Kartik Aaryan recently marked his first National Award win by seeking blessings at Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai. The actor, who was honoured with the National Award for Best Actor for his performance in Chandu Champion, visited the Lalbaugcha Raja pandal a day after receiving the prestigious honour. On Wednesday, Kartik was spotted at the pandal dressed in a traditional kurta. He carried his National Award with him as he arrived to offer prayers to Lord Ganesha. After bowing before Bappa, the actor placed his National Award at the deitys feet and sought blessings. While the film did not perform strongly at the box office, Kartiks performance was widely noted. After his win, Kartik shared a video capturing the moment his name was announced on stage and reflected on his journey from Gwalior to receiving the National Award. He wrote, Looking back affectionately with a smile at that mummas boy from Gwalior who dared to dream of becoming an actor from an environment, where people laugh at such dreams and move on. Finally, I witnessed and lived the moment... still numb with excitement and nervousness. He further wrote, A dream of a small town boy...the dream of every actor in the country...The National Award for Best Actor Chandu Nahi, Champiyon hai Main, I will always be grateful and indebted to Kabir sir and Sajid sir for trusting me with the responsibility of playing Indias first Paralympic Gold Champion- Murlikant Petkar sir on the big screen. Kartik also credited his parents, friends and team for supporting him throughout his journey. He said he wanted to share his biggest honour with every Paralympian in the country and those who continued to pursue their dreams despite challenges. On the work front, Kartik will next appear in Naagzilla, a fantasy comedy directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba. The actor will play an icchadhari naag in the film, which is backed by Dharma Productions and Mahaveer Jain Films. The film is now scheduled to release on February 12, 2027. Ayushmann Khurrana is set to appear in Udta Teer, a spy comedy that combines elements of patriotism, confusion and situational humour. The actor plays a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and begins to believe that he is Indian. At the trailer launch of the film on Wednesday, September 24, Khurrana spoke about the unusual premise and his approach to playing the character. In Udta Teer, Khurrana plays Bilal Ahmed, a Pakistani spy who suffers memory loss. While he retains his patriotic feelings, he forgets which country he belongs to and starts identifying himself as an Indian. This confusion forms the central premise of the comedy. At the trailer launch, Khurrana was asked whether it was difficult for him to chant Pakistan Zindabad while portraying a Pakistani agent. The actor said that he simply followed what was required of his character in the script. Thats part of the script ya. As an actor, you are ready to do anything. Voh toh hota hi raha hai, har ek spy film mein hota hai. But the difference is that this is a spy comedy. Spy comedy hai, patriotic comedy hai, genre bender hai. Main hamesha script ko pehle dekhta hoon. Whatever the script demands from me, I do. And I am a directors baby, and he has written a fantastic script, Khurrana said. Sara Ali Khan, who stars opposite Khurrana, also discussed their different on-screen equation in the film. Many expect an intense tussle for screens, especially at single-screen cinemas. Bollywood Hungama exclusively spoke with Kamal Gianchandani, Chief Business Planning & Strategy at PVR INOX Limited and CEO of PVR INOX Pictures Limited, about this aspect. When asked whether he expects screen-sharing problems to arise, he replied, Its a good problem to have! We have a very experienced team who have been doing it for ages. Well handle it. Theres no problem with respect to capacities. In India, we have enough and more capacity to now handle 2 or 3 big releases in the same week. Well handle it easily. Two days from now, on Friday, September 25, Avengers Endgame: Encore will release and is expected to open with a bang. Kamal Gianchandani predicted, The advances are fantastic. Itll smash all re-release records without a doubt. Interestingly, the hype surrounding the re-release of Avengers Endgame: Encore also indicates the enormous anticipation for the next film in the franchise, Avengers: Doomsday, which is expected to put up a huge number on its opening day. Vir Das has received his third International Emmy nomination, with his latest Netflix stand-up special Vir Das: Fool Volume earning a nomination at the International Emmy Awards. With this recognition, Das becomes the first Indian performer to receive three International Emmy nominations for his work. The nomination adds another milestone to Das international career. His International Emmy journey began in 2021, when his Netflix special Vir Das: For India was nominated in the Comedy category. In 2023, he returned to the nominations with Vir Das: Landing, which went on to win the International Emmy for Comedy. The win also made him the first Indian comedian to receive the honour. With Fool Volume, Das is now a three-time International Emmy nominee, with all three nominations coming for his Netflix comedy specials. The latest recognition also marks another collaboration with Netflix, with Vir Das: Fool Volume being his fifth special for the streaming platform. The special was shot across Mumbai, London and New York. It was shaped by an unexpected setback when Das lost his voice shortly before he was scheduled to shoot the show. He subsequently rewrote the special in silence and performed much of it without rehearsal. The experience became central to the themes explored in the special, including silence, happiness, foolishness and finding ones voice. Speaking about the nomination, Vir Das said, Theres something wonderfully strange about being nominated for an International Emmy for a show called Fool Volume. This special came from a period when I literally lost my voice, so to see something that began in silence travel this far is pretty surreal. For India was the first time I understood that our comedy could find a home on a global stage, Landing gave me an Emmy, and now Fool Volume has brought me back into that conversation. Im incredibly grateful to Netflix, my team and everyone who helped make this very strange, very personal show. Three nominations is something I never imagined when we made the first one, so Im just going to enjoy the fact that the fool keeps getting louder. The mediapersons were an annoyed lot as the event started 1 hours and 45 minutes late. However, Ayushmann apologized for the delay and said that he was stuck in heavy traffic. Ayushmann Khurrana assured that its a film like no other. He said, I don't think you can compare this movie to any other film because this is a genre bender for me. Suhail Nayyar is set to take on a different screen avatar in Udta Teer, the upcoming spy comedy directed by Akash A. Kaushik. The actor, who shares screen space with Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in the film, has revealed details about the physical preparation he underwent for his role. Nayyar plays a spy in Udta Teer, with the character described as layered and complex. For the part, the actor underwent a physical transformation that included building muscle and sporting a moustache, a look that marks a departure from his previous appearances on screen. The actor trained regularly during the preparation process and followed a protein-heavy diet as he worked towards developing the physicality required for the character. He also spent time watching spy thrillers to familiarise himself with the genre. His preparation included shows such as The Family Man, Special Ops, The Night Manager and Fauda. Speaking about the experience, Suhail Nayyar said, Udta Teer gave me a chance to play a completely different, never-seen-before avatar. The character required a certain physicality, so I trained every day, changed my diet and worked towards gaining muscle for the part. The moustache added another layer to the transformation. I also worked quite a bit on the dialect because I wanted it to feel natural and rooted in the character. Beyond the look and voice, there are a lot of layers and complexities to him, but hes also a lot of fun. Aakash has made a really fresh spy comedy, and Im very grateful to Guneet, Achin and Dharma Productions for trusting me with this role. Ayushmann is brilliant at what he does and just as lovely off screen. We had a great time working together.
