Unproven treatments can land doctors in trouble. Supreme Court says experimental therapies amount to misconduct

The Supreme Court has ruled that doctors who administer unproven treatments, such as stem cell therapy for Autism Spectrum Disorder, may be held liable for professional misconduct and medical negligence. The court criticised the Centre for its inaction in curbing such practices and stressed the urgent need for clear regulations to protect patients from risky and unverified therapies.
