Why horror is the one genre that doesnt need a superstar to sell tickets
Look closely at India's biggest horror hits of the last few years and a pattern emerges: reviews have been mixed, sometimes outright polarising, and it hasn't mattered. Audiences have shown up anyway, packing houseful shows for weeks on the strength of premise and atmosphere rather than a marquee name at the top of the poster. Hollywood has been running the same playbook for over a decade. The Conjuring universe, The Nun, Obsession - none of them lean on A-list star power. Their pull is the idea: the haunted object, the possessed house, the thing waiting behind the door. Horror may be the only genre left where the concept sells the ticket, not the cast. Insidious is arguably the franchise that proved this first. Across five films and thirteen years, it built one of Hollywood's most reliable box-office engines without ever leaning on a single above-the-title star, instead trading on a self-contained mythology (The Further, astral projection, the red door) that audiences return to, film after film, purely because they trust the universe. That trust is exactly what Sony Pictures is banking on with Insidious: Out of the Further, releasing pan-India on August 21 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. In a market where horror has repeatedly proven it doesn't need a star to sell out a show, Insidious arrives as the franchise that never needed one to begin with, a case study now playing out in four languages at once. Former IAS officer and actor Abhishek Singh is set to take on the role of a fearless police officer in his upcoming film Gunmaaster G9. Directed by Aditya Datt, the action-romance drama will feature Singh alongside Emraan Hashmi, Genelia DSouza and Aparshakti Khurana. Singh, who recently made his acting debut with the historical drama 1946: Direct Action Day, said his experience in public service helped him approach the role differently. Having worked as an IAS officer, he believes his understanding of authority and responsibility gave him a personal reference point while portraying a police officer on screen. Most actors step in front of the camera to play authority; Ive had the privilege of living it in the real world first. Having served on the ground as an IAS officer, I understand the weight, discipline, and split-second decisions that come with holding responsibility, Singh said. He added that his previous career also influenced the way he approached the character in Gunmaaster G9. Bringing that lived experience into the reel world for Gunmaaster G9 gave my character a raw, authentic edge. In public service, governance taught me conviction; in cinema, this role allowed me to channel that exact mindset into high-octane action, he said. For Singh, playing a police officer was not simply about wearing the uniform. Stepping into the boots of a fearless cop wasnt just about putting on a uniform. It was about bridging real-life duty with reel-life intensity, he added. Abhishek Singh takes on a different role after debut Singh's upcoming role comes shortly after his acting debut in 1946: Direct Action Day, where he stepped into a demanding historical setting. With Gunmaaster G9, he will move into a contemporary action-driven world and explore a character defined by courage and determination. The film also features Emraan Hashmi, Genelia DSouza and Aparshakti Khurana in pivotal roles. Directed by Aditya Datt, Gunmaaster G9 is expected to combine action, romance and drama. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on November 27, 2026. For Singh, the project marks another step in his transition from public service to acting, while allowing him to draw from his real-life experiences for a fictional character. The Traitors Season 2 has already delivered plenty of drama within its opening episodes, with four contestants exiting the Prime Video reality show so far. Dalip Tahil, Sondous Moufakir, Munawar Faruqui, and Harman Singha have all bid goodbye to the competition, but the makers have now released deleted scenes that offer a closer look at some of the moments that did not make it to the episodes. Among the highlights is a conversation involving Shalini Passi, who made an observation about Mallika Sherawat's outfit and claimed that the luxury label associated with it was not genuine. Another deleted clip features Munawar Faruqui's speech following his elimination, where he reflected on why he believed the contestants were targeting him. Shalini Passi makes a claim about Mallika Sherawat's outfit In one of the deleted scenes, Shalini Passi appears to discuss Mallika Sherawat's fashion choices. She claims that she noticed the Dolce & Gabbana branding while helping Sherawat fix her microphone and alleged that the outfit was not actually from the luxury fashion house. Shalini said, Maine ek hafta pehle hari rang ki dress aur golden pehni hai Dolce ki, woh nahin hai aisi, main uska mic theek karne gayi thi uska brand dikh gayi woh hai hi nahin Dolce, sab jhut bol rahi hai. She went on to compare the outfit with pieces from her own wardrobe, saying that she has owned certain garments for years and has also had outfits custom-made. 17-18 ke age se pehle rahi hoon kapde, woh bhi banwa ke yeh nahin hai aur main tumhe photos bejhungi, she said, before mentioning her own green and gold outfits and designers including Versace and Elie Saab. The comments have now become part of the deleted footage released by the makers, giving viewers another glimpse into the conversations happening inside the reality show. Munawar Faruqui's deleted elimination speech surfaces Another deleted scene features Munawar Faruqui during his elimination. In the speech, the comedian suggested that the contestants were less interested in identifying a Traitor and more focused on getting him out of the game. Woh log traitor nahin dhoondh rahe the, woh log ko Munawar chahiye tha. Woh insecurities dikhi hai, Munawar said. He also spoke about his tendency to trust people and how that has played out in his life. Mujhe pasand hai logo pe trust karna. Meri poori life mein hua hai jab mai saccha hoon aur maine bolne ki koshish ki hai mai saccha hoon, logon ne nahin maana hai, he said. Munawar then addressed Abhishek Malhan, suggesting that his previous experiences had made him more cautious about taking risks with another celebrity. Abhishek Malhan, ek baar tu burn ho chuka hai. Kisi aur bade celebrity ke sath ek baar tu thoda jal chuka hai, toh uske baad tu risk nahin lega, he said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by prime video IN (@primevideoin) He also directly called out Harman Baweja over his actions during the game, saying, Harman bro, what a bitch you are bro, what a bitch, why did you lie bro? Ajay Bijli is known as the founder of PVR and the Managing Director of PVR INOX. But he also has a musical side to him. He has been the voice behind tracks like Beparwah and Wahe Guru in the past; the latter eventually became a part of the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Dunki (2023). He has now come up with his own EP titled On Another Note. The three songs from the same Rab Rakhda, Shukriya and Dil Kare Haye Haye released today. Sharing his reaction on the release, Ajay Bijli told Bollywood Hungama exclusively, It is very exciting. I have done a couple of songs before this. One was, of course, a rendition of Wahe Guru. The music was done by Sheykhar Ravjiani. That was exciting. Then it got picked up in a movie called Dunki in 2023. That gave me confidence that I can sing. I have always been very fond of singing since childhood. But I have always done covers. He added, When I was 16, I cut an album of English songs. I used to travel to England a lot. And I had made a small group called Photonics. I and my sister used to write poetry. I made 5-6 English songs. But after that I started doing covers only. I had a band in college called Modus Operandi. Of course, then I started PVR, so there was no singing (laughs) for a long time. He reconnected with singing during COVID and found a band called Random Order, which still exists. Again, we were doing covers, he said. But somewhere I was surrounded by singers, musicians and my own band members; they all said that I should do originals now. I thought I should do an English original as all my covers were in English. I also had a teacher who was American. But I also had a Hindi teacher. I thought if I am in India and I love independent music, then I should do original Indian music. Bijli has been fond of the music created by Sheykhar Ravjiani and Amit Trivedi. He made the film Aisha (2010), in which he liked Amits music. I told him I wish to do something original, he said. So, he came out with this song Beparwah. When the song came out, he said that it has come out very well and he liked the way I sang it. He said that he is coming up with an album Azaad Collab where he is collaborating with established singers like Javed Ali and Armaan Malik. He said, I dont mind if you also get included in that if you are okay. I said I dont mind. I said I am a businessman who is very fond of singing, so he if he likes my song, I am very happy to do that. That album and song did very well. When it came to On Another Note, Bijli thought about the first song Dil Kare Haye Haye when he was in Delhi for a wedding of his friends son. My friend asked me to sing some Hindi songs. At that time, I thought there is another Punjabi song on wedding that can be made. It completely exemplifies how an Indian wedding happens. So, I spoke to Shellee (Shailender Singh), the writer of Udta Punjab. He is a brilliant writer. I spoke to him and Amit and said that we should do a Punjabi song for a wedding. When I sang, it turned out be well. We then added more tadka to it. We then made a video, which will come out after 15-20 days. Ganesh Acharya did the choreography, he said. Both Shellee and Amit suggested that they should keep this one as the second or third song. Thats because I have an image of running a company; a corporate image. So, they said let us come out with something sober to begin with. Thats how Rab Rakhda came. It turned out to be well. Warner Music said that we should make a video of this. But I am not an actor from any stretch of imagination (laughs). I dont mind being portrayed as a singer in a video. Even in my Wahe Guru video, I am there only 10-20% of the times. The song is a love triangle. But I am only there for 10-20%, just to establish that I am a singer, said Bijli. Sharing the thought behind Shukriya, he said, I believe in a lot of gratitude and I see a lot of people who are not thankful for what they have. Koi thankful hi nahin hai aaj ki duniya mein. I spoke to Shellee and Amit and all the light bulbs lit up. Amit turned up with an amazing composition and beautiful lyrics in not even seven days. I then suggested adding a Sufi touch to it. Then it became even bigger. We will make a video of this too. It will be a very big video. Rab Rakhda has the word Rab, which means God. Shukriya is about being grateful for what one has while Bijlis earlier song Wahe Guru was also about God. When asked if he is more inclined towards divine and spiritual numbers, he said, I am spiritual and I do recite Gods name, like everyone. But Rab Rakhda was never thought to be a divine song. It was always a love song. It has Rab ka naam but it is like Rab is looking at your love story as well. It is not a prayer. It is still a love song. Shukriya is not a divine song. But a sufi song can be divine and love song. But you are right in both the songs there is a divine angle. But that was not the intention. If you watch the video, it is not about God. It is about so many people you can be grateful to. Signing off, Ajay Bijli said about On Another Note, I have put my heart and soul into it and given as much passion as I do when I open a PVR cinema. Ektaa Kapoor takes popular Naagin franchise from TV to Cinema
Ektaa Kapoor has officially confirmed that her popular supernatural franchise Naagin is set to make its way from television to the big screen. The filmmaker-producer made the announcement on the occasion of Nag Panchami, putting an end to speculation surrounding the future of the long-running franchise. According to Ektaa, a Naagin movie is currently in the works. The announcement came on August 17, when Ektaa shared a cryptic social media post wishing fans on Nag Panchami and teasing that something exciting was on the way. She later confirmed that Naagin would not return to television in the same format at this point, instead hinting at a cinematic adaptation of the popular shape-shifting serpent franchise. Since its television debut in 2015, Naagin has become one of Indian televisions most recognisable supernatural properties. Created by Ektaa Kapoor and produced under Balaji Telefilms, the franchise has explored stories involving shape-shifting serpents, revenge, romance, family conflicts and supernatural powers. Over the years, the show has featured multiple seasons and several actors in its lead roles, building a dedicated fan base. View this post on Instagram A post shared by EktaaRkapoor (@ektarkapoor) While the film has been confirmed, details about its cast, director, storyline and release date are yet to be announced. This has already sparked speculation among fans about whether the movie will introduce an entirely new set of characters or connect with the mythology established by the television series. Priyanka Chahar Choudhary was the last Naagin from the recent seasons. The transition to cinema also comes as Indian entertainment increasingly explores the possibility of expanding popular television concepts into films and other formats. A theatrical Naagin could give the supernatural franchise an opportunity to present its world on a larger scale, with bigger production values and visual effects. Naagzilla with Kartik Aaryan also in the works Meanwhile, the serpent-themed concept has also attracted attention in Bollywood through Karan Johars Naagzilla, starring Kartik Aaryan. The fantasy comedy revolves around a shape-shifting serpent and was earlier scheduled to release on August 14, 2026. Its announcement had led to comparisons with Ektaas Naagin franchise on social media. With Ektaa Kapoor now confirming the Naagin movie, the franchise is entering a new phase beyond television. Fans will be keen to learn who will lead the film and how the familiar world of shape-shifting serpents will be adapted for the big screen. The makers of Hindi and Chhattisgarhi film Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha Shri Ram Kihave officially begun the films journey with the simultaneous launch of its first poster and teaser, while announcing that the epic will release in cinemas across India on 25 September 2026. While the first poster places Shri Ram and Mata Sita, portrayed by Dev Sharma and Anjali Arora, at the emotional heart of the film, the newly unveiled teaser opens the doors to the larger world of the Ramayana a world shaped by prem, aastha, tyaag, maryada and dharma. The poster celebrates one of the most timeless relationships known to civilisation, a love defined not merely by togetherness, but by unwavering faith, sacrifice, duty and devotion. Against a majestic and spiritually evocative landscape, Shri Ram and Mata Sita stand as the emotional anchors of a story that has lived across generations. The teaser takes that emotion forward, moving through the grandeur of Ayodhya, intimate moments between Shri Ram and Mata Sita, and the journey into vanvaas, while offering glimpses of the scale, beauty and spiritual world in which the story unfolds. Rather than introducing the Ramayana only through war and spectacle, the makers have chosen love, faith and sacrifice as the first emotional doorway into the epic. Shri Ram and Mata Sitas bond is presented as a love that endured separation, exile, adversity and destiny, while their commitment to dharma and maryada remained unwavering. The film aims to take the eternal story of the Ramayana to a new generation while remaining rooted in the values that have enabled it to live in Indian homes, traditions and hearts for thousands of years. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Anjali Arora (@anjimaxuofficially) Director Abhishek Singh says, The Ramayana contains everything, love, family, sacrifice, courage, devotion, duty and the eternal conflict between dharma and adharma. But at the centre of this vast epic are deeply human emotions. Shri Ram and Mata Sitas journey is an extraordinary story of love, faith and sacrifice. We wanted the first poster and teaser to begin with these emotions before gradually revealing the larger world of the Ramayana. This is not merely a story we know; it is a story whose values continue to guide generations. Speaking about portraying Shri Ram, Dev Sharma says, Playing Shri Ram is not a role one can approach simply as an actor. His name carries the faith and emotions of millions of people, and that brings with it an enormous responsibility. I have tried to approach him with complete sincerity and devotion, and to understand the strength, compassion, patience and maryada that define him. I hope audiences, especially the younger generation, are able to connect with those values through our film. Anjali Arora, who portrays Mata Sita, says, For me, playing Mata Sita has been one of the most emotional and responsible journeys of my life. She represents immense strength, dignity, patience and faith. Her love for Shri Ram is profound, but what inspires me equally is her inner courage and the grace with which she faces every trial. I knew from the beginning that this character had to be approached with complete respect and sincerity. I hope audiences see the devotion and effort with which we have tried to bring her to the screen. The film features Dev Sharma as Shri Ram, Anjali Arora as Mata Sita, Sheel Verma as Lakshman, Nirbhay Wadhwa as Hanuman and Rajniesh Duggal as Ravan, bringing together the central characters of the legendary epic. The poster and teaser mark the beginning of an extensive campaign that will gradually explore the many dimensions of the Ramayana: prem, bhakti, maryada, vanvaas, sacrifice, Hanumans unparalleled devotion and the eventual triumph of dharma. Music will also form an important part of the films journey, with celebrated voices including Kailash Kher, Javed Ali, Shaan, Shahid Mallya, Anup Jalota, Vaishali Samant and Krishna Beura associated with its musical album. Produced by Prakash Mahobiya and Sanjay Bundela under the banner of Mahobiya Films Production Pvt. Ltd., Mahakavya Shri Ramayan Katha Shri Ram Ki is directed by Abhishek Singh and presented by A J Films' Entertainment World, headed by Ajay Kanojiya. Co-Produced by Monika Sen, Honey Kuldeep Agrawal, Jugal Tiwari and Associate producer Anand Tiwari (AJ Films). Yash becomes Philips Indias grooming brand ambassador ahead of Toxic release
Fans did the scouting this time. Earlier this year, viewers spotted actor Yash reaching for a Philips trimmer in a behind-the-scenes clip, and the moment quickly snowballed into a talking point across social media. Philips India has now made that viral moment official, naming Yash as brand ambassador for its mens grooming portfolio. The company has unveiled a new campaign, Trimmers Ka Baap, built around the actor. Philips has also come on board as the official grooming partner for Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups, the film starring Yash that is set for a worldwide release on August 26, 2026. According to Telegraph Online, the tie-up links his on-screen persona to his off-screen grooming choices. Yash said, Ive trusted Philips with my grooming for years, long before this partnership was even a conversation. So, this felt like the next step with a brand I already believe in. Grooming is part of everyday life and having products that deliver consistency and performance matters to me, and thats what I value about Philips. The campaign centres on the Philips All-in-One Trimmer with BeardSense Technology, which reads beard density 125 times a second and adjusts its power as it moves across both dense and fine hair, aiming for a consistently even trim. Smit Shukla, Zone Business Leader, Personal Health, Philips Indian Subcontinent, said the partnership grew out of genuine trust. He said, The best partnerships are often the most authentic ones. When fans organically discovered Yash using a Philips trimmer, it reinforced the trust consumers have placed in Philips over the years. As one of Indias most loved style icons, Yash perfectly embodies confidence, individuality and excellence in grooming. The campaign will roll out across digital platforms, social media, cinema, OTT, outdoor advertising, retail and experiential touchpoints in the coming weeks, tying together entertainment and grooming under one storytelling push. Abhishek Bachchan reveals why he invested in sports: I never looked upon it as a business
In a candid conversation with PwC India Chairperson Sanjeev Krishan on the podcast Future Unplugged, Abhishek Bachchan opened up about the quieter, lesser-known side of his journey, the one that has little to do with the silver screen and everything to do with long-term institution building in sports. While most people still primarily know him as an actor born into one of Indian cinemas most powerful legacies, Bachchan has spent the last decade deliberately creating a second, independent identity as a sports entrepreneur. You already have one huge legacy, Krishan observed during the conversation. And youre creating another one at the same time. Bachchan traced his love for sports back to his father, Amitabh Bachchan. My love for sport was inculcated in me by my father, whos a huge sports fan, he said. He recalled childhood memories of his father teaching him kabaddi in their garden and introducing him to global sporting icons like Muhammad Ali, Pel, Zico and Scrates. That early exposure, he said, never left him. His entry into professional sports ownership began almost by chance with the Jaipur Pink Panthers in the Pro Kabaddi League. What started as a passion project quickly became a hands-on commitment. Bachchan moved to Jaipur weeks before the first season, trained with the players, monitored their diet, and even helped with the smallest operational details. I never looked upon it as a business. I still dont, he admitted, adding with a smile that his accountant is not particularly happy about that attitude. The same philosophy guided his investment in Chennaiyin FC in the Indian Super League. Both teams, he noted, operate in sports that are not Indias dominant passion, which made the journey more challenging and more meaningful. Everything gets compared to cricket, he said. We have a long way to go, but I firmly believe it will pay off in time. That belief has now taken him to Europe. As co-founder of the European T20 Premier League (ETPL), Bachchan is part of a group of Indian partners attempting to build a professional T20 club competition across Ireland, Scotland and the Netherlands, the last major cricket market without one. Its the last frontier, he explained. Australia, Africa, Asia, North America they all have competitive T20 leagues. Europe didnt. For Bachchan, the difference between simply owning a team and building a league is significant. I like building something, he said. Not just being in charge of a well-oiled machinery that is already created for me. He emphasised the importance of putting his own capital in first and attracting owners who share a long-term vision names like Steve Waugh, Faf du Plessis and Rahul Dravid among them. Reflecting on the difference between entertainment and sports audiences, Bachchan observed that sports fans are relentless and tribal. Unlike film audiences, who need to be constantly impressed, sports supporters bring a deeper, more enduring loyalty - provided the product is authentic and the intent is clear. Throughout the conversation, one theme remained consistent: the desire to create lasting impact rather than short-term returns. For me in sports, its about what can I do that makes a difference, Bachchan said. Because then I have something to do. Its not just signing a cheque. What emerges from the conversation is not just another celebrity investor story, but the portrait of a man steadily building a parallel legacy - one rooted in patience, personal capital, and long-term belief. In doing so, Abhishek Bachchan is proving that the most powerful second acts are often the ones built quietly, with conviction, and with the intent to last. Actress Isha Koppikar has responded to being labelled an andhbhakt, saying that her sense of allegiance is directed towards India rather than any political party. In a recent Instagram video, the actress spoke about patriotism, national pride and the importance of contributing to the country while maintaining that people can question policies and still place the nation first. The Kaante actress addressed the debate around her views by distinguishing supporting a country and supporting a political organisation. She said that her understanding of patriotism is rooted in wanting India to progress. If loving your country, believing in India, and wanting its progress is devotion, then yes, I am proud to be a devotee, a blind devotee. But my devotion is not for any political party, but for my country, for my India. Nation first. Wherever you may live, learn to love that place, respect that place, and contribute to it, she said. Isha Koppikar says patriotism is about contribution During the video, Isha also argued that patriotism should extend beyond simply expressing love for one's country. According to the actress, citizens should also think about how they can contribute to the progress of the country. Be proud of the home you choose. Because patriotism is not just saying, I love my country. It is doing something that makes your country better, she said. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Isha Koppikar (@isha_konnects) Isha further used the example of children and their relationship with their parents to explain her perspective. She suggested that instead of constantly focusing on what they have not received, people should also consider what they can contribute. See, there are two types of children. One, who counts all their life what their parents have not given and what they have given. And the second, whatever they get, they make it not only their own, but also their parents' life. The difference is not just in circumstances, but in thinking, she said. Instead of asking what the country has given us The actress went on to encourage people to shift their focus from what they expect from the country to what they can do for it. So why don't we also change our thinking? Instead of asking what the country has given us all the time, why don't we think about what we can give the country, what we can do for the country. Because India is changing, my friend. Now is the time for our thinking to change and we become a part of making a new India, Isha said. She also acknowledged the labels being used to describe her views, adding, So, call me a devotee, call me a blind devotee, call me a nationalist. Isha concluded the video by reiterating that her pride in being Indian does not mean she considers herself incapable of questioning things. I love my India. I believe in my India. Not blindly, but proudly, passionately, and unapologetically. Jai Hind. In the caption accompanying the video, she further clarified her position, writing, If loving India is andhbhakti, then Ill proudly wear the label. Because I can question what feels wrong, appreciate what feels right, and still put my nation above everything. Two snakes found at Shah Rukh Khans Mannat; one rescued, other escapes
Shah Rukh Khans iconic Mumbai residence Mannat witnessed an unexpected incident on Monday evening when two snakes were spotted on the property. The sighting prompted a rescue operation at the Bandra bungalow, with a snake rescuer and Forest Department officials being alerted. Fortunately, one of the snakes was identified as a non-venomous Dhaman, also known as the Indian rat snake, and was safely rescued. According to Hindustan Times, snake rescuer Vicky Dubey received a call around 8 pm after the two snakes were noticed moving around the premises. Dubey immediately informed Forest Department officials and the Mumbai Range Office, Thane, before making his way to Mannat. Upon reaching the residence, the rescuer found one Dhaman hiding underneath a staircase in the courtyard. The snake appeared frightened and stayed coiled as the rescue team approached. It was eventually rescued and later released into its natural habitat in accordance with Forest Department guidelines. Dubey also reassured those present that there was no need to panic. While one snake was successfully rescued, the second managed to escape from the property after being startled by the movement of people around it. The incident at Mannat comes months after a similar snake sighting at Salman Khans Galaxy Apartment. Earlier this year, a snake was reportedly spotted at the residence, following which a snake wrangler was called to safely capture the reptile and hand it over to the authorities. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan is gearing up for his upcoming action entertainer King. The film is particularly anticipated as it marks his daughter Suhana Khans theatrical debut after her screen debut in Zoya Akhtars The Archies on Netflix. Reportedly inspired by the 1994 classic Leon: The Professional, King features Shah Rukh as a veteran hitman who becomes the protector of a young girl. The film also stars Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Jaideep Ahlawat in key roles. For now, Mannats unexpected reptilian visitor has added an unusual twist to the superstars otherwise busy schedule, with one snake safely rescued and the other still missing from the property. The Great Grand Superhero to premiere on KidZ on Zee 5 on August 21
KidZ is set to bring a story of childhood, imagination and family bonds to screens with The Great Grand Superhero, which will premiere exclusively on KidZ on Zee 5 on August 21, 2026. Directed by Manish Saini, the Hindi fantasy drama stars Jackie Shroff along with Prateik Babbar, Bhagyashree, Sharat Saxena, Mihir Godbole and others. The film revolves around Dipu, a young boy who struggles to make friends whenever his fathers transferable job takes the family to a new city. Hoping to find acceptance at his new school, Dipu tells his classmates that his grandfather is actually a superhero whose identity can only be discovered by children. What begins as an innocent claim soon sparks the curiosity and imagination of Dipus classmates. As the children wait to see the mysterious superhero in action, Dipus grandfather decides to go along with the story and takes them on an adventure where fantasy and reality begin to merge. The film combines humour, adventure and emotion while exploring the power of belief, friendship and imagination. Speaking about the film, Chandan Khandelwal, Business Head, KidZ, said, At KidZ, we love bringing audiences stories that spark joy, and The Great Grand Superhero is one of those rare films that makes you believe in wonder again. In a time when so much of what we see around us can feel heavy, this film celebrates imagination, kindness and the simple joy of seeing the world through a child's eyes. What makes it even more special is the beautiful relationship between a grandfather and grandson at its core. Jackie Shroff's performance is filled with warmth, humour and humanity, and we're excited for viewers to experience a film that feels like a much-needed hug. View this post on Instagram A post shared by KidZ (@kidz_zee5) Director Manish Saini said, For me, The Great Grand Superhero has always been about holding on to a sense of wonder, no matter how old we get. The stories we hear, and share have a unique ability to spark hope, bring people closer, and remind us that the impossible may not be so impossible after all. While the film is playful and filled with adventure, it's really about the power of belief and the joy of seeing the world through fresh eyes. I'm grateful that KidZ on Zee 5 is bringing this story to a wider audience, and I hope it leaves viewers with a smile and a little more faith in magic. Jackie Shroff also shared his thoughts on the project, saying, What I really liked about The Great Grand Superhero is that it reminds you that you dont have to stop being curious or kind just because you have grown up. These are the things that keep us going. I really enjoyed working with Manish ji and the children on this film. There is something very refreshing about being around kids their innocence, energy and the way they look at the world can rub off on you. Life today can become very serious and fast, so sometimes you need a story that makes you sit back, smile and look at things with a little more innocence. The film has a lot of warmth, masti and heart, and I really enjoyed playing someone who believes in love and goodness. It is a beautiful story for children, but I feel even the grown-ups will enjoy it. Through KidZ on Zee 5, the film will reach an even larger audience and I hope more families can come together and enjoy it With its focus on childhood imagination, the bond between grandparents and grandchildren, and the idea that kindness and belief can be powerful forces, The Great Grand Superhero aims to offer a family-friendly viewing experience. The film will stream exclusively on KidZ on Zee 5 from August 21. Also Read : The Great Grand Superhero registers 18% occupancy; collects Rs 50 lakhs on Day 3
