Delhi government raises annual family income limit to Rs 2.5 lakh for ration card applications

In a notable policy change, the Delhi government has raised the annual income cap for ration cards to Rs 2.5 lakh, a move designed to enhance access to subsidized food grains via the public distribution system. The food department is now accepting new applications after previously cancelling more than 2.3 lakh ration cards in a verification effort.
