Floods in Bangladesh kill 44, leave over a million stranded

Torrential monsoon rains caused floods and landslides in southeastern Bangladesh. At least forty-four people have died and over a million are stranded. Power outages and damaged roads hinder rescue and relief efforts significantly. Many residents lack food and cooking facilities due to submerged homes.
