JNU academic spend halves in 7 years amid fall in research and SC-ST intake: JNUTA
The Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers' Association (JNUTA) has raised serious concerns over what it describes as a governance crisis at JNU. In its report, the body highlights declining SC and ST student enrolments, irregular faculty recruitment, reduced research admissions, and halved academic expenditure. The report criticises the growing centralisation of power under the Vice Chancellor, bypassing established appointment norms and compromising the universitys academic ethos and inclusive character.
