MRTS extension opens after 2 decades, commuters face first-day confusion

The 4.5km MRTS extension from Velachery to St Thomas Mount has finally opened, creating Chennai's second intermodal hub. While two of the three new stations are operational, commuters faced confusion regarding platform assignments and access issues at Puzhuthivakkam. Despite initial hiccups, the extension is welcomed for improving city-wide rail connectivity.
