UP education minister says Johnny Johnny Yes Papa and 'Rain rain go away' encourage children to lie, asks 'what are we teaching them?'

Uttar Pradesh Education Minister Yogendra Upadhyay sparked controversy by deeming nursery rhymes 'Johnny Johnny Yes Papa' and 'Rain Rain Go Away' detrimental to Indian culture. He argued they promote dishonesty and selfishness, contrasting them with the Indian values of collective welfare and harmony with nature. He added that these rhymes teach children to lie.
