US authorities have dismantled an India-based call centre scam. Hundreds of elderly Americans lost millions to tech support fraud. The investigation led to the conviction of five Indian fraudsters and two US executives. These executives admitted to enabling the widespread fraud. The operation used deceptive pop-ups to trick victims into paying for fake services.
