Uttar Pradesh's power regulator delays deal with Adani's $2 billion project over cost issues

Uttar Pradeshs power regulator has put off approving a supply deal with Adani Powers new $2-billion coal project, citing unclear cost details. Adani Power had won a contract in May to supply 1,500 MW at 5.38 per unit, but the regulator said the state utility did not assess how much money the plant would save after the Centre relaxed rules on installing sulphur-dioxide control equipment.
