8 years on, proposal for IAS-like medical cadre still awaiting states' views

A proposed All India Medical Service, envisioned to create a national cadre of doctors akin to IAS and IPS, remains under consideration by the Union health ministry. Despite years of consultations, the ministry is still awaiting responses from several states and Union Territories before proceeding with the plan.
