Florida owners sue over $13,157 roof fee; allege $232,000 paid before vote

Homeowners in The Vistas at Phillips Commons have initiated a lawsuit against their homeowners association. They allege that a roofing contract worth $2.1 million was approved secretly before an official vote. The residents claim that a significant deposit was made before the meeting took place, indicating potential financial misconduct. An active criminal investigation is examining alleged irregularities involving both the association and the management company.
