FM Nirmala Sitharaman proposes duty-free imports of certain specified inputs for leather exports sector

Union Budget 2026: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced measures to boost exports. Duty-free imports for leather inputs will be allowed. Parts for microwave ovens will be exempt from customs duty. Fifteen archaeological sites will be developed. Exporters will get an extended period for final product exports. The government will also support the manufacturing of assistive devices.
