Friends of Police: a community policing initiative that was shut down in Tamil Nadu after Sattankulam custodial deaths

What started as a small team of volunteers calling itself Shore Care Committees and later Friends of Police to guard the shores of Ramanathapuram district later proliferated to spread across the State of Tamil Nadu till 2020 when it was disbanded.
