Hero MotoCorp Launches Ride Safe India Road Safety Campaign
New Delhi: To mark National Road Safety Month, Hero MotoCorp, the worlds largest manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has rolled out an inclusive road safety campaign titled Ride Safe India, reinforcing its long-term commitment to safer mobility across the country. Aligned with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) 4Es of Road Safety Education, Engineering, Enforcement and Emergency Care the campaign aims to move road safety beyond compliance and position it as a shared social responsibility. The initiative will be implemented through on-ground interventions, community engagement and technology-led awareness programmes across Delhi, Gurugram, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Jaipur. The campaign builds on Hero MotoCorps decade-long road safety efforts, which have positively impacted over 1.6 million people nationwide through sustained awareness drives, rider training programmes and traffic park interventions. The company said these initiatives have played a key role in embedding safer riding practices and strengthening its vision of making road safety an integral part of everyday mobility in India. Speaking on the occasion, Vikram Kasbekar, Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer, Hero MotoCorp, said road safety requires sustained, multi-stakeholder collaboration. He noted that safety is deeply embedded in the companys purpose, products and partnerships, adding that Ride Safe India seeks to prioritise safety for riders, families and communities alike, while also expanding access to intelligent and preventive safety features in its vehicles. The campaign focuses on creating measurable impact among key groups including students, gig workers and women riders. In collaboration with traffic police, regional transport authorities and educational institutions, the initiative emphasises capacity building and behavioural change to foster a long-term culture of road safety. As part of its child-focused interventions, the campaign will establish 10 Safe School Zones with speed-calming measures, road markings and 200 signages at critical intersections. Dual parentchild digital road safety pledges will be extended to over one million participants, while school-level awareness programmes, drawing competitions and jingle workshops will be conducted across 60 schools. In partnership with the International Road Federation, students will also participate in structured workshops and simulation-based training. For gig workers, Hero MotoCorp has introduced the Surakshit Saathi initiative, under which over 1,000 delivery executives will be trained and certified as first responders. The hybrid training programme, conducted at Hero MotoCorp Traffic Parks, will cover emergency response, behavioural guidance, and provide safety gear, first-aid kits and emergency protocol cards. The broader community outreach will include the deployment of 250 mobile billboards as safety reminders, road safety events around Republic Day, digital citizen pledges, awareness drives at 500 fuel stations and interactive engagements at traffic parks to reach millions of road users. Highlighting its focus on inclusivity, the company will also organise a Womens Bike Rally around International Womens Day, involving 100 women riders, along with the felicitation of women traffic police officers for their contribution to road safety. Through Ride Safe India, Hero MotoCorp aims to strengthen community participation, deepen multi-stakeholder collaboration and reinforce its role as a long-term partner in Indias road safety journey.
