BHEL begins supply of traction converters for Vande Sleeper project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited has begun supplying traction converters for the Vande Bharat Sleeper Train project. This marks BHEL's entry into semi-high-speed propulsion. The equipment is being sent to Kolkata for train assembly. Other propulsion components are also being manufactured. These trains will operate at speeds up to 160 kmph. The first service will connect Guwahati and Howrah.
