Centre gives permission to desilt Parappalar reservoir in Dindigul district; farmers welcome the announcement

The farmers and their associations had represented to the officials and the governments to take steps for desilting the dam as it would enhance the storage level, which may provide more water for irrigation and also for drinking purposes.
