UP govt hikes sugarcane price by Rs 30/quintal; highest increase since 2017

Uttar Pradesh government has increased the State Advisory Price (SAP) for sugarcane by Rs 30 per quintal for the 2025-26 season, setting it at Rs 390 for common and Rs 400 for upgraded varieties. This marks the highest SAP hike since 2017, benefiting around 46 lakh farmers and aiming to boost sugar production in the state.
