Govt's reply in Parliament on Mekedatu must be withdrawn, Tamil Nadu CM Vijay to PM Modi

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene on the Mekedatu project. He requested no approvals unless consistent with the Cauvery Water Disputes Tribunal Award. Vijay also called for withdrawal of a Union Minister's Rajya Sabha statement. This statement suggested Karnataka did not need lower riparian consent for the project. The Chief Minister emphasized protecting judicial decisions and federal harmony.
