Committee to modernise countrys first Cinematography and Sound Recording and Engineering Polytechnic College

The course in Cinematography and Sound Recording & Engineering was originally introduced in 1943 at Sri Jayachamarajendra Government Polytechnic as a result of the foresight of M.Visvesvaraya. In 1996, this course was renamed and relocated to Hesaraghatta, where it was spread across 25 acres, as the Government Film and Television Institute with assistance from the World Bank.
