Shriya Pilgaonkar has two theatrical releases lined up in September with Mirzapur: The Movie and Haiwaan, giving the actor an opportunity to appear in two contrasting roles. While she reprises her popular character Sweety Gupta in Mirzapur: The Movie, the Priyadarshan directorial sees her share screen space with Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan. With the two films presenting different worlds, Shriya has now spoken about the contrast between the projects, particularly her experience of shooting for a song in Haiwaan. The actor revealed that the film features her in a glamorous avatar and marks her first full-scale Bollywood dance number. Shriya shared Whats exciting about Mirzapur and Haiwaan is that the looks and characters are completely different. While Ive filmed songs before and have 2 songs in Mirzapur too, this is my first full-scale, glamorous Bollywood number, so it was a really exciting experience and different from the ones I shot for Mirzapur. Its a perfect Bollywood dance sequence where we have Saif, Akshay, me and Saiyami in the song and we totally had a blast. The energy on set was palpable, it was choreographed by Bosco. As an actor I always wanted to be part of a song like this and I hope audience enjoy as much as I did filming it The song also brings Shriya together with Saif Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Saiyami Kher. According to the actor, the experience was different from the songs she has previously filmed for Mirzapur, where she has played Sweety Gupta across the franchise. Shriyas return as Sweety Gupta in Mirzapur: The Movie marks another chapter for a character that audiences have followed through the streaming series. The film recently arrived in cinemas, while Haiwaan is scheduled to release on September 11. Directed by Priyadarshan, the thriller stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan in the lead, with Boman Irani and Saiyami Kher also in key roles. Beyond these two projects, Shriya has built a diverse body of work across streaming and films. Her credits include Guilty Minds, Taaza Khabar, The Broken News and The Mandala Murders, alongside her work in the Mirzapur franchise. Her upcoming projects also include Baara Number, a horror film directed by Vir Das. With multiple projects across theatrical and streaming platforms, Shriya continues to explore different genres and character types while expanding her work in mainstream cinema. Sanjay Dutt recently found himself in an amusing moment on stage when Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik asked him to speak in Marathi. The actor, known for his candid sense of humour, responded with a joke about his own experience and quickly moved past the request. At a recent event in Mumbai, Sanjay Dutt shared the stage with Pratap Sarnaik. Videos from the event have surfaced on social media, showing the actor and the minister along with other dignitaries. During the event, Sarnaik said, Aajkal main sab logon ko Marathi sikha raha hoon (These days, I am teaching everyone Marathi). The minister was referring to a recent requirement concerning autorickshaw drivers in Mumbai, under which they are expected to have a functional understanding of Marathi phrases. Sarnaik then suggested that Sanjay Dutt should also speak in Marathi, saying, So I thought after his entry, let us all get Sanjay Dutt to talk in Marathi. He speaks in Hindi, but all of us understand Marathi. Responding to the request, Sanjay Dutt took the microphone and said, Pratap bhai, main 6 saal jail me raha, Yervada mein. Tab bhi Marathi nahin seekh paaya. Main thoda seekha tha. Marathi pride but only if youre a taxi driver, auto-wallah or street vendor with no bodyguards and no film-industry connections. Sanjay Dutt lives in Mumbai for 50+ years, openly admits he still cant speak Marathi even after 6 years in https://t.co/9B23U2yVd0 SHIVVAM PANDEY BHARATIYA (@IShivamP2) September 6, 2026 The actor then put his arm around Sarnaik and spoke about their long-standing association. He added, Main Pratap bhai ka aabhaari hoon ki mujhe yahan bulaye. Hamara rishta bahut purana hai, 25 saal ho gaye hain. The exchange has since drawn mixed reactions online. While some users appreciated Dutts humorous response, others compared his situation with that of autorickshaw drivers who are expected to meet the Marathi-language requirement. One social media user wrote, Only Sanjay Dutt or Salman Khan can defy a minister like this and still smile, while another commented, He ignored it with style. Others pointed to the difference between the actors response and the situation faced by autorickshaw drivers, with one person writing, If only autowallahs could say this and avoid heavy fines too. Some users, meanwhile, criticised Dutt for not being able to speak Marathi despite having spent most of his life in Maharashtra. Sanjay Dutt was most recently seen in the Arabic film 7 Dogs in a cameo appearance, where he shared screen space with Salman Khan. Jagadhatri completes 300 episodes; Sonakshi Batra and Farman Haider reflect on the show's journey
Zee TVs fiction show Jagadhatri has completed 300 episodes, marking a milestone for the series and its cast and crew. The show, led by Sonakshi Batra as Jagadhatri and Farman Haider as Shivaay, has continued its run with a mix of drama, action, romance and emotional conflicts. The current storyline has taken a dramatic turn following the death of Rudra, played by Ayushh Shrivastava. His death has left Jagadhatri facing accusations, while the narrative moves towards secrets and revelations that are expected to further impact the characters. As the show reaches the 300-episode mark, Sonakshi Batra reflected on her experience of playing the titular character and the response to the series. She said, I have always said that Jagadhatri is a very special show for me. It is a very different show and Jagadhatri is a very different character from anything I have done before. In many ways, this character gives me strength even in real life. The way Jagadhatri is strong, smart, fearless and hardworking, she inspires me every single day. This show has given me so much, new lessons, beautiful learnings, the love of the audience and, of course, so many memorable experiences. Completing 300 episodes is a very big milestone for me and the entire team. When we started this journey, I had never imagined that we would receive this much love. Today, seeing so many fan pages and people talking about Jagadhatri, her action sequences, her fights and her journey makes me incredibly happy. I love that the show gives me the opportunity to explore so many shades, action, romance, drama and emotions and play such a layered character. I am truly grateful for everything Jagadhatri has given me. As we celebrate 300 episodes, I only want to say that I will continue to work harder and give my best to the show. I hope we continue to receive the same love and blessings from our audience and keep celebrating many more such milestones together. Happy 300 to us! Farman Haider, meanwhile, spoke about playing Shivaay and the experience of being part of the show. He said, I absolutely love working on Jagadhatri because it is such a unique show. It has drama, action, romance, emotions, fun and so many unexpected turns, and that makes it exciting for both the audience and us as actors. Playing Shivaay has been a wonderful experience because the character has so many layers, and as an actor, getting the opportunity to explore different shades within one character is something very special. Completing 300 episodes is a huge milestone for all of us, and it makes me extremely happy and proud. This journey has been possible because of the hard work of everyone, both on screen and behind the scenes. Our entire team has worked tirelessly to make the show bigger and better with every episode, and seeing the audience shower us with so much love and blessings makes all the effort worth it. I am truly grateful to everyone who has supported Jagadhatri and Shivaay and made them a part of their lives. I am super excited about this milestone, and I am sure this is just the beginning. We will continue to work harder, entertain our audience and hopefully celebrate many more milestones together. As Shivaay, I promise to keep giving my best and keep entertaining our fans with everything we have. Happy 300 to us! With the story continuing to build around Jagadhatri and the aftermath of Rudras death, the show is set to move into its next phase. Jagadhatri airs every day at 10:30 p.m. on Zee TV. Nawazuddin Siddiqui recently reflected on the years of perseverance, theatre training and limited opportunities that shaped his journey as an actor which primarily started with Sarfarosh. In a conversation with Shekhar Suman, the actor spoke about the uncertainty he experienced while trying to find substantial work, while maintaining that he never doubted his abilities as a performer. Siddiqui explained that his determination came from having committed himself entirely to acting. Recalling the mindset that helped him navigate the difficult phase of his career, he said, It was that we had no other option. Nor did we keep one. It was an absolute do or die. It was do or die. It was like we will only do this, even if it takes 50 years, if we are at it. Yes, we will stay at it. There was a stubbornness and belief too. There was a belief that the day we get it, we will show them that day. That was there. The belief was there because you had practiced so much on acting. Yes, yes absolutely. So there was not even a slight doubt about this thing. But with me, there is no doubt about the skill, the doubt is whether I got the opportunity or not. Yes, now of course I got it.. in Sarfarosh, I got a 40-second role. 40 seconds, yes, so for those 40 seconds I had enough confidence that when my 40 seconds come, I will bring everything to a halt, people will only watch me. The actors reference to Sarfarosh highlights how he approached even a brief screen appearance. Rather than viewing the limited duration as a reason to hold back, Siddiqui saw those 40 seconds as an opportunity to put his years of preparation into practice. His comments also draw a distinction between confidence in ones abilities and the availability of opportunities. According to Siddiqui, the uncertainty during his early years was not about whether he could perform, but whether he would get the chance to demonstrate what he had learned through years of theatre and training. Siddiqui eventually went on to take on a range of supporting and lead roles, becoming known for performances across Hindi cinema and streaming projects. His latest reflections offer a look back at the mindset he maintained before wider recognition came his way. For the actor, the journey involved continuing to pursue acting despite the absence of immediate opportunities. His recollection of the 40-second role in Sarfarosh underscores how he approached even smaller parts with the same conviction he had developed through years of preparation. Prime Video has unveiled the teaser of its upcoming MX Original series Waiting Hai, a dramedy that explores the familiar struggle of securing a confirmed railway ticket through the lens of a nationwide scam. Presented by Jio Studios and produced by Jar Pictures, the series is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sameer Vidwans. The series features Divyenndu and Bhuvan Arora in the lead, alongside Kumud Mishra, Vijay Maurya, Harshita Gaur, Srushti Tare and Sunita Rajwar in pivotal roles. Produced by Jyoti Deshpande and Ajay Rai, Waiting Hai combines elements of mystery, humour and crime against the backdrop of Indias railway ticketing system. The teaser introduces Sugam Mishra, played by Divyenndu, a newly posted Railway Police officer who finds himself confronted with an unusual pattern while dealing with railway ticketing. While passengers struggle with long waiting lists, certain agents appear to get tickets confirmed with relative ease. The discrepancy leads Sugam to question whether there is more to the system than meets the eye. As he begins investigating the matter, the story introduces Bhuvan Aroras character, a tech-savvy hacker who appears to have his own connection to the ticketing racket. The teaser sets up a cat-and-mouse dynamic between Sugam and the hacker as the investigation gradually takes him closer to the people allegedly operating the scam. With the railway waiting list serving as the starting point, Waiting Hai looks to turn an everyday travel frustration into a larger mystery. The teaser combines situational humour with elements of investigation, while the contrasting personalities of the police officer and hacker form the central dynamic of the series. Directed by Sameer Vidwans, Waiting Hai marks another project that blends comedy with a crime-driven narrative. The filmmaker, who has previously helmed films including Anandi Gopal and Satyaprem Ki Katha, brings the story to the screen as a desi scam dramedy. Waiting Hai will stream for free on Prime Video as an MX Original. The series will also be available on the MX Player Android app, now refreshed under the identity MX Player by Prime Video. The free, ad-supported service is available across mobile devices, Connected TVs, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video and Fire TV. The makers are expected to announce the streaming date of Waiting Hai soon. Harsh Beniwal and Shivangi Joshi return with Prime Videos Heartbeats Season 2; trailer out now
Prime Video has unveiled the trailer of the MX Original Heartbeats Season 2, taking viewers back into the world of Veridian Hospital, where young doctors find themselves caught between professional ambitions, complicated relationships and unexpected challenges. Directed by Tanmai Rastogi, written by Amogh Ranadive and Garima Kunzru, and produced by Rusk Media, the 20-episode medical dramedy is set to premiere on September 9, 2026. The second season brings back Harsh Beniwal and Shivangi Joshi in their respective roles as Dr. Akshat and Dr. Saanjh. They are joined by Rohan Gurbaxani, Yuvraj Dua, Naqiah Hazi, Ankit Siwach and Aditi Sharma. The trailer opens with Akshat and Saanjh dealing with unresolved differences and the complications surrounding their relationship. As their personal equation continues to evolve, the story also shifts focus to the professional challenges faced by the young doctors at Veridian Hospital. Ambition takes centre stage as the characters chase new opportunities, while a medical scam threatens to expose a darker side of the institution where they have built their careers. With personal loyalties and professional aspirations pulling the characters in different directions, the trailer suggests that matters of the heart could become as complicated as the high-pressure world of medicine. Speaking about the series, Amogh, Director and Head of AVOD Content, Prime Video India, said, At Prime Video, we believe in bringing audiences stories that offer a fresh & entertaining perspective with them. Heartbeats has always found its strength in the space between the white coats and the lives underneath them. It brings together the intensity of hospital life with the emotions, relationships, and uncertainties of being young. With Season 2, that world becomes more layered and unpredictable, as familiar characters evolve and new dynamics emerge. Harsh Beniwal, who reprises the role of Akshat, said, Akshat has always been someone who leads with his heart, but this season really puts that quality to the test. There is a lot more at stake for him this time, and what I enjoyed most was exploring the quieter conflicts behind everything we see on the surface. His journey is not just about what happens to him, but about how those experiences change the way he sees himself, the people he cares about, and the choices he makes. Returning to Heartbeats felt familiar in the best way, but Season 2 definitely pushes Akshat into places we havent seen before. Shivangi Joshi also opened up about returning as Saanjh, saying, What I love about Saanjh is that her journey is never just about one decision or one relationship. This season allows us to see her become more certain of herself, even as the people and circumstances around her make things far more complicated. There is a lot of emotion, romance and drama, but also a very real sense of growing up and learning to stand by your choices. It has been such a special experience to return to this world, and I genuinely cannot wait for audiences to watch Heartbeats Season 2 on Prime Video and experience everything this season has in store. Heartbeats Season 2 will stream exclusively and for free from September 9, 2026, on Prime Video and the MX Player Android app, now refreshed as MX Player by Prime Video. The series will be available across mobile devices, Connected TVs, the Amazon shopping app, Prime Video and Fire TV. Saif Ali Khan is set to return to the big screen with Haiwaan, which is scheduled to release in cinemas on September 11. Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks Saifs first collaboration with the filmmaker and also brings him back on screen with Akshay Kumar after 18 years. While details about the plot have largely been kept under wraps, Saif has now opened up about filming an intense action sequence for the film. In Haiwaan, Saif plays a visually impaired character who is also trained in martial arts. Speaking about one of the action sequences, the actor revealed that the scene involves his character being attacked before eventually retaliating. It's a scene with a great build-up because the characters torture and bash up my character, kicking and slapping him. As an audience, you want him to retaliate which he eventually does, Saif teased the role. The actor also discussed the physicality involved in shooting the sequence and credited stunt master Silva for choreographing the fight. According to Saif, the scene was filmed without extensive use of visual effects or stunt doubles. He went on to add, That fight was really well choreographed by Silva and there's no special effects added to it, there were no duplicates. There's very little fakery in these scenes. The room has broken glass everywhere. It was very raw and kind of violent and it was utterly exhausting because after that I had to lie down for two days. Saif further explained that the sequence did not rely on CGI or harness-based action and admitted that the physical demands left him exhausted. I thought I was alright but I was exhausted because that is how intense the action scene was. It's wasn't CGI or harness backed action scenes, the fight scene is just raw. It was really lots of fun to perform, she shared. While Saif had requested training ahead of the sequence, he said there was not much preparation in the lead-up to the shoot. Instead, he rehearsed some of the movements with the stunt director before filming. There wasn't much prep before the scene. I had asked for training, but it didn't work out like that. However, we did rehearse a couple of moves but the idea was to make it very raw. I remember, after the scene was shot, there was a lot of glass pieces on the floor from the broken photo frames and cupboards being smashed, he recalled. Saif also acknowledged that the physical nature of the sequence came with some minor injuries, while highlighting how the action is connected to the narrative. Luckily not too many injuries but there's always some cuts and bruises. However, the scene lands well in the film owing to the plot because you want him to bash those people who are being up after they've been so bad to him so it's really nicely done Silva is a master, Saif concluded. Haiwaan also stars Boman Irani, Sayami Kher and Shriya Pilgaonkar in crucial roles. The film is slated to release in cinemas on September 11. In November 2025, the court directed the Centre to take steps toward ensuring effective legal representation for Vikrant and asked authorities to attempt to facilitate communication between the siblings. However, in March 2026, the Delhi High Court rejected Celinas plea seeking consular access, legal assistance and communication with her brother after it was informed that Vikrant did not wish to communicate with her and wanted to handle legal matters after consulting his wife, Charul Jaitly. Following the development, Celina maintained that her primary concern had always been her brothers safety and well-being. She also suggested that his decision not to communicate with her could have been an effort to protect her from further emotional distress. Neha Dhupia reveals what keeps her relevant on Roadies after 21 years: I have an authentic voice
Actress, entrepreneur and influencer Neha Dhupia recently spoke about staying relevant in a rapidly changing entertainment landscape and adapting to evolving audience preferences. She was joined by Alok Jain, Head of Hindi & English Entertainment at JioStar, at an event focused on how Gen-Z is influencing brands, culture and consumer behaviour. During the conversation, Neha discussed the importance of evolving professionally while retaining an authentic identity. Reflecting on her career and her association with Roadies, she said, People want to hear your stories; you want to sell the same narrative that you believe in. You have to keep evolving all the time but never forget where you actually come from. I know I have an authentic voice and I dont want to pretend to be this other person. Even if Roadies is in its twenty-first year, I am a mother of two, and I take immense pride in saying I didnt think, as a woman in my 40s, I would be on a youth-based show that is loved, that is cult, that will be in its twenty-first year, and I was not married and none of that when I got on the show. But at the same time, I knew the one thing that kept me from getting from that point to here. That I have a voice, that I wanna put it across; I dont wanna offend people. But having said that, I dont think because things are trending I will say something thats not me. I think you can be under different umbrellas, keeping the authenticity intact. Neha also reflected on how her multiple professional roles and motherhood have influenced her perspective. Her comments centred on finding a balance between adapting to changing expectations and remaining consistent with her own voice. The discussion also touched upon the role of entertainment in responding to changing cultural trends and consumer behaviour. Alok Jain highlighted the need for the industry to understand and adapt to generational shifts, sharing, One need not resist change; one needs to accept, understand and adapt to the changing requirements in consumer behaviour. Every new generation is very different than the previous one and for us and the entertainment industry in many product categories, the competition is the next company; in our case, the competition is time because, as people age, consumer behaviour changes. The problem here is how to build fandom and fandom builds when you create opportunities for people to converse and have multiple touchpoints. So what we are doing is we are increasing that surface area of our products, making content available everywhere. When we launched our recent show Hustle, we wanted to be on Spotify; we want to look at live experiences, social media, television, digital, mobile phones, thereby reaching every surface possible! Nehas association with Roadies continues in its twenty-first year, with the actress remaining part of the franchise despite its long-standing evolution as a youth-focused property. The conversation also underlined how changing platforms and audience habits are influencing the way entertainment properties build engagement. Roadies - REBIRTH and Hustle 5 - Apna Homeground are currently available through JioStar and MTV India. Elnaaz Norouzi is ready for her Hollywood adventure as The Fix nears theatrical release
With The Fix only days away from its theatrical release, Elnaaz Norouzi is stepping into a new chapter in her international career. The actress takes on her first leading role in a Hollywood film, starring as Zara alongside Liam Neeson and Zachary Levi in Guy Moshes action thriller, arriving in U.S. theatres on September 11. For Elnaaz, The Fix marks a very different kind of milestone. Zara isnt simply a character passing through the story. She becomes increasingly central as the film unfolds, with her choices ultimately playing a crucial role in where the story goes. Zara is introduced as an Iranian-born, American-raised college student who finds herself posing as Tuckers wife as he navigates a dangerous mission in Iran. What begins as an arrangement soon becomes more complicated, as the relationship between Zara and Tucker develops and the stakes around them continue to rise. The role also carries a particularly personal connection for Elnaaz. Born in Tehran herself, she speaks both Farsi and English in the film and brought an innate understanding of Iran and its culture to the character. Interestingly, however, playing Zara required her to put much of her own experience and beliefs aside. The actress has previously spoken about having to approach Zara without judgment and understand why the character thinks, believes and behaves the way she does. For an actress who first became widely known in India through Sacred Games, The Fix represents more than another international credit. The Fix releases in U.S. theatres on September 11. Rohit Saraf is set to portray revolutionary Sachindra Nath Sanyal in Prime Videos upcoming period drama series The Revolutionaries. The actor has undergone an extensive physical transformation for the role, following director Nikkhil Advanis vision for his appearance as a young revolutionary. Speaking about his preparation for the series, Rohit revealed that the physical aspect of the character required nearly 15 months of work. He also underwent around three months of training in traditional physical disciplines, including Mallakhamb and Kushti. Primarily, my preparation was physical. It took me almost 15 months to transform my body, while the training in different art forms for the series lasted about three months, he said. Saraf went on to continue, When I met Nikkhil sir for the first time, he told me he wanted me to have a physique like Brad Pitt in Fight Club. And I remember thinking, I was active, I was fit, but I was definitely not Brad Pitt from Fight Club. So a huge part of the preparation was getting my body to where he envisioned it for the character. Beyond that, he also wanted me to learn Mallakhamb, Kushti and other forms of physical training. The sessions were intense and, in all honesty, pretty gruelling. I would constantly send Nikkhil sir videos of what we were doing, and I think what I enjoyed most was seeing, bit by bit, how all of that training was changing the way I looked and moved. Rohits physical transformation is part of his preparation to step into the world of the freedom struggle and portray Sanyal, a revolutionary figure associated with Indias independence movement. The actors look has already drawn attention following the release of glimpses and the trailer of the series. Inspired by true events, The Revolutionaries is set against the backdrop of Indias freedom struggle. The series is created and directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment. It is based on Sanjeev Sanyals bestselling book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom. The series features an ensemble cast, including Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada in lead roles. Jason Shah, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury are also part of the cast in key roles. The Revolutionaries is scheduled to premiere on September 11 exclusively on Prime Video.
