Govt amends Citizenship Rules, 2009

New rules require applicants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh seeking Indian citizenship to declare their passport status. Those with active passports must submit details and surrender them within 15 days of approval. This amendment applies to non-Muslim migrants from these countries who arrived before December 31, 2014. The Home Ministry issued this notification on Monday.
