A series of road accidents occurred on National Highway 16 near Ongole. Five people died, and eight others were seriously injured. The accidents involved multiple vehicles, including trucks, a poultry vehicle, a harvester, and a car. The first accident happened early Sunday morning. Police suspect negligent driving and poor road conditions contributed to the crashes.

Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram Manyam, and Srikakulam districts are most affected. Sixty-seven other mandals will face heat wave conditions.
