Ninety-three-year-old Aruna Chitale, who was imprisoned during the Emergency, showed her unwavering commitment to democracy by casting her vote in the Maharashtra assembly elections in Nagpur. Despite her age, Chitale, accompanied by her daughter-in-law, went to a polling booth in the Town Hall area to exercise her right to vote.
Former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh was attacked while returning from a campaign rally for his son in Katol.
