The newly elected Mohan Majhi government in Odisha has rebranded two key schemes from the previous administration. Biju Swasthya Kalyana Yojana (BSKY) is now Gopabandhu Jan Arogya Yojana (GJAY) and is integrated with Ayushman Bharat. The Kalia cash incentive programme for farmers will be replaced by CM KISAN. Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan announced the imminent commencement of two significant national highway projects in Odisha: the Coastal Highway and the Capital Region Ring Road. Accelerated under the Bharatmala project, the Coastal Highway will be 413 km long, while the Ring Road project will cover 111 km. These projects aim to boost road infrastructure in the region.
The Centre allocated a record Rs 10,586 crore for Odisha's railway sector, the highest in history. This budget will support 59 station upgrades and major projects, including the Khurda Road-Balangir line. Railway minister Vaishnaw highlighted significant increases in track laying and electrification since 2014.
