America's 'mass affluence' is bigger than you think

The U.S. economy is increasingly defined by a K-shaped recovery, but the affluent group driving growth is far larger than a small elite. According to Reuters columnist Mike Dolan, around one-third of U.S. households have benefited from rising home values, stock market gains and low fixed-rate mortgages, giving them strong spending power despite inflation and high interest rates.
