MRPS activists get detained amid protests in Hyderabad Modi has arrived in Telangana for two days as part of the BJPs national executive meeting, where several crucial resolutions have been taken by the party. While the presence of Modi and other top leaders has boosted the political morale of BJPs state leadership and cadre, it has been met with taunts and criticism from Opposition parties including the TRS and Congress. Workers of the Congress party also held a march from Gandhi Bhavan to the BJP office on Sunday, releasing black balloons into the air and raising slogans against the PM. In the afternoon, hours ahead of Modi's scheduled address at the Parade Ground of Secunderabad amid tight security, Congress workers tried to stage a protest march to the Telangana BJP office over Modi's alleged anti-Telangana remarks. The protesters, however, were stopped on their way. Amid police resistance, the party leaders, led by Chairman of Fishermen Congress of Telangana Mettu Sai Kumar, released black balloons into the air. Videos of the protest showed Congressmen shouting Modi Down Down and Modi Go Back among other slogans while releasing the balloons. Alleging that the PM has mocked the formation of Telangana state on the floor of Parliament, Sai Kumar demanded that Modi should seek apology from the four crore people in Telangana. The shameless BJP leaders in Telangana are praising him now. But when Telangana was fighting to receive the status of a separate state under the Constitution, BJP had not even played a minor role in that struggle, he said. Earlier, Modi had reportedly said that the Telangana state was created without holding any discussion, at a time when the Parliament doors were closed. For a while now, the TRS and the BJP have been engaging in turf wars to occupy public spaces to showcase their strength in the form of advertisements hoardings, with the latter alleging that TRS has occupied all metro and public spaces in a bid to invisibilise their event. TNM Staff Image for representation/PTI In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing a public meeting organised by the BJP at Parade Ground in Secunderabad on July 3, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced that the metro stations of Paradise, Parade Ground and JBS will be closed between 5.30 pm and 8 pm. Trains will not halt at these stations during this time, owing to security concerns expressed by authorities, HMRL announced. Corridor 2 trains along the JBS-MGBS route will only run between Secunderabad West and MGBS during this time. However, there will be no change in train movement and station stoppages in Corridor 1, on the Miyapur-LB Nagar route, HMRL said. The public meeting is titled 'Vijay Sankalpa Sabha', and comes on the heels of the party's National Executive Committee meeting in Hyderabad. It is being speculated that PM Modi may sound the poll bugle at the public meeting for the 2023 Assembly polls in Telangana to prepare the BJP cadre for the electoral contest. Modi, who landed in Hyderabad on Saturday, July 2, to attend the BJP's two-day National Executive Committee meeting, will address the rally on Sunday evening. During his last visit to the city on May 26, Modi, indirectly referring to the TRS party, lashed out at family politics saying 'parivaarvadi' is democracy's greatest enemy. He had expressed confidence that the BJP would storm to power in the state in the next Assembly elections. According to political pundits, Modi is expected to continue his tirade against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the ruling TRS. For us, it's a medium for social emancipation and nation building, she said. A day earlier, Telangana Minister and TRS working president KT Rama Rao had remarked that the BJP national leaders who are attending the executive meeting in the state that will go to polls next year were political tourists. Undermining their meeting, KTRasked the BJP leaders to have Hyderabad biryani and Irani chai, and leave the state. Union Minister Irani also slammed Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao for violating protocol by not receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi when he arrived in Hyderabad. She claimed that the CM has not insulted an individual but an institution. KCR ji not only disrupted what has been constitutionally a federal protocol; it reflects on his personality, she said. The TRS had hit back at the BJP saying that it was not protocol for a Chief Minister to receive the Prime Minister who is participating in a political meeting. CM KCR, while endorsing the candidature of Yashwant Sinha for President, accused the BJP of practising autocratic politics and said it was intent on breaking governments, referring to the recent political crisis in Maharashtra. Responding to KCRs remarks, Irani claimed that it was KCR who was practising autocracy and has been violating the protocol. Taking a dig at the Telangana model of development, she said that the states development is steeped in corruption. Earlier in the day, during an interaction with the media, Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Anurag Thakur slammed the Telangana government, alleging that the law and order in the state was deteriorating. Minor girls are being raped and political bigwigs are involved in these crimes. For the IT industry to grow, maintaining law and order is a necessity. It is their responsibility to stop this, he said. Further criticising the growth claims of the state government under the TRS, he said that Telangana has a debt of Rs 2.50 lakh crore. Alleging misappropriation of funds from the Union government, Thakur alleged that KCR's family mismanaged funds worth Rs 87,000 crore disbursed towards irrigation projects. They may be able to hide behind it, but the people know the reality. The Chief Minister is accountable to the people. But he sits in his farmhouse and has no answers, he said. Talking about the upcoming Assembly elections in the state, he said that the primary contest in Telangana would be between the BJP and TRS. BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay Kumar claimed that the people of the state are fed up with the misrule of the TRS government and are looking for a change. He alleged that CM KCR is unning away whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the state. You (KCR) have increased power bills, bus charges, property tax and all. People are fed up with your misrule. That's why they are looking for a change. We will put an end to your 'naya Nizam' rule, Bandi Sanjay told reporters. With PTI inputs

EPS also criticised the incumbent CM, MK Stalin, for not supporting a tribal candidate while the DMK preaches about social justice. At an event in the Taj Hotel in Nungambakkam, Chennai on Saturday, July 2, EPS welcomed Murmu with a bouquet and a shawl, while EPS's rival and AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam (OPS) was also in the hotel but stayed in a room while EPS took the stage. Minister of State for Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries of India, L Murugan, BJP Tamil Nadu state president Annamalai, MLA Vanathi Sreenivasan were also present on the stage with EPS. Politics The CM along with his cabinet ministers went to the Begumpet airport just a few hours before the PM's arrival to receive Yashwant Sinha. TNM Staff The BJP is once again livid with Telangana Chief Minister (CM) Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). The CM once again skipped receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Hyderabad airport, the third time this year. The PM arrived in Hyderabad to attend the BJP's National Executive meeting, and KCR was conspicuous by his absence. Interestingly, the CM along with his cabinet ministers and a massive crowd of followers went to the Begumpet airport just a few hours before the PM's arrival to receive Yashwant Sinha, the opposition's Presidential candidate. BJP state chief spokesperson Krishnasaagar Rao termed the CM's decision to snap the convention of greeting the PM on his arrival as a defense mechanism. He said, CM KCR is looking like a rattled man, this is the third time he has skipped to follow the convention and protocol. He should give an explanation to the people. He also took dig at the CM KCR saying that mere violation of protocol doesn't solve if he has any political problems. KCR also addressed a crowd in Hindi in a bid to appeal to the wider audience, soon after a bike rally that snaked through the Begumpet and Necklace road till the Peoples' Plaza in support of Yashwant Sinha. At the public meeting with Yashwant Sinha, KCR launched a scathing attack on the PM and said, You have made several promises before winning, we want to know if even one of them was fulfilled. He also accused the PM of failing the country's different fields while stating that farmers, unemployed persons and even employed people are not happy under the BJP rule. This is the third time this year that KCR has avoided greeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The previous instance was on May 26, 2022 when the PM landed in Hyderabad to attend the celebration of the completion of 20 years of Indian School of Business (ISB) Hyderabad. On that day, KCR went to Bengaluru as part of national tour meeting various party leaders. He met former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (S) leader HD Deve Gowda. The BJP had then accused KCR of wantedly orchestrating the meeting on that particular day with the intention of avoiding the Prime Minister. KCR had not received Modi on his arrival in Hyderabad on February 5, 2022 and also skipped the two programmes attended by the Prime Minister. During the day-long visit, the Prime Minister unveiled the statue of saint Ramanujacharya and inaugurated the 50th anniversary celebrations of ICRISAT. After the BJP questioned this, KCR's office had said that the CM did not receive the PM as a couple of his family members had COVID-19-like symptoms.

The leaders were escorted into the city with a massive bike rally from the Begumpet airport to People's Plaza at Necklace Road, where KCR addressed the gathering in Hindi, in a bid to appeal to a national audience. TRS has expressed its support to Sinha, who is supported by opposition parties including the Congress, with whom the TRS wants to maintain an equal distance. In his speech on Saturday, KCR seems to have used the event meant to support Yashwanth Sinha, to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi who also reached Hyderabad on Saturday and the BJP. This was the third consecutive time that CM KCR did not receive the Prime Minister during his visits to the city. KCR came down heavily on PM Modi and accused him of failing the country in various fields. KCR alleged that the PMs promises like demonetisation have been failures, adding that black money in the country has increased since then. You have made several promises before winning, we want to know if even one of them was fulfilled, KCR said. Referring to the recent allegations that the PM pressured Gotabaya Rajapaksa to sign a power project over to the Adani group, KCR accused PM Modi of bringing a bad name to India, adding that PM Modi acted as a salesman rather than a Prime Minister. Further, he said that during the agitations against the three contentious farm laws in 2021, KCR said that the protesting farmers were labelled as terrorists and traitors by the ruling BJP. The massive bike rally from begumpet airport to Necklace Road Ahead of the national executive meet in Hyderabad, a few BJP leaders including Tamil Nadu party chief and Telangana MP K Laxman warned of a Maharashtra-like political scenario in Telangana. Charan Teja Two party programmes, the BJP's national executive meet and TRS rally in support of presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha, have heightened the political temperature in the city of Hyderabad. The TRS and the BJP, ahead of the programmes, have been engaging in turf wars to occupy public spaces to showcase their strength in the form of advertisements hoardings ahead of these two events. Several posters and flex boards that mock the Prime Minister and the BJP have sprung up in the city ahead of the visit by Narendra Modi and other senior leaders of the party. One of the billboards which mocks the Prime Minister has sparked a row and the BJP has accused TRS of taking up all the Hyderabad Metro premises to fill all available spaces with billboards highlighting welfare schemes of the KCR government, leaving no space for them. The hoarding which sparked row features the hashtag #ByeByeModi, and includes references to the revoked farm laws, Agnipath scheme, demonetisation, privatisation of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and the Union governments handling of the Covid-19 pandemic. It said Enough Modi, (Saalu Modi) and Dont kill people Modi (Sampaku Modi in a seeming counter attack to the campaign of Enough Feudal (Saalu Dora) and Leave Dora (Selavu Dora) started by the BJP against Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR). Some billboards put up by the TRS with permission were allegedly removed by the BJP cadres leading to the former registering a complaint with Cyberabad Police Commissioner Stephen Ravindra. On Friday, in the city's LB Nagar, a giant hoarding was erected mocking PM Modi with a parody of Money Heist , a popular Netflix series. The hoarding has a photo of a money heist gang with a message that read Mr N Modi we only rob banks, you rob the whole nation. Jumping into the billboard row between the BJP and TRS, the Congress has released a photoshopped image of the Netflix parody hoarding in which they mocked both the parties. The photoshopped image shows Chief Minister KCR and his son K Taraka Ramarao (KTR), also a minister, in Money Heist style suits with a message that read as Mr N Modi we only rob Telangana, you rob the whole nation. Even before PM Modi arrived in Hyderabad, TRS had taken out a massive rally from Begumpet Airport to People's Plaza in support of Yashwanth Sinha. This counter spectacle was to dim the saffron show planned by the Telangana' BJP. Officials have already issued traffic advisories owing to the high-end political drama that is unfolding in the city.

Politics The move comes days after Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and his party had decided to skip a meeting by opposition parties to decide the candidate. Inputs PTI File photo of KCR Telangana Rashtra Samithi's working president and Minister KT Rama Rao will be attending the nomination programme of the Opposition's presidential candidate Yashwant Sinha on Monday, June 27, TRS sources told PTI. KTR has already left for the national capital for the purpose, the sources said on Sunday. Along with KTR, who is the son of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (also known as KCR), some TRS MPs are also expected to attend the programme. The sources said though KCR did not physically participate in the Opposition parties meet on deciding their common candidate for the presidential elections, Telangana's ruling party has decided to support Sinha's candidature. Meanwhile, NCP chief Sharad Pawar told reporters in New Delhi on Sunday that the opposition parties will have to make every effort to ensure victory of Yashwant Sinha, their common candidate, in the presidential election. Pawar said if one looked at the arithmetic for the presidential election, the situation was not as bad as it was made out to be, and the opposition parties will have to make concerted efforts to put up a good fight. The NCP chief's remarks came even as opposition parties such as YSRCP and BSP had already declared support for Droupadi Murmu, the BJP-led NDA nominee in the July 18 election. Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which was part of the opposition grouping that selected Sinha as their common candidate, was also veering towards Murmu, a tribal leader of Odisha from the Santhal community. When we contest an election, we contest to win. When there are two candidates, both cannot win. The situation is different for each candidate. This contest is about principles. We have selected Yashwant Sinha as our common candidate and it is our responsibility to make every effort to ensure his victory. Whatever be the result, we can talk about it later, Pawar said. The NCP chief said it was the duty of the political parties to contest elections be it Lok Sabha or Assembly on the basis of the principles it believed in. We have entered the fray keeping this in mind, Pawar said. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and a host of opposition leaders are likely to be present in Parliament House on Monday when Sinha will submit his nomination papers for the presidential election.
The nine MLAs of state Congress, including two scheduled tribe legislators, will vote for the UPA presidential nominee Yashwant Sinha.
