A new study reveals that human-written essays contribute significantly more diverse ideas than those generated by AI like ChatGPT. Researchers found that while individual AI essays can appear creative, a collection of AI-generated pieces tends to converge on similar themes, leading to a homogenising effect and a reduced diversity growth rate compared to human contributions.
