US FDA approves world's first oral cholesterol-lowering pill: What it means for patients

The FDA has approved Lipfendra, an oral PCSK9 inhibitor, for high cholesterol. This new once-daily pill offers an alternative to injectable cholesterol-lowering medications. It is intended for adults with high cholesterol, including those with familial hypercholesterolemia. The drug significantly reduces bad cholesterol levels when used with diet and exercise. Lipfendra is not yet available for marketing in India.
