Honeymoon murder: Meghalaya govt moves SC against HC order granting bail to prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi

Meghalaya's government has approached the Supreme Court challenging the High Court's decision to grant bail to Sonam Raghuvanshi, accused of murdering her husband during their 2025 honeymoon in the state. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta argued the bail was granted based on a minor error in supplying arrest documents, raising concerns about the accused absconding. The Supreme Court has agreed to hear the plea urgently.
