IIT Bombay launches its own AI company
IIT Bombay has taken an unprecedented step by incorporating its own company, BharatGen Technology Foundation, signalling a bold push to shape Indias AI future. Registered in November 2025 and headquartered at IIT Bombay, BharatGen is Indias first major effort to build a sovereign large language model grounded in the countrys linguistic, cultural, and social diversity.
