The business environment for German carmakers and their suppliers improved noticeably in March, a survey published by the Ifo economic institute showed on Wednesday.

Total sales including domestic and exports, made by Ashok Leyland in March slipped by 4 per cent to 22,866 units, as compared to 23,926 units sold in the same month of last year.

Domestic dispatch of vehicles to dealers saw an increase of 5 per cent to 53,001 units last month, from 50,600 units in the year-ago period, according to the statement.
