Sameer Anjaan recalls music director throwing his diary from third floor during early struggles: You will never become a songwriter

Lyricist Sameer Anjaan recently revisited a difficult chapter from the early stages of his career during an appearance on Komal Nahtas Game Changers: The Music Series. The lyricist recalled an incident involving a music director, who he chose not to name, and revealed how the encounter became a moment of self-doubt before eventually motivating him to continue pursuing songwriting. Sameer, son of veteran songwriter Anjaan, recalled that the incident took place before he met music director Usha Khanna. He said the unnamed music director was a good acquaintance of his father. After listening to several of Sameers songs, the music director reportedly questioned his decision to pursue songwriting. Sharing details of the interaction, Sameer said, There was an incident before I visited Usha Khanna. I will not disclose the name of the music director, but he was a good acquaintance of my father. He further recalled, I showed him a few of my songs. After listening to 1520 songs attentively, he said, 'You have a good education, you had a job, and you are the son of such a good Shayar; why would you ruin his reputation? I can give you in writing that you will never become a songwriter. Dont waste your time here. If you need money, I will give it to you; go back to Banaras.' In anger, he threw my music diary from the third floor, he shared. The incident left Sameer questioning his abilities as a songwriter, particularly because the criticism had come from someone who knew his father. However, he said he remembered a line from his fathers work, which gave him the motivation to continue. He went on to add, While I was going down to retrieve it, I had so many questions in my mind. This music director was a friend of my father. He had listened to my songs for 45 minutes to an hour, and if his reaction was like this, was there a problem with my skills? Then I remembered a line from my fathers work: 'Jag abhi jeeta nahi hai, tu abhi haara nahi hai. Faisla hone se pehle haar mat swikaar karna.' I found new motivation in those words. I picked up my diary and went straight to Santa Cruz, to Usha Khannas house in Khar Road. Sameer Anjaan is among the prolific lyricists in Indian cinema and holds a Guinness World Record for writing the highest number of film songs. His appearance on Game Changers: The Music Series offered a glimpse into the struggles that preceded his established career. This version keeps the focus on the incident and Sameers recollection, while avoiding unverified conclusions about the unnamed music director or adding details beyond the supplied material. French President Emmanuel Macron has warned of an explosion in energy prices as disruption around the Strait of Hormuz combines with attacks on Saudi Arabias crucial Red Sea oil infrastructure.Macron said reduced flows through Hormuz and damage to Saudi routes toward Yanbu have squeezed alternative supplies, driving up crude oil, diesel, jet fuel and gas prices globally. According to the International Energy Agency, Hormuz flows averaged around 7.6 million barrels per day in August - roughly 13.1 million barrels below pre-war levels.

Trumps Russian Oil Hypocrisy Unravels: US Buys Russian Uranium, India CAN'T BUY Oil From Moscow?

Washington is threatening India and China with tariffs of up to 100% for buying Russian crude, calling it unacceptable funding for Russia's war machine. But buried in the same US sanctions bill is a carve-out for Russian uranium used in American nuclear reactors an exemption running through January 2028, covering roughly 12% of US nuclear fuel needs. India's Ministry of External Affairs has called this out directly, pointing to America's continued imports of Russian uranium and palladium even while pressuring Delhi over oil. This video breaks down the sanctions bill, the nuclear exemption hiding in its fine print, and why India argues energy security applies to both countries equally not just the one issuing ultimatums. Is this really about Ukraine, or about who gets to make exceptions and who doesn't?

China, Israel And $24-Bn F-35 Jet Deal: Why Saudi's Latest Buy Could Trigger New Middle East Crisis

The United States has approved a possible $24.3 billion sale of up to 48 F-35A stealth fighters to Saudi Arabia. The package includes 49 engines, training, communications systems, electronic warfare equipment, spare parts and logistics support. But the deal is not final. Congress now gets a review period, and production could take years. The controversy is bigger than the aircraft. Israel is legally entitled to retain its qualitative military edge, while Saudi Arabias growing defence and technology relationship with China worries American intelligence officials. Riyadh wants the F-35 to counter threats from Iran-backed Houthis, missiles and drones. Washington wants a powerful Gulf partner tied to American military networks. The deal could deepen US-Saudi ties, but it could also accelerate a regional arms race and expose sensitive technology. This video explains the money, the military logic, the Israel question and the China risk behind Americas most controversial Gulf sale yet, now.

Tejas & Htt-40 Trainers, Dhruv Choppers Take Flight: Hal's Big Push To Build India's Aerospace Power

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited handed over Tejas twin-seater trainers and HTT-40 basic trainer aircraft to the Indian Air Force, along with Dhruv NG helicopters to Pawan Hans, at a Bengaluru ceremony marking a key self-reliance milestone. The HTT-40, with 56% indigenous content and 70 units ordered for Rs 6,800 crore, replaces the Pilatus PC-7 at the basic flying stage, while Tejas trainers support advanced fighter conversion, together strengthening India's homegrown pilot training pipeline. The HTT-40 delivery is running a year late and still relies on an American Honeywell engine. This comes even as the broader Tejas Mk1A fighter programme faces serious delays, with only 10 of a needed engine supply delivered by GE Aerospace against 27 airframes built. Looking ahead, the IAF is also drafting demanding requirements for its next advanced trainer, featuring fly-by-wire controls, NavIC-based navigation and simulator-linked training systems, signalling a broader push to build a genuinely indigenous training ecosystem for India's fighter pilots.#HAL #HindustanAeronauticsLimited #Tejas #TejasTrainer #TejasMk1A #HTT40 #DhruvNG #IndianAirForce
