IND vs ENG: Tried to disturb bowlers mentally: Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant showed a remarkable performance on the first day of the rescheduled fifth Test against England. He came at the time when India's batting line-up was struggling and went on to make 146 runs. The wicketkeeper-batter said that the secret of his heroics was to disturb the bowlers mentally.
Rishabh Pant's brilliant performance that added 146 runs on board has not shaken England's mindset according to assistant coach Paul Collingwood. He said that the home team is not scared and will fight back in the rescheduled fifth Test.
Who made Pant such a dreaded batsman.., Who hit reverse sweeps to fast bowlers
New Delhi: Indian cricket team's head coach Ravi Shastri revealed a conversation with Rishabh Pant during India's home series against England last year, which gave another dimension to India's wicketkeeper-batsman. Shastri, who was team India's head coach, when Pant played those two historic innings in Australia and then played brilliantly against England at home . Now in the Edgbaston Test, Pant again played a quickfire inning of 146 runs off just 111 balls with the help of 19 fours and 4 sixes. Let me tell you that Pant has been a completely different kind of Test batsman in the last few years, he is doing things that people do not expect from a Test player. Pant's fearless attitude, which involves smashing world-class bowlers, has not evolved overnight and Pant has not been like that from the beginning. In fact, it was Ravi Shastri who worked to make Pant a dreaded batsman. Ravi Shastri, a former Team India coach on Sky Sports, said, Last year I was talking to Pant and I told him that I am getting bored of seeing you throw wickets in the same style every time, don't you get bored too? So why don't you try something different, some more heartless shot... Like reverse sweep? And then I saw the glow in his eyes. It is very important to support a player's ability.'' Shortly after this conversation, Rishabh Pant started playing those kinds of shots. Shastri said Pant hit a reverse sweep of James Anderson against the second new ball in the Ahmedabad Test and then hit Jofra Archer in the white-ball series. Shastri said, He hit a reverse sweep twice off Jack Leach's balls. In the next Test, he did the same against Anderson. Hit a reverse sweep to Jofra Archer in the limited-overs series.'' Pant's batting once again showed the same attitude when he scored his fifth Test century against England in the series-deciding match in Birmingham on Friday. Pant scored a century off just 89 balls, which is the fastest Test century by an Indian wicketkeeper-batsman to go higher. Pant's innings put India in a better position, as India lost 5 wickets for 98 runs. In such a situation, Pant added more than 200 runs with Ravindra Jadeja. HC's big decision regarding damages caused during a protest
Patna: Violence in Bihar and loss of billions of rupees against the Modi government's ambitious Agnipath scheme at the Centre will not be recovered from the rioters. The Patna High Court has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking compensation from the rioters for the loss of government property. The petition also sought that the persons who helped the students to incite violence and vandalism and spread anarchy should also be investigated. At the same time, action has also been demanded against the officers who are unable to stop the violent agitation. A division bench of Patna High Court comprising Chief Justice Sanjay Karol and Justice S Kumar heard the petition on Friday (July 1, 2022). The court dismissed the plea after hearing the argument of state advocate general Lalit Kishore. Kishor argued that the government had cracked down on the anarchic elements and deployed adequate police forces. The petition had said that due to the negligence of the officers, government property worth several hundred crore rupees was destroyed in the state. Therefore, the property damaged should be assessed and compensated by the agitators. At the same time, the petition has also stated that action should be taken against the responsible officers and a fine should be imposed on them. At the same time, there has also been a demand to impose fines on political parties participating in the movement. The petition said that due to this violent agitation, not only did the railways and other government properties suffer large-scale damage, but the safety of common citizens was also jeopardized. The petitioner claims that Danapur railway division alone has suffered a loss of Rs 260 crore. However, opposing the plea, state Advocate General Lalit Kishore told the court that the state government was fully alert to deal with the agitation. He said that a PIL has been filed with the wrong intention to defame the government. Violent protests were held in different parts of the country and trains were looted and set on fire in protest against the Agneepath scheme announced by the Central Government for army recruitment. Even the vehicles of school-going children were pelted with stones. The RJD and the Left parties had extended their support to the protesters. Let me tell you that Bihar was the most affected by the violence and protests. New Delhi: Former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has once again failed to score big. In the Edgbaston Test, the Indian cricket team batted first and India's condition worsened on the first day itself. Virat Kohli, popularly known as the run machine, also got out for just 11 runs and proved to be a failure in this very important Test match. Virat Kohli's failure has been going on for a long time, in such a way, that the anger of fans has broken out on him. @imVkohli pajji aap apne naam ke hisab se nahi khel raho ho. we are waiting for your hundred. A flurry of similar comments was pouring in on Twitter. Let us know that Virat Kohli scored only 11 runs in the first innings of the Edgbaston Test. England's young player Matthew Potts took his wicket, taking the edge of Virat Kohli's bat and the ball went straight into the stumps. If we talk about Virat Kohli, then he has not been able to do any special wonders in this series. Virat has scored only 229 runs in five Tests. Virat Kohli has not scored a century in international cricket since 2019. Edgbaston| Emphatic, emphatic is the only word that comes to your mind when you see Rishabh Pant. As compared to his white ball exploits, Rishabh Pant in the Indian whites playing the red ball is something to watch out for. Nobody exactly knows, how he does it, or with which mindset he does it, but time and again he has shown us that he is way ahead in the purest format of the game and he can turn the tide in his team's favor from any given situation.
IND vs ENG: Pant, Jadeja Rescues India After Anderson Flattens Indian Batting Line-Up
Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja powered India's revival after James Anderson and Matthew Potts struck for England in the second session on first day of the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston on Friday. At tea, India are 174/5 in 44 overs, with Pant (53 not out) and Jadeja (32 not out) at the crease for an unbroken 76-run stand for the sixth wicket after the visitors were reduced to 98/5. After a rain delay of nearly an hour and a half, Potts struck by trapping Hanuma Vihari lbw with a full nip-backer beating the inside edge to hit the pads. He had more elation in his next over when Virat Kohli tried to leave after playing for forward defence. But he was late in withdrawing the bat, which resulted in him chopping on to his stumps off the bottom edge. Shreyas Iyer was aggressive in his start, taking two boundaries off Potts through a square drive and uppish slash between point and third man. In between, Anderson bothered him with short balls. But Iyer continued to go for the offensive, cover-driving Potts for his third boundary. Pant also got into the act, dancing down the pitch to drive Anderson down the ground for a boundary. But Iyer, cramped for room, gloved a short ball to leg-side and wicketkeeper Sam Billings dived to his left for completing a stunning one-handed catch. Pant and Jadeja began the rebuilding job for India by keeping the scoreboard ticking through strike rotation and some exquisite shots. As Anderson and Broad went fuller in their lengths, boundaries came in. Jadeja slammed two glorious on-drives and an eye-catchy off-drive, presenting full face of the bat while Pant brought out a punchy drive through cover. Jack Leach's reintroduction in 37th over brought more runs for India as Pant stepped out to drive him through long-off for a boundary. Leach dropped it short on the very next ball and Pant rocked back to pull for another boundary. Pant brought up the half-century of his association with Jadeja by dancing down the pitch to slam a six down the ground. Six overs and a boundary later, Pant reached his fifty in 51 balls off Leach with a sublime whip coming off the back-foot to beat deep square leg easily to seal the second session in India's favour.
