Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal registers narrow win from Kottarakkara assembly seat

Kerala Finance Minister K N Balagopal narrowly won the Kottarakkara constituency by 1,012 votes against former CPI(M) leader Aisha Potty, who had joined the Congress. Balagopal's victory makes him one of the few CPI(M) ministers to survive the UDF's gains in the state assembly polls, though some CPI ministers also faced challenges.
