TVK MLA MR Pallavi walks out of GCC event after Chennai mayor refuses to hand over candle to light lamp

Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam MLA M R Pallavi walked out of a Greater Chennai Corporation inauguration after Mayor R Priya allegedly refused to let her light the ceremonial lamp. The MLA felt humiliated by the incident, while the Mayor stated she followed protocol by having an IAS officer light the lamp next. Pallavi later described the Mayor's action as 'arrogant'.
