving the call, the villagers surrounded the young man. When the villagers tried to catch him, he started running away, but he could not escape because of the saree. After this, the villagers started beating the young man. The villagers beat him so much that he died on the spot. After getting the information, the police reached the spot and started investigating the matter. The incident took place in Chahalar village under the Isanagar police station area of Lakhimpur Kheri. According to the villagers, the youth had entered a house with the intention of stealing wearing a saree late at night. Police are investigating the case. Those who were involved in beating the young man are being identified. It is being told that after being caught, the young man kept begging for mercy with folded hands. Soil-transmitted helminths prevalence in UP school kids

LUCKNOW: A panel of experts from Chandigarh-based National Institute of Epidemiology of ICMR is conducting a survey of soil-transmitted helminths prevalence among children studying in the government primary and upper primary schools in Uttar Pradesh. As per World Health Organization, helminth infections caused by soil-transmitted helminths hinder young children's nutritional and physical development. The basic Shiksha Adhikari of more than 30 districts in the state have received a letter from Shubha Singh, director of basic education, urging them to support the concerned team as needed. The concerned block education officers of the district have also been asked to be intimated about the same. As part of the study, stool samples from school-age children are being collected, and temporary microscopic centres have been set up at the nearest medical facility (community/primary health centre) to examine the samples under a microscope. Beginning on November 21, the survey will run through December 18. The study is being carried out at schools in the following cities: Ghazipur, Gorakhpur, Hapur, Hardoi, Jalaun, Jaunpur, Amroha, Kannauj, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kushinagar, Lucknow, Mahoba, Mainpuri, Mathura, Mau, Meerut, Mirzapur, Pilibhit, Pratapgarh, Rae Bareli, Rampur, Saharanpur, Sant Kabir Nagar. Two Dalit sisters murdered after rape, Congress aid cheque also 'bounced'

Lucknow: The bodies of two minor Dalit sisters were found hanging from a tree in a village under Nighasan in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, on September 14, 2022. In the police investigation, it was revealed that both of them were raped and murdered. After this incident, one of the two cheques given by Congress leaders to help the victim's family bounced. The cheques were handed over by a Congress delegation that went to meet the victim's family three days after the incident. The father of the deceased girl has informed that he had deposited these cheques in his bank account. Now the bank has told them that the cheque has bounced. The reason for this is said to be a matching signature. There have been a variety of reactions from those who know the victim's family in Lakhimpur about the cheque bouncing. Congress district president Prahlad Patel said the cheque bounce was due to technical reasons. He has said that the cheque amount will be received soon by the victim's family through online transactions. In this case, the UP Police arrested six accused. The accused have been identified as Junaid, Sohail, Arif, Hafiz, Karimuddin, and Chhote. Within 14 days of the incident, the police had also filed its chargesheet. Lakhimpur Kheri: Two Dalit minor sisters raped, strangulated to death; six held

Bodies of two minor Dalit sisters aged 17 and 15 were found hanging from a tree in Nighasan area of Lakhimpur Kheri district of UP on Sept 14 evening. A local resident spotted the bodies of the sisters in a sugarcane field, which is around half-a-km from their house. As the news spread, angry locals staged a protest and also blocked a road.
