UN calls for immediate, unconditional release of all 'arbitrarily detained' in Delhi protests

The United Nations has called for the immediate release of individuals arbitrarily detained during protests in Delhi. Reports indicate mass detentions of protest leaders, demonstrators, and journalists amidst large-scale demonstrations. The UN expresses concern over the violations of the right to peaceful assembly. Authorities are urged to ensure the rights of demonstrators are respected and upheld. The atmosphere surrounding the protests raises serious questions about civil liberties and human rights.
