Supreme Court allows passive euthanasia for 32-year-old man in coma for over 12 years

The Supreme Court has permitted passive euthanasia for Harish Rana, a 31-year-old man in a coma for over 12 years. His artificial life support will be withdrawn. Rana suffered head injuries in 2013. AIIMS will facilitate the withdrawal of treatment with a plan to maintain dignity. Medical boards had previously indicated a negligible chance of recovery.
