'What does Howdy Modi have to say about this?: Congress mocks PM as Trump reiterates mediation claim

The Congress on Friday took a jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi after US President Donald Trump once again claimed credit for stopping a military conflict between India and Pakistan and for India largely stopping oil imports from Russia. In a post on X, Congress general secretary in charge of communications Jairam Ramesh mocked the Prime Minister, asking, What does Howdy Modi have to say about all this?, a reference to the 2019 Howdy Modi event in Houston that highlighted Modi and Trumps close rapport. Since May 10, when Trump first declared that India and Pakistan had agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire after US mediation, he has repeatedly credited himself for defusing tensions. India, however, has firmly denied any third-party role in resolving disputes with Pakistan. The Modi government has maintained that all issues between the two countries are bilateral.
