Children help prevent 6,821 cigarette butts from reaching sea at Ecuador beach

In Ecuador's coastal community, children spearheaded a two-year initiative to combat cigarette butt pollution. They collected thousands of butts, leading to a notable reduction along the beach. The project not only educated the youth but also empowered them to engage their families in clean-up campaigns. Local authorities actively supported these efforts, demonstrating the critical role of young voices in tackling environmental issues.
