HP opposes centre's 'VB-G RAM G' scheme, says new norms will burden state with Rs 164 crore annually and reduce wages

Himachal Pradesh government vehemently opposes the Centre's renaming of MGNREGA to 'VB-G RAM G' and its new funding framework. Minister Anirudh Singh stated the changes, shifting financial burden to states and reducing guaranteed workdays, will cost Himachal Pradesh 164.63 crore annually and potentially 800-1,000 crore if actual demand exceeds allocations. He also criticized wage reductions and centralized approval systems.
