US lawmakers urge Rubio to 'prioritize rights & freedoms when meeting Indian officials'

A bipartisan group of six US lawmakers is calling on Secretary of State Marco Rubio to engage Indian officials on critical issues surrounding democratic freedoms. Their letter stresses the importance of free expression, rights to protest, and active electoral participation. Highlighting recent student demonstrations and government actions, they view these concerns as vital. India, however, has dismissed their observations as inappropriate interference in its electoral integrity.
